The thing I don't like is that Oliver put someone as dangerous and as resourceful as Slade in the A.R.G.U.S prison and doesn't think he'll escape, but because Malcom Merlyn knows of the prison and says he can escape it he doesn't put him in there.
Slade was a member of the ASIS while Merlyn was a member of the League of Assassins. I'd put my money on Merlyn escaping the prison over Slade. I also think that Merlyn is a lot more resourceful since he is smart enough to fake his own death while still keeping his millions of dollars as well as being smart enough to plant two earthquake devices in Starling knowing Oliver would defuse the obvious one. He seems to always have a contingency plan.
Merlyn has a greater chance of getting _off_ the Island than Slade, because he's richer and likely more resourceful. He also might not want to risk Malcolm and Slade meeting and teaming up.
Oh, this's an interesting family setup; especially when Thea finds out the kook who tied her up upside-down is really going to wind up her brother's wife; that's going to set off fireworks in their homelives for sure- let alone when she finds out she's got basically a homocidal half-sister in Emiko; that's going to be *quite* the family for the tabloids, let me tell you... course that's what happens when not only one but *both* parents are unfaithful and commit adultery with others: you have crazy family dynamics result. *My* only real objection with this kind of dynamic is how their parents were completely adulterously unfaithful to their marriage: I mean: *both* Emiko and Thea are products of adultery; so while they're innocent thereof- none of that family was treated right, and her niece, Mia, really did the *dumbest* thing she could've ever done by making a *literal* deal that made her an *actual* sorceress: Mia made a literal deal with the *actual* devil; that sort of thing never works out for the individual who does it. And if Oliver's using *magic*/the occult, then he's beyond stupid- in the wrong direction.
Nyssa, if your sister-in-law is the heiress to *Hell*, then she's really to pity; as she's got the *worst* inheritance imaginable; and worst of all: she is an innocent victim of that- though for how long she's going to stay innocent is anybody's guess: what with *that* kind of bad neighbors her "pa" would be bringing into her life... just arguing against the idea of *anybody* being the devil's child to begin with.
@@andrewcruzsmith2343 He didn’t, but he’s just as much responsible for Tommy’s death as he is for the other 100+ people who died that night, because it was HIS plan and HIS machine
"I DID NOT KILL YOUR BELOVED!" Methinks Sara will have something to say about that, with her spaceship and team of superpowered warriors and time travel...
Why is everybody tripping about Oliver beating Nyssa when it's clear that she beat him. Go to 1:10 and you'll see that she would've won had it not been for Merlyn's interference.
2 things 1) Malcolm logic, I didn't kill Sara because ras is a killer who didn't like Sara. 2) I pretty sure he can't escape if you shoot hit in the legs or the back or his head or any major vain/artery.
Arrow still is not better them merlyn aka dark archer. He got lucky with that explosion behind merlyn. Malcolm saw the arrow headed toward him and dodged it. Malcom is still the man. but maybe one day olivver will beat him.
Andrew Petri even in their s4 fight. I feel like the choreography was bad. And the fight was cramped and no room for any fancy or cool moves. Again. Bad choreography. They just did some mirror moves and then Oliver punches Merlyn once. I feel if the fight was longer and better directed. And Oliver still won but by a bit it would have been better. We see Merlyn in legends beat Sara in doom world and land more hits on Damien in his prime when they fight. So
I hate that the writers always make Nyssa loose against Oliver, for fuck's sake, she's way stronger than him, she was a little girl when she learned to fight, are you fucking kidding me? Merlyn, I can understand that he would win against Nyssa with a lot of difficulty but srs, Oliver isn't a fucking God!!!
1:10 Nyssa was about to win. She had her sword at Oliver's throat, ready to cut, but Merlyn knocked her sword away with an arrow. So without Merlyn's help, he would've lost.
***** 1st battle: she gave Oliver more than a run for his money, shooting his quiver off and coming very close to stabbing him with her knife. 2nd battle (this one): wouldn't call this a win, Oliver was blocking and pushing and as someone else pointed out, her sword was close to his throat 3rd battle: Oliver battled her right in the open, and with some training from Merlyn + experience from first two battles...he was able to catch her off guard with a manouvre and subdue her 4th battle: Oliver, having received training from Ra's al Ghul and the League and what not, was pretty much at his peak. Not only did he fight more efficiently and deadlier,, but he blinded her with a smoke bomb and came very close to killing her. Nyssa is more than capable of defeating Oliver and anyone else....it's just what the script calls for.
well men are physically strong than women but I don't think two/three years training could beat a life time of training, Speed and Agility can count for something as well and this I'm relatively sure they could be learnt through extreme training.
+Sinister Steel u just insulted half of earth population including your mom any sisters u may have, your wife/girlfriend (I don't no want age u r but I'm assuming you will get one someday) any daughter u may have so be careful what u say
You all realize that Nyssa held her own against both Oliver and malcolm at the same time, and only lost because of the trick arrow right, I mean if it wasnt for Merlyn showing up, nyssa would have killed Oliver @1:10 I mean she is a badass.
Taylor S, ehh no if you slow the video down, you will see that Oliver noticed merlyns presence before nyssa, hence why he stopped fighting while she had a knife to his throat, in season 2 nyssa had him in the same position and Oliver still beat her Oliver was definitely above nyssa while Malcolm was above Oliver
What I hate is that Oliver in fact handed Nyssa her butt! She's been an assassin for all of her life, a man that went to an island for 5 years and came back strong wouldn't hold a candle to her! Malcolm Merlyn? Okay, I see that happening (a LITTLE) but Oliver doesn't make any sense. Yes, Oliver has skill, amazing skill, and he's stronger than Nyssa (she is a woman, we aren't meant to be stronger than men) but Nyssa is Heir to the Demon, and she's had harder training than that! And, it's a proven fact that brain always beats brawn. Nyssa should be able to take on Oliver and Malcom without breaking a sweat... A little dissapointed ;-( and wishing that it would've been more realistic!
Oliver's been training for eight years - he's very skilled and very strong. Plus, he's had to up his game to take down Slade's army, and he's been fighting bad guys in Starling nearly every day. He's going to be near the peak of human ability. Notice that last time the two fought, Nyssa had the upper hand - until Oliver grabbed her arm, made it a contest of pure strength, and won in seconds. Brawn doesn't beat brain by itself, but when you have two very skilled combatants, brawn will be the deciding factor.
First of all, nobody actually won that part of the fight. Oliver was dodging the entire time. I agree she should have won, but it needn't be as extreme as you make it out to be. There are a few possible reasons I can come up with for this. 1) The thing is, we don't know how intense her training was when she was a kid - Ra's isn't exactly the best parent, but he loves his kid(s) and knows how much people can take. 2) We're told that Oliver had the right drive to learn to fight the way he did; it's possible that Nyssa didn't and needed more training to make up for that. 3) Nyssa trained for 25ish years *in the same place*. If the League has a specific style of fighting, she may have plateaued. 4) Oliver is a quick learner - he learned basics and a little more from Slade in like 2 weeks - and had almost entirely practical experience. Nyssa could have been in Nanda Parbat until she was like 20+. 5) We don't know how intense League training is. I'd assume it's pretty intense, as Sara became almost as good as Nyssa in a few years - which actually lends credence to the "plateau" argument. But, Oliver has basically been training or practicing nonstop for 6 years, and training pretty extensively before that on Lian Yu.
Eden Montang Nyssa is an impulsive fool, how do you figure she is the "brain" and Oliver is the "brawn"? Also Oliver completely embarrassed her in S3 after training with Ra's for only a month. Sorry but he's just stronger, more skilled, and talented.
Nyssa should at least give a better fight than this They gave Huntress a better fight scene with canary, who is one of the leagues best fighters, but I still love the show
Agreed. The power/strength/skill balance is almost always off....Huntress being able to stand the slightest chance against Canary. Oliver taking down Slade, but getting beaten by Cupid. This, and a bunch of other senseless examples. It's annoying but I still love the show lol
Seriously And when will the new canary learn to fight better It's sort of sad that first season she kicked ass when Oliver first returned and now she is like a rookie I love it anyway too
That confused me, too. She easily took out those bodyguards and saved Tommy and Oliver, and now she's back to square 1 it seems. Inconsistent haha but I guess street thug > security guard :P
Malcolm claims that "no prison can hold the members of the League of Assassins". Not that I wanna question this statement but I wonder: How could he possibly escape from an underground cell that can be locked by an huge iron safe hatch? That bugs me how would it be possible, I mean, Deathstroke certainly won't escape the island.
This is probably a dumb question but who feeds all these prisoners? Do they go to the bathroom? I know these are things that are not really cared about in pretty much any show....but I mean I know Oliver/Team Flash don't spend ALL (if any) of their time monitoring their captives. So how are they surviving? With the metahumans I guess *maybe* a stretch would be that they don't require food, and I thought that could be the case for Slade, except he isn't a Mirakuru soldier anymore so he needs food/water like everyone else. *Sorry lol these little things always make me wonder
It's an ARGUS facility; presumably they have staff. Actually, the latest trailer shows they do: Slade is wearing an ARGUS jacket, whereas before he only had a T-shirt.
Given that Oliver and Talia were both in Slabside. I wonder how Merlyn or Prometheus would’ve handled being locked up in the super max prison if they were sent there?
Yeah I like the "freshness" of it. But really, Ra's, Deathstroke, Huntress, and some others are all villains mostly belonging to Batman or someone else. Not all but a memorable few.
+theparadox112793 With the exception of Ra's al ghul, I doubt any of these villans will ever get a chance to appear in the movies or DC will never allow a batman tv show. He is reserved for the movies. And wasn't it green arrow who damaged Slade's eye in one of the comics?
You're already in a far more controlling prison, Malcolm; the only way out is to *quit*; violence is an addiction, pure and simple, as is any sinful conduct; so the only way out is to endure the consequences of refusal; the "withdrawal" symptoms thereof... not easy. Not by a long-shot, but vital; and jail, to a man like yourself, would be a rest-home for recovery from your addiction to violence that results... there is no out by cultivating it, it must be extinguished, or; better yet: so completely subjugated as to no longer pose any possible threat, certainly not to your own children. You saw, Mr. Merlyn, precisely how her father, by bringing bad men into her company, so thoroughly messed his own daughter up completely inside her skull; do you seriously want that kind of insanity for your own child, nay, *children*, yes, even the brother of hers that you caused the death of: your own *son*, who is now basically best known as a *ghost*, as he is separated from his body until the resurrection of the dead?! I don't think you'd want that; and that kind of trajectory, as your intended mutual victim would or could explain, could easily so completely mess up a young lady as to turn her *sodomite*- which may well be what happened to Nyssa there.
I'd have used a different phrasing in Malcolm's shoes; namely summed up as "I did not kill your lover, you stupid sodomite fool!" in the rebuke- as he would know about her past lifestyle.
Even though this battle is impressive, I really do not like the way Arrow makes the female fighters always lose to the men, they are so sexist, I think that Oliver and some strong characters should sometimes get their asses kicked badly in order to make the two genders equal.
+Orges Berisha Its not about male or female its about major characters winning against minor characters. Oliver is the main protagonist and Malcolm is the most likely the main antagonist of the final season.
And plus Malcolm gave Oliver a serious but-whoopin even though Oliver won both of their encounters and while Nysa is RA's daughter Malcolm was Ra's right-hand man before he betrayed him. And Oliver is just the most strategic and clever in hand-to-hand combat shown by the way he defeated Malcolm and deathstroke even though at that time they were much better combatants and even deathstroke who had just been cured was still giving heavy blows to Oliver. Oh and also shown when oliver first fought Ra's and managed to get in a strike in the end.
Considering that it's the island Oliver was rescued from it's safe to assume that Malcom studied up on the island a bit in case Oliver trapped him there like he did Slade.
Even though Meryln said no prison can hold him, he's wrong. Team Flash's Particle accelerator prison can, as long as no one lets him out and since the cells are 100,000 times stronger than Earth's magnetic field.
Nyssa is a great fighter but why do they make her appear weak? She should be handling Oliver and malcom like no tomorrow. They made Sarah this bad ass but you make someone whose been training for 20+ yrs average? Idgi.
Not so awesome guy, no Nyssa wasn’t going to win, Oliver noticed Malcolm was there which is why he looked elsewhere while Nyssa had a knife to him. If Malcolm never showed up then Oliver would have blocked the knife because remember in season 2, Nyssa had Oliver in a similar defense less position but Oliver turned the tables
