Liliev is usually quite aggressive, loud and taunting but vs Denis he was pretty humble and respectful.

either Arsen had let up his training from the previous year, or Denis upped his game (or drugs) from the previous year. Just a year before this match those 2 were pretty evenly matched, yet in these matches Denis really was overpowering. Not sure what changed from 2012 to this 2013. They had some good matches in 2012, but here, Denis just blew him away.

+james friel, The thing that was different in 2012 from 2013 is that in 2012 Cyplenkov's arm was tired because of pulling Pushkar before him. That is why Liliev won at that point. You can also see that Zoloev defeated Pushkar too at that event for the same reason that Pushkar's arm was very tired due to previously pulling Cyplenkov's hand before fighting Zoloev. In other matches you can see that Pushkar easily defeats Zoloev and Liliev too. So, there is your explanation.

ah I didn't watch any of the matches before this one, so I guess Arsen had worn his arm out in matches leading up to this one between the 2. That would explain it, because he really didn't have any strength in this match against Denis.

james friel, his arm was not worn out. He is simply weaker than Cyplenkov: this is the reason he lost. He lost in a similar manner in 2010 too. He is not a weak guy but Cyplenkov makes him look weak. Cyplenkov is too much of a monster for him. And so is Pushkar. If you watch Pushkar vs Liliev in 2012, you will see that Pushkar also makes Liliev look weak. /watch?v=A-VZPyB5Ogs

This is probably true, only off putting thing I find about praising Denis is that he was so unnatural his body couldn’t keep up

He is underrated for a good reason. His poor health prevented him to compete regularly and so his spotted presence took him out of consideration for competitive rankings. John is the greatest because of his longevity, but he is not the strongest, he struggled with Liliev if you remember. I love Devon, but I think prime John is stronger than prime Devon. And I think no one comes close in strength to prime Tsyplynkov, and Tsyplynkov that actually uses technique would be some kind of comic book character of total domination.

You cant beat roids

Ed Logan not for Denis, he looks like that because of illness, his thumb is as thick as your wrist, his body grows unnaturally. Obvious facts, everyone knows about it

Everybody things Denis is so great, but it all comes down to the main ingredient, Steroids and hgh in massive amounts for almost a decade. Yeah he trained exceptionally hard just like any bodybuilder but he trained for strength and committed to that. When he fought Devon he was probably 35-40% stronger. Well first of all he took 2 years off competing and did massive amounts of hgh and steroids to where his body literally shut down within a month of competing. While Laratt does 1 cycle, Denis is ingesting 3 cycles at once plus continously taking hgh, that's how bodybuilders do it, but they take breaks in between so their liver enzyme don't go above a certain limit otherwise you do irreparable damage or even death. I give it Denis for being a big guy, plus he started training for size and strength since he was 17, but he also has been abusing steroids and HGH for a decade. Devon might have done steroids or he might not in the past, till now we see how much bigger his arm is compared to when he fought Denis. Laratt arms gained 3 or 3.5 inches in about 6 months. Whereas you could never gain that mass and strength normally, it would take 4 years of heavy training to get. So you see how steroids and HGH are illegal because they give somebody the edge not by a small amount but by a huge advantage. NOW just because you use steroids doesn't make you the best all things equal...look at Trubin he has been abusing steroids and other peds, but so has every arm WRESTLE in the East. That's why you don't see longevity from arm wrestlers in the East. NAME ONE CHAMPION ARM WRESTLER A DECADE AGO THAT'S STILL HERE GOING STRONG LIKE LARATT, JOHN BRYZENK. LARATT WAS IN HIS PRIME FROM 2008-2012...but he's still going STRONG almost 10 years later. Liliev is gone a decade ago he was beating everybody from Denis to John B. Then I. 2013 he disappeared never to compete again. What I am saying is yeah the East European guys are stronger but they make a big s as sacrifice for being in the top 3 for a decade, and then its game over. Even that huge monster who was 58 when he faced Denis and put one of the best fights against him is still around. He's 65 and fought Denis in 2013. He's been juicing for more than a decade but even he still competing. So the next time you see these Russian arm WRESTLers professionally compete you already know that they will sacrifice everything just to be at the top and if that means using a CV shitload of performance enhancing drugs, so be it.
