Hey Earl! I spent the better part of a day trying to get my 8S OUTCAST running a few weeks ago. Ironically, the week before it ran fine with the very same electronics! CASTLE 2028/XLX2, SPECTRUM radio & receiver. Then, the next time out I went through exactly what you went through. Every time I calibrated it, & tried the controls another glitch occurred. Finally, I removed the the SPECTRUM receiver, installed a FUTABA & added it to my FUTABA radio that most of my RC’s were already on. One other thing…I abandoned the receiver box. I was so sick of having to dig it out every time I needed access. I bought an after market receiver box & mounted it in a convenient place. Good luck Earl. Always a pleasure watching your videos!
There is a some of us hoping you get the redcat. We respect your rc knowledge and hope to get your opinion on it. $teel City Pittsburgh in here!!! Go steelers
I’ve had tons of problems with hobbywing crap and I’m sooo glad I put the xlx2 in my outcast 8s. I’ve never had a single problem with it. I can’t stand those spektrum receivers though. I’ve had great luck with those gt5 transmitters and receivers. Never had an issue. Might be worth switching over. They’re cheap and work great.
Sry about the half a day with the issues. That’s the fun of the hobby. lol. Good stuff brother still a good lil bash around. Can’t wait to see more on the speed max slash. Keep bashing brother.
I think every time you turn on the esc and radio, you've got to make sure the vehicle is on level ground and that your radio is a particular distance away from the RC in order for it to connect. It's some kind of AVC trick.
I ran into a similar situation at the park with my Xmaxx today. I was there ripping around and a lady shows up with a baby in a stroller and about a 3 year old with his soccer ball and a net. I had a course set up with orange cones and she parks herself right beside my course and throws the kids ball out and starts setting up the net. A big huge park with no one else there and she pulls this stunt. I had to go pick up my cones and more elsewhere as I didn't want a youngster running out after his ball and hitting him at 40 mph.
I was having the same problem on my losi dbxle 2.0 and found out that the wiring in the box was pushing the bind button from time to time and would have to reset it everytime until i realized what was going on with it. Moved some wiring around and it corrected all the issues with the receiver.
Spectrum with spectrum esc seems to work great the receiver still fail but calibration seems easier to do then a castle esc with the on/off switch bypassed 💯
I had the same problem with mine I had to get a new receiver so I got one with out avc and haven't had any problems they have a new avc receiver I don't know how it works but it comes with the kraton 6s exb
This is one think I really dislike with the arrma 8's line getting to that receiver box !!! And that reciever the 6100's are a pain in the butt 6200's are better and lots more reliable
Hobbywing esc work great for bashers castle more of big power onroad esc in my opinion this rc was a comparison with an outcast 8s with a hobbywing and one with a castle I sold the better one because of the issue this rc had 💯👍
Get a different radio system or a different truck. I have no trouble binding castle to all my traxxas vehicles. The 6s and especially 8s Arrma trucks are beautiful looking money pits. 1 or 2 big jumps and the chassis bends. The arms break at the slightest bump, and the electronics regularly quit during hard bashing. Stick to their 3s & 4s models. Those actually work and can claim exb.
💭🤔Dude, how did your car come back on? By just plugging up the battery and not hitting the power button. Maybe you should’ve just tried rebinding the receive first. 🫡💯🔥
Just throw that Spektrum receiver and controller in the trash. Everyone I know, including myself, nothing but issues. Went radiolink. No issues and the recievers are 20 bucks.
I didn't pay attention to the entire calibration process, but if you're using the Spektrum AVC receivers there are added steps where the brake, AVC knobs have to be set at specific points, and the radio needs to be at greater than 1 meter from the receiver (iirc). There is a video online that I have to constantly reference. I don't have the link atm
Castle esc calibration is a 3 second delay when paired with spectrum castle has a whole notation on this issue when using there esc on spectrum receivers
How do you like the overdriven gearing? I was running overdriven 39p/34s and my Max 5g2 800kv combo topped out at 63mph. I geared down to 34/34 due to the overdriven set up drained batteries and got hot quick.
Do they have a new one as I’ll take it 💯I own all of them already and 3 xmaxx’s one standard and two ultimate 💯just saying they make a good rc 💯🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
