Let us hope it is not as bad as the media has reported, because the media often exaggerates news. Let us hope Saka, Odegaard, and Martinelli recover quickly.

Hi Charles. Would you be averse to a Sterling/Havertz/Jesus front line against Bournemouth? Or would you still go with saka and Martinelli if they are available? I understand Bournemouth are a very good team and I’m not taking them for granted. But given the doubts over Saka and Martinelli. And the fact that the others have been training consistently at arsenal over this international break. Could it be a good opportunity to give them starts? Hopefully bring them some confidence as we enter another tough run of games

One of the more frequent causes of muscle edema: Overuse. Damn internationals threatening to ruin our season. Although they're also showing the strength of our squad. Look at the injuries, and look at who has had, and is having them. Then add the red cards - and look where we are in the league.

Hi Charles, why are players (especially ours) seemingly more susceptible to injury when out on international duty? This seems the case for years but seems counterintuitive to the fact that the Premier league is played much more often and at a more intensive pace. Our players seem to turn to mush as soon as they leave London Colney 😂

Good morning Charles I like to think of games in blocks between international breaks and set a target of points we need to get to keep up our title charge. With only a month to go until the next international break (sorry for reminding everyone) we have 4 prem games against Bournemouth, Newcastle, Liverpool and Chelsea. In the Champions league it's Shakhtar and Inter, then Preston in the cup. What points target would you set for us given the difficulty of the games? For me, it's 8 points from the prem games as a minimum but ideally more, then winning the cup games other than Inter where a draw would be acceptable given its away and they look really strong this year

Im beginning to think if a player wants to win any trophy must focus on the club for now. What’s the value of international games if they keep you from playing for your club because of injuries?

For all the complaints about playing too many games, such as preseason tours, exhibition games, and cup matches that help pay their over-inflated wages, players don't seem too concerned with all the pointless internationals they choose to play in.

I realise Nations League is awful but in a proper international competition, do you think it crosses a players mind when they go in for a tackle against a club teammate to only go in 75% as to not potentially risk injury or is it just just 100% thoughts about your country at the time?

Charles… Thomas P needs games to keep his form and fitness hence my reservations about having him as an out and out bench player. He is best after about three games when he returns to the squad and he will have to split time in a rotation to maintain his form. Is this just my paranoia?

Hi Charles, I think the novelty of Declan Rice has worn off and that's why we look at him as not performing like he used to. We haven't had a serious 6/8 in a long time so his 1st season seemed like a revelation and now we're used to him, we want him to do more.

One thing that really gets me, and I know each international manager wants to win their games. But if a valuable player gets a knock or a potential injury before or on international duty, why risk it? I know the players want to play as well. But Odegaard for me is the biggest example. Gets an injury that he had to come off for in the Villa game and then immediately plays in the Norway international. Just stupid IMO. Also, whether Martinelli is available to play or not against Peru, he should be sent back to Arsenal. Why risk a player to aggravate an injury which could rule him out for an extended period of time. Considering players are not happy with the amount of games being played. A bit of common sense here could help in the long term by not risking players.

I really wish we could just have the domestic season and then have international fixtures after it’s ended. Clubs pay these player’s wages and they are not talking about going on strike because of so many fixtures. Perhaps clubs should boycott internationals until the workload issues are addressed.
