One of my favorite moments is when Moriah Queen died. Not because her character was used as a puppet for Merlin, but because of Slade's respect for her before killing her. Slade didn't want to but knew for the sake of his revenge and damage Oliver, he did what he believed he had to at the time.

I stopped mid season 2 BUT I honestly can't tell if I would have enjoyed the experience of watching Season 3 more than I have enjoyed the experience of hearing about it for the first time in this video

Firstly, thank you for this. I stopped watching after season 5 and didn’t feel like watching a whole ton of episodes to know what happened. I saw the first few episodes of 6 but after I saw that the whole island blowing up with everybody on it didn’t really affect any major characters I decided to be done. I realized that the story writers didn’t really know how to write compelling stories. Also I totally forgot a bunch of plot points, like how Oliver is part of the Russian mob. Second, WOW this show is bonkers. I appreciate what the CW’s done with their connected universe and whatnot, but Arrow really suffered after they went more comic book-y. Green Arrow, like Batman, can totally work in either a “realistic” or super powered setting, but the world that was set up in season 1 and most of season 2 just didn’t really fit in the rest of the shows. In a vacuum I really like Oliver’s friendship with Barry and even Kara, but if you told me back in season 1 that the same character that was hunting down corrupt people in power with a bow and arrow would soon be fighting space Nazis from another dimension with his super powered alien friend (also from another dimension) I wouldn’t have believed it. Don’t get me wrong, I totally understand that shows evolve over time and everything, but Arrow didn’t make it work. I don’t know about anyone else, but I like to just imagine that the show ended after season 3. The Arrow is “dead”, Olicity is driving off into the sunset, and the city is left in the good hands of the rest of team Arrow. Arrow was the first live action super hero show I saw so it’ll always have a special place in my heart, and I remember really liking it for a while, but looking back it’s maybe not as good as I remember.

This recap makes it clear that the DC tv writers don’t know how to do a villain of the season unless it’s a villain with the exact same super power. Speedster vs. Speedster in The Flash. Archer vs. Archer in Arrow.

How extremely how convenient that the events in the 5 years following Oliver’s return coincides with the plot points, in order, of what happened to him on the island so that the flash points always correspond to what’s happening in the present day.
