I 100% agree that the loss is on Espinosa. He totally misjudged You might find interesting my reply to Boxcar Ent.'s more succinct comment just a few lines above. Espinosa either hadn't done his research and didn't know of Arrogate's end-of-the race kick...or...he didn't keep an eye on them and was caught sleeping...again. Neither choice acceptable at that level.
Glad to see your post. I sure agree. Espinosa blew it...big time...again. Miles wide as the race settled, when any/every unnecessary wide effort early will weigh heavily/take its toll, in the stretch. And, Espinosa even kept him on "out there" for several seconds for no good reason. Chrome sure got them started just right with his impressive, rather regular fast break to the front. No one was bothering Chrome's position. His stride, attitude, composure were perfect. Espinosa was just not focused...again. You'd think he'd have learned from the first time. No. Over confident.,..again. Not paying attention to what was coming...again. Even admitted in the post race interview that he could have/perhaps should have started earlier. Duh. Mr. Sherman is such a gentleman. It was very, very sad to see/hear his interview. On top of the sadness of the unnecessary result, he knew "inside" that Chrome did not get the ride he should have...again. He so truly loves Chrome and wanted the best for him always. He gave Espinosa a second chance after the first debacle, which I could not have done, as the owner or trainer. But Sherman has such a big, gentle heart. He must have thought that Espinosa just couldn't possibly mess up, yet again, couldn't possibly not keep his mind on the business at hand, yet again. But..... 2/11/22.
@@virginialawler7725 if Espinoza stayed focus on keeping that 3 to 4 length lead, started earlier, and keeps the whip on the same side no switching late, pushes Chrome all the way to the wire, he wins easily.
Wow what a animal-most American sites are now disabled because we get so nasty about horses who wants to fight? All I can say is he is the best horse since Man o war and Secretariat. Perhaps that is why we fight about him.
He was cheering for arrogate in Arabic bcus he is the ownership of the Saudi prince Khalid bin Abdullah so it's Saudi win as this horse is now owned by the Saudi Arabia
John Longo they mean Smith won it for Arrogate Victor lost for Chrome. I do wish Victor had let Chrome run earlier but, I have never race ridden before. What the hell do I know!
@@bigr6298 I agree with you 100% that Espinosa cost the race for Chrome. You might find interesting a few lines I posted a few inches up about Espinosa's ride.
