Karson Williams yea if they made the right call on the dez Bryant catch we would still be on the cowboys and that 2014 season they would’ve won the super bowl
I honestly have eternal sympathy for the Saints with that no called pass interference. It wasn't just a random play, it was the game winning drive in the playoffs with their last bit of time left. It was criminal.
Imagine the steam shooting from my ears watching that play! There was a stretch right there of about 3 out of 4 seasons where we should've been in the SB, not saying we would've won or were just so dominant like the recent Chiefs. But we're the biggest "should've, could've, would've" dynasy outside of the Bills making and losing 4 straight SB. We went back to back to back ONE play away from advancing be it the Vikings TWICE the Diggs walk-off td in 2017, the OT fg in 2020, and here vs the Rams at least the others I can stomach we just didn't seal the deal, but to have it in the championship game taken away by the refs? Not pre-season, mid-season fighting for a final post-season spot or even wild card or divisional but the dang conf chip?!?! Just for the Rams to give 1 of the most boring performances vs the Pats anyway? At least we would've put points up 😂.
I remember watching that and laughing just because earlier that season they played the Steelers and got handed that game with horrible game changing calls. Kept Steelers out of the playoffs too. Live and die by the refs lol they deserved it imo
That Saints vs Rams no call I believe was the worst no call in NFL history. Defender never played the ball, and literally just rocked the receiver as the ball was closing in while the receiver was playing the ball
As a die hard Saints fan that no call was the worst ever. The ref was actually looking straight at it and never threw the flag. That cost us another trip to the superbowl.
Its a simultaneous catch, and that goes to the offense. It was a good call in the end, the big issue is the two different calls on the field at the time of the catch. That's the controversy, they made the right call after review, but horrible miscommunication on the field.
@@SimonPegg2000 It wasn't a simultaneous catch if the receiver had to double clutch the ball...which he did... The DB didn't have to, thus had the interception.
😭 drew brees getting intercepted got them to lose , also we gonna forget all the no calls that favor the saints lmaoooooo saints db was tripping and grabbing face mask . Saints fans still coping
Would’ve made the Super Bowl and would’ve seen Brady and Brees go head to head, screwed up by one missed call and we had to watch Jared Goff play in a super bowl
I'ma saints fan too. If that was pass interference we coulda won the game. First Rams, second Vikings that we got screwed over a missed call in two straight years.
@@Nate-hv2ub As a Rams fan I thought this was miss call they should have made the call and honestly I didn't even watch the game cuz I knew my team was going to lose against you guys cuz we lose in the regular season then my brother-in-law told me that we won the Rams won then later on on the social media people were talking shit about the Rams and I was like okay and let me go see what's going on and I found about that there was a miss call so I watched the game and I was shocked myself like wait they missed the call that was wide open to see but apparently the ref didn't see it (Sorry for the lost even though it wasn't our fault it was the refs fault)
He did the same thing in 2022 november in London when he played as a receiver. 😂😂😂 The YTube video is named "Tom Brady Plays Receiver But Fails Horribly & Gets A Flag"
I don't get the judgement on roughing the QB calls. I've seen qbs get manhandled and they don't call it. Then a QB gets hit clean or gets love tapped they call it. There's no pattern to it what so ever.
You know, every old/new refs should be required to take a annual NFL test to see if they are qualified to ref in the next season. The only bad thing is that there will be no refs in the next season.
That’s not what they said. You act like they said the calls were wrong. They said they would be under the revised rule. They 100% were not catches under the rule at the time. They’re lack of understanding of the rule by fans, not bad calls.
@12BJJohnson what are you talking about he had full posession he even had his feet down and posession when he came down, when he went to get up to celebrate the ball came out
What’s worse is later in the game rodgers got whipped around by a defender and there was no call so it cut to clay Matthews and he was just shaking his head.
Surprised bottlegate isn't on here. The one play I've seen when they actually went back to review a play after the offense already ran a different play.
@@seminoleboy96 nah because there’s hella collateral damage in the way lol, other fans, players, coaches, camera people, reporters, all of which have nothing to do with the call.
@@BrentLA dead ass they make the right call that its pass interference ball is moved up to what 4 yard line Saints score a touchdown win the game and go to the Superbowl and seeing how that game went I genuinely think the Saints would have beaten the Patriots
Gabe Bosscher the refs missed 2 clear Facemasks on that would’ve given the rams first downs stop complaining after what happened with bountygate u got ur just deserved
So many crybabies 😭 ....you’ll never be able to take human error out of it. It happens. Quit bitching, because none of you would’ve gotten these calls right yourselves. These days, there’s probably more pressure on the refs than the players. They know if they mess up you’ll all whine. Saints fans: You guys had every chance to win, you didn’t. Shut up already
As a Packer fan that call will forever haunt me. I will say I never experienced support from EVERY fan base like I did that day bc EVERYONE knew the Packers got robbed like 3 times on that call. Smh.
As a lifelong Pats fan I often wonder if Tom Brady's career would have gone down the same path had that one call VS the Raiders gone the other way? If they lost that game would Bledsoe have come back and claimed his starting QB job the following season? Even if Brady kept that starting job, would his confidence have been damaged, affecting his next few seasons? Obviously we'll never know, but sometimes it's interesting to wonder "what if?" I mean, who knows, maybe Brady would be an unknown today if the original call held up. It certainly is possible.
He will still have his skill, but idk man many teams future dynasties get obliterated and blown down because of a superbowl loss. It took brady 5 years to come back to the superbowl when he lost to the giants as an 18-0 team, if he won the story might have been different.
no, it would be the same, i watched around that time, brady was keeping his qb position, if we nearly went to the sb with him that meant great things in the future, we didn't make anything next season and missed the playoffs, did we kick him out then? we needed a bad ending to humble our franchise and flip the switch on
@Kyle Deming what do you mean?? It was the worst no call in history as if he hadn’t hit him he would’ve gotten a first down, also the rams weren’t a bad team they had a good offense so your point is invalid.
As you should. Your team most likely goes to the Superbowl. Brees was still awesome. But you never know if you're gonna get back. Those calls ruin teams seasons. Ridiculous. The bryant one was bad too. Remember matthews getting those all the time. Like what do you do. Not the same but the bills/chiefs game. Not saying the bills win, as i think they weren't ready for that game but the wrs were being tackled and held so bad. None were called. Then vs the bucs they called all of them. It was great to see but then i was like where were these calls when we played them. It was a game to go to the freaking Superbowl.
As a Falcons fan I still come back to watch the saints getting screwed and can say that was the worst call in at least recent history. Especially for the super bowl trip.
@@JaRa911 Problem is, you are admitting it was a rule by calling it a "Tuck Rule". It was a bad rule, that the refs did get right. The next year that rule was gone, and it was now a fumble going forward. It had gone against the Patriots earlier in the year also.
Refs loved them some Brady and Pats. On top of that being a fumble, Brady should have been called for tripping when he tried to trip the defender going for the FUMBLED ball!
That ‘14-‘15 playoff season was wild in the NFC. Lions had the controversial DPI flag picked up for Dallas and ended up losing, then the next game Dallas has the Dez “no-catch” play, against the Packers, and ended up losing. Then the next game the Packers have the botched catch on the onside kick by Bostic, and ended up losing to the Seahawks. Then the Seahawks lose the super bowl to the Patriots.
Omg those Clay Matthews “hits” are criminal. He didn’t do ANYTHING remotely illegal. Those refs should be fired for those calls alone. Were they from Minnesota or what!?
I saw somewhere that during this time they'd changed the rules of tackling the quarterback. They can't take the quarterback with their full weight or hit with the helmet. That's why he was penalized. It's a kind of stupid rule.
I'm honestly shocked that linebackers and D-linemen didn't see those calls and say "You know what? I'm gonna get penalized anyway, so I'm just gonna try and kill the QB and get my money's worth out of it." Maybe you get ejected with a meaningless fine, but nothing will get the NFL to change their ridiculous rules faster than seeing it cause one of their golden arms to get knocked unconscious or with a broken leg in the backfield. Goodell is a fucking joke, and the referees association is complicit
Yeah ... except that concussions and injuries really do end people's careers and ruin their lives, which is of course bad for the athletes, but also the organizations and fans don't like it if their all-star players abruptly exit stage left. In other words, the NFL got "soft" because everyone realized that people's bodies just aren't that sturdy.
It’s ridiculous how many of those were at the end of playoff games. Like, you CANNOT mess those calls up. The team’s season is on the line. Detroit could’ve won, Dallas could’ve won, New Orleans would have won, Oakland would have won. It’s stuff like that that make people think the nfl is rigged, and it’s honestly just unacceptable
Seattle's touchdown is valid by rule, whether you like it or not. Crappy rule, not crappy call. Brady's fumble, the so-called tuck rule, is, in my opinion, the worst call ever.
Honest to god the Nfl needs to make a game protest rule so if you think it’s a bad call not overturned then just refuse to play and if your wrong you receive huge fine and possible suspension but if your right the referee receives a strike 2 strikes in a career and they are fired this would make refs actually try and keep there job
What's worse is that the MLB got rid of the protesting rule and sure enough, more bad calls were made from piece of crap umpires. Your idea would work, but the NFL isn't interested in good ideas. They know that the outrage over referee decisions keeps people interested and glued to their screens, so they'll keep letting them happen time after time...
I'm a saints fan, and after the awful NFC Championship game no call, I think it's time for the NFL to put new rules saying that referees can get ejected because of how bad those referees were.
That was crap.I was so upset about that uncalled I went in my room and cried, because saints are the best team in the division I'm 15, Carolina is just a bad team.that was trash flag. targeting that's very dangerous .RAMS ARE SO TRASH THAT A WE WE TEAM CAN BEAT THEM! drop a like if Y all agree with me.
I followed the NFL since 1980, but, the constant bad calls from the officials most particularly in the last number of years has caused me to turn my back on the game. I now hate the game, the officials are awful and have the benefit of the best of technology to assist them. The officials in NY that are assisting seem to be non existent or just getting passed up. It breaks my heart to see the once great game ruined.
As long as I live, I'll never forget this game. I had money on it and watched every second of it as if my life depended on it. Little did I know, the winner had been decided before I gave the book my money in exchange for a worthless slip of paper.
I'm so glad that catch rules were changed. There were several years of full-on bullshit with those, and post-change the issues dropped like a meteor. You'd think the NFL would pick up on that and take a harder look at other contentious issues...
On 3rd down the runner got the first down by a full yard and it was ruled a half yard short. On 4th down the runner got the first down by a foot, confirmed on replay, and the runner was ruled 6 inches short.
Referees should be reviewed after every call they make. This should be done automatically after every, single, flag. Why? Because 50% of the calls they make are complete and total bullshit. The game is too regulated as it is, and the 'subjectiveness' of a referee on the sideline should be checked by the booth every, single, time. NFL referees are the absolute worst on this planet. If they are called by the booth as making a bad call, they should be forced to leave the game or surrender their pay for the day. You don't get to be a bad referee consistently and continue to profit from it.
That was a clear Jennings INT. Jennings caught it first then Tate caught it while it was in Jennings’ possession. That was the play that ended the replacement refs.
@@connorobregon90 Define "meaning much" lol. It doesn't matter if it's a preseason game or the superbowl, bad calls are bad calls. The entirety of NFL reffing really needs to be fixed.
@@jonathonnuzum2220 yeah that's my bad. I skimmed your comment thinking you were just talking trash about the saints cause I've been used to that since the NFC championship game. That's on me. And yes, that absolutely was a horrible call and should be on here
@@DanielSong39 NFL Rule 3, Section 22, Article 2, Note 2. When [an offensive] player is holding the ball to pass it forward, any intentional forward movement of his arm starts a forward pass, even if the player loses possession of the ball as he is attempting to tuck it back toward his body. Also, if the player has tucked the ball into his body and then loses possession, it is a fumble.
@@DanielSong39 Because Brady didn't tuck the ball into his body yet, according to the rule, refs made a correct decision. You can call it a bad rule, but you cannot deny refs made a correct call.
@@edmike0613 He actually did tuck the ball and it was a pump fake not a pass. I've seen Jay Cutler lose control of the ball on a pump fake and it was called a fumble.
I can tell you guys didn't watch football at that time, because we missed the playoffs next season, so it didn't start anything, maybe you guys are referring to bledsoe getting his starting qb position back? which isn't the case because bill was stern on keeping brady starting at that time, we made adjustments became healthy and won back2back, many called this tuck rule the reason we had a ring, and when we missed the playoffs everyone said it was proof it was all a fluke
