Hex drivers would make your life soooo much easier. Sounds & looks like the slipper clutch is too loose... Should lift easily on launch. #deathtotheallenwrench
@Torian Blair yeah I know, but fyi there are quite a few who have done this conversion. It can't take a punch like the 6s but I'd be interested to see how the car performs with that 8th scale motor and esc. I've only seen pictures of others but no running video.

When converting the Typhon 550 to 6s, you needed a motor upgrade right, or no? I'm just now getting into the rc world and wanting to upgrade my Typhon 550 to 6s. I'm thinking I'll need a new ESC aswell as a 6s motor, gears, input gear, batteries and possibly shocks... Input with what youve done with yours would be awesome. Thanks
Basically everything, after the cost u would have been better off just buying the 6s but that's just common sense talking and ik not too peeps out r fluent in that language. Js it gonna waste a ton of dough. Hope this helps
@@thenault20 While you are absolutely correct, it is better to get the 6s platform for the power so you dont break, however, I did just do the same conversion for someone who JUST does streets runs, blx185 esc/2050kv/6s, just the 0.8 mod slipper and pinion, stock diffs and all, doesnt break and does well, Now bashing and track racing is a different story lol
I went from 2s to 6s also.. I moved my esc blx185 and bought shorter batteries on Amazon(goldbat) Gotta do a lot of melting to get new strap location but that's easy with a torch and flathead screw driver lol
Do not do this.. it's not good idea. Arrma has 3 typhons version for reason. I did this upgrade but with VXL6S and castle 2200kv . It is not so easy because you have to change spur and clutch system to at least 3S and that is $50 -$70 part alone. The tires are issue too since I only got one run from the s6 typhon katar tires I buy on ebay. They went bold from center out indicating no traction. And you will not have AVC.
