Hey everyone! I hope you are all doing well! Today I have a step by step build for the Arrma Limitless where I go through everything I've done to get this thing running! I hope this is helpful and informative. Perhaps even somewhat entertaining! :)

The racers edge capacitor is like a backup power supply. All it takes is a tiny voltage glitch and the receiver will loose binding with the transmitter and will need to rebind to the transmitter and that can take a couple seconds while the car is going 100mph.

I had the same problem with a hobbywing 4585 motor. The motor can is too fat and it touches the outdrive with the stock gear. I also ran a 29 tooth pinion gear. Great video. 👍

Great Video, I own just about every Arrma RTR besides the Limitless and I want one even though I have the Felony. I think I may just try the body and wing kit with the felony and see how it looks with those bigger tires on the back.

As strong as those connectors are that catpack solder job don't look like it will last. A glitch buster is to help with connection interference.

Great video and thanks, I'm sure you just saved me a lot of hours and money as I'm about to jump down this rabbit hole. xlx2 with an 1100 kv and a Limitless are on the way. Also working on a tt02 shooting for 100 MPH on that one. Even us crawler guys need a distraction once in a while LOL.

That is similar build different motor two 4s batteries but I had to 1520 1650kv mamba Monster motor with a Mamba Monster X 8s ESC 30 tooth pinion gear in my armor felony

Slide a strip of notebook paper between your pinion and spur gears for perfect mesh

I too am looking into the Limitless and noticed you have the same TX/RX combo, I also noticed yoy had some reverse issues? I assume it has been resolved and was it a setting in the TX itself? Also noticed you were using a wifi app, I assume that was for the ESC setup you are using? Thanks

I had to reverse the motor in the castle app and send that to the ESC as well as on the transmitter. Let me know if you have any other questions.

The stock pinion that comes with the limitless doesn't reach the spur gear like you mentioned. But on mine it's not because it's hitting the drive shaft but simply doesn't reach. The motor mount is pushed as far as it will go towards the spur. So simply stepping up to a 29t pinion with reach the spur ? I have the same motor/each setup as you along with the stock motor mount..,, Thanks.

I think I stepped up to nearly 34 took and 29 spur, something like that.

I was scratching my head, I assumed you stepped up in gearing but couldn't believe the gap between the pinion and spur when I first slid it in place. I have a PPS motor mount on order which will solve all problems but just wanted to run it for a little while before really modifying it. How are your temps with that gearing?

How do you set this up to run properly? Mine only runs in reverse, unless I switch the motor to run in reverse, then it goes forward. I dunno if that will damage the motor... BTW I have the same components as yours.

Switching it to reverse will not damage the motor.

Hey u ever had an issues with the car spinning out when accelerating past half throttle? I have an xlx2 1100 combo and the car like to 180

It comes as a roller so you need to buy all the electronics and build it yourself.

hey I want to make this and before I make it what speed do you think it goes because I'm looking for a combo faster than 80mph (where did you get those wires that your solder down to the wires of the speed controller? PS what is the link to buy those connecters?

This setup got me 117mph. The wires are actually just bread ties with the plastic peeled off. The connectors are OSE8MM. If you search that on google you will find where to buy them. Good luck!

Hey so i did the exact build you did literally everything the same as you did, did you have over heating issues? I would run about 3-4 100mph passes then itll cut off from over heating what am i doing wrong?

These are cap packs and they help stabilize the electrical system under heavy load. It helps protect the batteries as well.

It does come with the car but it was too small. I had a few others that were bigger and those worked.

It does not. It is a roller which means it does not have any electronics. You have to buy and put them in yourself.

Yes. Sorry about that. Just double sided sticky tape. The thick black tape with red covering works great. Don’t skimp on this part.

Castle MMX8S and 1717 Motor 1650kv and it depends on how it’s geared. The setup you see in the video I believe put it at 118.

How did you route the servo wire to get it into the receiver box?

It comes out the right side so I just routed it around the servo and into the box. Pretty straightforward. Are you having issues?

@@GoKaioken I couldn't route it that way. Did you have to remove a little piece of foam to do it? Thing is, once I get the servo in, there is no way for me to get the wire out if the servo housing. It's really weird.

You’re working on a limitless? If your looking at the limitless with the ESC, receiver, and servo mount on the side of the car towards you, when you put your servo in, do the servo wires come out of the servo to the right or to the left?

@@GoKaioken Yes, its a Limitless. I'm working with the Castle 1717 setup like you did. Once I drop the servo in, the wire literally has nowhere to go. The wire on my Servo points towards the front of car.

Horizon Hobby has options where you can select which ones you want when you purchase the Limitless through them, but most places you have to buy your own stuff.

Why would you pay almost 1000? The car is 399.99 USD. You do have to pay for your own motor, esc, transmitter, receiver, batteries, servo. What you put in is up to you.

Sorry, I forget, i live in Indonesia, so I have to pay that much, but there are also those who only cost 500 dollars. But even though it's expensive, why only get the frame?

So you can use whatever electronics you want. Some people don’t want the spectrum stuff. So rather than buying a felony or infraction and then selling off the stock stuff, they buy this.

It comes with everything except for a transmitter, receiver, motor, ESC, or servo.

I can estimate it for you, but it depends on the brands. For me personally. The motor and ESC combo was about $400. The servo was 150, but it’s overkill for this application, the transmitter and receiver was 80, oh and I forgot to mention the batteries. I have 2 4S batteries 150 each.

Ok first off it’s a limitless made for speed lol you need to start with at least a 34T pinion and if you want real speed you’ll end up with a 39T. Send it!!!
