Arrma Vorteks Unboxing and Upgrades 

I think it's awesome how easy the servo/receiver box is to remove to work on or clean. Same with the motor and motor mount, one screw to remove it for easy access. Love it. I do have some Zee brand batteries, I usually do more budget lipos and See is on that list. I have had good luck with Hoovo and Ovonic as well. But almost any lipo gonna be a big improvement over the nimh battery it comes with.

That's awesome. I just love how they made 4x2 brushed line so fully upgradable. I go back and forth on weather the metal diffs are worth it when you can get 8 composite ones (on Jenny RC anyway) for the price of 2 metal ones. Probably worth it if you're going 4s though. @@deeztrucks0505 I been getting a lot of new cars lately so it kinda got pushed to the side an honestly I’m surprised that they didn’t make a bigger deal about these at holiday time these are a great budget way into the hobby grade community an you can really make these into something really cool… I will actually be using the upgraded cnc metal diffs in mine when I finally do it but with the new center diff option that would really make it cool

@RC4us Hey, didn't get notification that you responded tell greeneyed posted. I agree 100% probably one of the best for introducing someone to the hobby, Soo easy to upgrade and winds up AMAZING 😃. When the one without batteries was on sale, it was the same price as the little Granite from. The Gorgon may be a better 2wd platform but once you make this 4x4 I think it, or the Granite version, is way better than the Gorgon and tons more upgrades... I REALLY want some of those center diffs to upgrade my 3s and 4s Arrmas. Rumor is they are on backorder till July... Ugh. 🙂

Well yes and no. You would still have to buy the diff boost box and the wide track boost box even for the 3s version. So closer to $80 more. But for me I already had the 3s motor ESC, and the wide track (both from my Big Rock). If you check the video where I upgrade it, in the description is a breakdown of the boost box price compared to buying on JennysRC and which is cheaper..

@@deeztrucks0505 Actually i was wrong it would be closer to $180. Front & Rear Metal Diff Upgrade Set: ($100), 3S Brushless System & Power Module Upgrade Set: ($200), 4x4 Upgrade ($40), and the car itself is ($170). That’s $510 that you could’ve used to get a Kraton 4s or 6s.

@@deeztrucks0505 i’ll go check out that video, but considering you can find a new vorteks for around $250 these days it would be absurd to go this route unless you got upgrades laying around.

​​​@@Murphys_Law9Where are you finding them for $250? Most of the 3s are $329. I did have upgrades laying around after upgrading my Big Rock to 4s including Outcast 4s arms etc. So for me it was less expensive this way. Also you were right the first time with the wide track boost box for another $20 hehe. But don't forget you still have to get the metal diff and wide track boxes even with 3s version. So you have to add that $120 to your 3s price too. Honestly my thought was that since I had the stuff off of my Big Rock, it would be fun to do a video on adding all the boost box's (or equivalent). I do have a couple 6s Arrma trucks and I now have all 3 4s ones 🙂(well one is 4s Kraton XXL ie: 4s Mojave chassis still in the works) Thanks a ton for watching. @Murphys_Law9 Lol all that to say..... If you bought the truck for $329, and the metal diff and wide track boost boxes for $120, you would be paying the same as a 4s Outcast or Kraton!! Go 4s!!! I could see how buying the 4x2 for a kids 1st truck, maybe for Christmas , and installing the 4x4 box with them would be awesome. You could get the 3s box for birthday, and diff box the next Christmas lol.
