@@MsSkipperkim One could even say a defensive player, but i thought the same. If the ball is out before the cough cough, penalty, then how can it be roughing the passer?
@@johnklein6040:Exactly. You are no longer the QB once the ball is no longer possessed by your team. I mean, the only thing that could have been a more flagrant misapplication of roughing the passer is if a QB throws an INT and benefits from a roughing the passer call because he gets his clock cleaned trying to make a tackle. One of the worst calls I've ever seen. I understand why the crowd was so incised. The ref was lucky to get out of there alive. The crowd was on the verge of becoming an angry mob. We all know what angry mobs are capable of doing. On the other hand, I think Chris Jones did a stellar job of maintaining his cool. Two weeks ago he get slammed with an unsportsmanlike for talking smack. Who knows if it was truly warranted, It was a call that severely impacted the results of the game. Now this week he is targeted again or so one might argue. Not so long ago he would have reacted differently. So pleased he kept his mouth shut and remained focused on the game. He is a key component in the defense, Without him the Chiefs are going to have a hard time winning close games. He does make a difference. There's really no one on the team to fill his shoes. He plays about 75% of all defensive snaps. He is needed out there as much as possible. Good job, Chris. Way to maintain your cool and your professionalism.
They werent that loud in the super bowl when they were getting spanked and bs penalties called but because it was tom brady they only cried because they lost.
Julian Edelman muffed a punt in the 4th quarter of the AFC Championship game in 2019 at Arrowhead and they gave the ball to the Patriots anyway and the crowd booed louder than this then.
There’s a 100% chance they broke their own record for loudest crowd in this sequence. They need to have Guinness at every game to record the decibel level.
I was there. Something strange happened. It wasn't like it got loud as a jet engine does, it was more like the sound itself just stopped working. My son-in-law was screaming inches from my ear, but it was as if the air was so "full" of sound that it couldn't "carry" anymore.
@@draftmagicagain1000 U can't possibly "Rough The Passer" if the Passer is not in possession of the ball. At that point, the Passer becomes the Defender!
Bad call by refs! Mr pretty boy don’t touch me Brady started this roughing the passer stupidity it’s called sacking a QB !! Miami Dolphins Tua had legit call but it was way he landed on his head but Jones no way roughed Carr he didn’t put his body weight on Carr! Refs wise up !
This game was so live. The crowd literally influenced the calls in the 2nd half. Terrible call but absolutely spectacular job done by the crowd living up to the best fans in football monicker.
@@CapnRiggs2k5 yeah but they didn't say anything at all about the Tom Brady hit on that falcons guy, they are really trying to say that was the penalty, I don't think it's rigged I just think that they one offenses to do well and score a lot of points, and they don't want Star players out for a concussion protocol. I get all that but this is not gaining fans this is ruining football, is it worth gaining new fans that don't want to see those vicious hits and lose fans that have been watching football their whole lives
I’ll never forget being there for this. This literally changed the game for us. I’ve never heard it this loud even when I’ve been to multiple AFC championships there.
I think the officials should at least owe us an explanation. In the same way a coach makes himself available to the media after a loss to discuss what happened, officials should have to be made available to answer for their BS
Yeah. That call was awful. Amazing how Chris Jones kept his cool. I am a Raiders fan and it's a bad call. Raiders lost a game vs Patriots in 2002 Divisional Round because of the officials!
So I know this gets said after every terrible roughing the passer call, but this is legitimately the worst one I’ve ever seen in my life. Like, there isn’t even an argument you can make.
@@newnightwatch4502 but the ball is loose, so why would that be a problem? He’s going for the ball, and then has possession of it, not even tackling Carr anymore
This was the best football game i’ve ever been to. I can confirm that everyone booed for a solid 20 minutes straight. And i can confirm that ref was on a hit list after this game
Respect to Chris Jones though, he didn't say a word and just got back to business!! And God damn I'm proud of this City. It's about time man, I feel like we been slacking on the crowd noise. WE BETTER HAVE THIS ENERGY NEXT WEEK !!!!!
Its happened so many times to him too even the the Colts game they ruled against him and it possibly lost us the game and he was still totally professional every time. I would be so mad in that moment
He was barking at the official as he came off the field on the 3rd down stop any other situation he probably gets flagged there or the crowd was so loud he didn't hear it
That play by Jones is literally why someone plays a position their entire life and becomes a professional. It goes in their reel of top plays for their entire career, and the NFL and incompetent refs rob it from them.
This is exactly why I love Kansas City! Cause I don't care what anyone says the crowd absolutely got the Chiefs back in the game! The booing pumped up the Chiefs cause they felt the same way. And once Wright hit that 59 yard field goal that just pumped everyone up even more! Then you know the rest!
refs literally handed the raiders 3 free points in 2022. We have quantum computers, rocket ships that fly and land autonomously, and artificial intelligence but refs still do this crap
Your exactly right. I looked at my boy sitting next to me and said well it's the Raiders ass now. Doubt he heard it though that place was going batshit crazy. The only other time I heard it that loud was on Donta Halls kickoff return for a td vs the Colts in the 2003 playoff game.
Never, EVER, piss off Chiefs fans like that during Raider week. Chris Jones hardly had to say anything on the sideline, the fans took care of it for him. 🤣
@@aa1bb2cc3dd4 idk if he gets a little wall of DBs around him as a shield it can happen lol, its happened before a couple times you see it in big man touchdown highlight reels very rare though
Cheffers was the referee of Super Bowl LV, which was his second Super Bowl assignment as a referee. Cheffers and his crew were widely criticized for the high number of penalties as well as controversial calls made against the Kansas City Chiefs. The 9penalties and 95 yards enforced against Kansas City, in the first half, were both NFL records for a Super Bowl. The first half penalties resulted in six first downs for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers which was also an NFL record
The rule reads "unnecessarily falls on top of the QB while he is throwing a pass or has just thrown a pass". It doesn't matter if it was a fumble or not. According to the rule it was a penalty. I don't like the rule, but it is the rule.
@@theslasherof78 Go read the rule. It was a legit penalty. Jones didn't do it with malice, but stop whining already. The rule is what it is. Carr was in the process of throwing, doesn't matter if it came out before hand. You can't let your weight fall on top like that. JOnes was called for it and it was the right call . If this happens to Mahones, don't dare bitch about it then if you're going to be a bitch going the other way now.
@Music Releases I'm sorry, but there is no possible way in this life that you are a Chiefs fan if that is your outtake from that night. Tom Brady literally chased down Mathieu, yelled and screamed obscenities in his face and then Mathieu got flagged. The announcers said going into halftime that the refs talked about it and they're going to be calling the plays a bit more evenly from then on....
The officials are probably thinking they called it correctly based on the new rules. As ridiculous as the new rules are, they blew the call even based on the new rules. One of the worst calls I've ever seen. The officials should be ashamed of themselves.
My favorite part about this was when they booed after every single play after that, booed the FG, and then booed after kickoff, and then proceeded to boo the ref even when the RAIDERS commited a penalty.
I dont like the chiefs but i was completely with yall. That call was felt in the depths of my soul and the souls of all the football world. Unacceptable officiating they need to stop this. I feel like if an actual riot started those refs might back down for once instead of power tripping
It’s one thing to be in a room with 2 people that don’t like you. Different ballgame when ur locked in a room with 80,000 people who are actively telling you that you suck.
My thoughts exactly. Chris Jones is a better man than I am because I would have spent the rest of the game trying to end Derek Carr's career to make a point to the NFL and the refs. When asked about all of my dirty plays for the rest of the game my response would have been "If I'm going to get flagged even when I'm doing everything I can to avoid hurting the QB anyway, I might as well commit the foul they are claiming I'm committing. Fuck you AND the horse you rode in on Carl."
if this happened in the playoffs, i would genuinely say that this is the worst call in nfl history. but i’m still not gonna put it above the 2018 no call
I’m remember watching this game thinking, “Good thing the Chiefs won, otherwise those refs are going to need a U.S. Marshall escort out of Kansas City.
Players, and Coaches, get held accountable. Referees never get held accountable. And the people in NYC who made these rules in the first place ;doesn't get held accountable. Picking and choosing to enforce rules on particular players is ruining the NFL.
@@HurrikaneBEA5T if it was a touchdown would you say something differently? The points are the points, they didn't lose any yards and only GAINED yards from that call. We are judging off result here homie
It was massively electric!! In hindsight.. I’m glad they made that bad call . It was what the team needed . That crowd ignited a 🔥 Fire all through that stadium 🏟 Kelce said it was actually rumbling and shaking, and that lit 🔥 the flame for the team to get into this fight!
What had added even more passion for us fans with this game was the fact that we were playing the Raiders... the oldest and most hated rival. It's always personal every game the Chiefs-Raiders play each other doesn't matter how good or bad the teams are. Some of the louder games I have been to were Raider games
