You are such a sentimental softie!N.Williams once he perform well in training and take his chances when given then why should Martinelli or Saka be a must start?
Really feel for KT, he can’t catch a break with these injuries. He fallen into the same gunners unwanted group with Wilshere, Cazorla, Diaby etc for company. Great guy, hope he’s back soon.
Those 3 were most definitely wanted. But you can only harbour cripples for so long. You just mentioned 3 of our most loved ever players, especially Santi and Jack.
Nico can start on the left and on the right as both Martinelli and Saka will remain fresh and healthy longer if they sit every 3rd match. Arteta should not be naive in recruiting genuine talent. Nico will not come if he’s not given a guarantee of starting from time to time.
It’s because most of them aren’t god enough that’s why there bringing young players from other clubs and abroad now not all of them will make it ie. Patino he didn’t quite hit the heights in the championship a lot of them are championship level only few really impressing rn are nwaneri & maybe Lewis skelly chido too but he can’t sign a pro contract in the uk until like a year
The young players look good in the youth system, they’re not ready for elite men’s football. Even Rico Lewis at City got a decent run, bossed the field, and then dropped off a cliff. If German or Dutch or Danish clubs are banging down the door, the player isn’t good enough. We can even see the deficiency today in Saka not having developed fully at youth level.
@@angostura7797But he got run, that counts, are players are not even getting a run, Rico will come good, and be asset to City. This kid wasnt even given 15 minutes in a meaningless last day of the season against Everton, whereby we won 5 nil.
Tierney should have a conversation with Robin van Persie (Head Coach of Heerenveen) who was constantly injured at Arsenal then had a window free of injury and blossomed. A loan deal to a Dutch Club might be a good choice? New environment, English widely spoken and close to the UK?
I think we need to cut ties with KT. Just accept that he will go on a free. I really liked him. I wonder whether we played him more. Would he have gotten so many injuries. Arteta is the reason why these young players are leaving Arsenal. Duberry could have been the Saka backup.
Charles ......... you spoke about the sort of wage demands that a deal involving Nico Williams would entail and the problems it would cause amongst the other senior players. This is why I don't like or agree with the media throwing around how much players earn when they sign for or sign a new deal with a football club. This sort of thing should be private and not out in the public domain.
main priority for arsenal should be a versatile attacking mid that can play L8 role and cover wing if needed, Xavi Simons if available or Eze, would take us up another level and give us a different option to help take down low blocks
We just couldn't be that bad in getting decent commercial values from young kids. What's the point of operating an academy with practically no paths to the first team and 'talented' kids go for peanuts or nothing ?
Young players leave prem clubs every single year, how exactly can we convince every player we offer a contract to? In the case of some they aren't good enough
@@JurgenFlop What kind of a question is that? If you are good enough, then you will want to play under a manager like Arteta. Also, we all want to win things, but we want to play academy players that aren't up to the level yet.
@@rayanderson1941With this mindset Saka wouldve never got into the team and also left on a free. No one said they have to play every game, but you have to give them a chance/show them a pathway
What an unsustainable system; a player gets injured on international duty that benefits mainly his local FA and EUFA/FIFA coffers and is then just sent back to his club to sort out the mess! Do EUFA or the FA bear any financial responsibility?
I think, not sure, either FIFA, UEFA, or the player's national side is going to pay some parts of his wages when a player got injured on international duty. I'm not 100% sure.
We could’ve probably got 20-30m back on Tierney. Now it’s probably about 10. That said, the most important thing is that he makes a good recovery. Haven’t been this gutted a player didn’t work out for us since probably Wilshere. ESR is another one it’ll be with a heavy heart to see him go. Wish Kieran nothing but the best tho, he gave a lot for us and he wore the shirt with pride. Was one of the first players we’d signed in a long time that wasn’t a spineless pushover and actually had a bit of authority. Good luck KT, Tesco bag n all.
Feel like Arsenal have made an absolute pig's ear of these academy players. Cozier-Duberry should definitely have been given a chance - plays just like Saka
Hi Charles, I am truly gutted for KT. Such a good lad and a top top footballer. I have no doubt our club will support him, but still KT would be very very sad. Best wishes for him. Coyg
Hi Charles, would you be going to the United States(Los Angeles in in particular) this summer for Arsenal v United? Arsenal posts ticket are still available yesterday & I'm definitely heading there next month to watch my first ever arsenal game live on the carpet. So excited 😊 Abubakar Naibi
I love Tierney as a player, but I was all for selling him this summer due to the injuries etc. But selling Tierney will now be nigh on impossible this summer I'd have thought. I wonder if Edu/Arteta will now not look to sign a left back and use Tierney for this year and re-visit it next year when maybe Hato is available?
Disappointing that we weren’t in for Olise but I’m relieved he hasn’t gone to Chelsea. Have you heard anything about potential Palace move for Reiss Nelson as a replacement Charles?
Charles gives off so much “Company Man Energy” always defending the club even when the criticism is legitimate. Arteta’s youth policy should rightfully questioned. You can do better Charles, respectfully
Wow, breaking news........ William Saliba is a World class defender!! Who would've thought that.....🤔 The French national set up have finally given big Will a chance and they've finally seen how good he really is.......... at just 23 years old!! Imagine how good he is going to be for us in 2,3,4 years time.
Hi Charles, do you think that Tierney's most recent injury will finally be enough proof to show "some" Arsenal fans that we should avoid Pedro Neto like the plague, considering Tierney is fit and available approximately 17-billion times more than the RW who tries to run without hamstrings in either leg? Or will those same "some" fans still argue that Pedro Neto -- with snapped, torn, frayed, bruised, pulled, shredded, mutilated hamstrings -- is a good signing even though he's injured 19-billion times more than Tierney? .... Olise too expensive, and X Simons & Nico W neither 'precisely' a left-footed, right-winger -- I'd like us to go after Takefusa Kubo who played with Tierney at Sociedad, is also friends with Zubimendi, and will likely be pleased to be teammates with Tomiyasu.
Stupid fellow fans: he hasn’t win anything yet, proper manager would have won something already Stupid fellow fans: and he also don’t play kids “You just have to win major silverware with kids! That’s all! Is it so hard? Also fuck the meritocracy and the fact that even Elneny and Cedric atm are better than MLS, Ethan, Sousa, Walters, ACD” Some brains just can’t process that there are conundrums and situations with not 1 perfect solution, and you have to chose. Imagine we played kids more and achieved 3-4 place. Meltdown in fan base would have been epic.
Hi Charles 👋, I hope all is good 👋 👦 ☺️ 👍 😊 🙏. Bad news about Kieran Tierney injury. I hope he recovers and returns back to play ▶️ when he is fit and ready. Have a good day Charles 😂. Arsenal rocks 🏆 🙏 🤲 🪨 🎸 😎.
Such a shame for KT. Unfortunately he's probably going to enter the chat about those players whose Arsenal careers were curtailed or diminished by injury. Add to that Jack, Rosicky, Abou Diaby, Santi and further back Paul Vaessen.
Thanks always for the nice vid Charles! TNAT reported on his patreon that Arsenal are looking at Eze. Was at our youth ranks, he will definitely be a good player to complement Odegaard on that left 8 role! How do you think of signing Eze this summer? Only issue is now that Olise has gone to Bayern, Palace will come out strong for Eze. Surely they don't want to lose all two quality players in one transfer window won't they? And how do you view the possibility of using ESR,Nketiah or Nelson as a trade player in these kind of PL to PL club transfer deals? Palace surely loves Nketiah and also hold interest in ESR and Nelson. They will want to replace Olise and Eze with certain players.
Cozier-Duberry isnt the first and wont be the last youth player to move on whilst Arsenal invest in outside players aged in their early 20s, in every position bar central midfield perhaps the path to a first team place is 'blocked' by an almost world class 23/24 year old atm. This the reality of CL quality sides; individuals will still break thru (Saka, Foden & Zaire-Emery at PSG spring to mind) but these are the exception, clubs competing at the very cant afford to take risks on potential in other than the most meaningless of games, thats where we are now, we shouldnt complain or expect anything else.
Love the content, purely hypothetical would you sell Gabi Martinelli if it meant bringing in Neto & Williams. I know you’re a big fan of Gabi so was interested in your thoughts. I know this would never happen.
Truly sad for this young man Tierney This is the reason Arsenal MUST NEVER under any circumstances buy any player with an injury record So players like Pedro Neto are an absolute NO
Blah blah blah! Charles, I wish you were this understanding and sympathetic over Thomas Partey's injuries. Never hear you call Tierney 'injury prone' and doubt if he can stay fit when he clearly can't and is actually been as bad if not worse than Partey. Any how wishing Kieran a speedy recovery.
That’s a big club. It’s hard for young players. They can’t be given chances simply because of their potential they need to earn it. And in previous cup runs Walters and other kids just didn’t perform. If they perform in training and have the mentality to be the best, I am sure Mikel would take notice. How much is it the agent pushing for this exit. As not all kids will go on to a career above League One level. So they may wanna ‘cash in their chips’ a year early than find out.
KT needs an extended rehab…he has hurt the hamstrings over and over…tricky injury…maybe extended rest and lots of rehab will fix the issue…wonder if he never truly recovered before coming back…gutted for him….hope Zinny keeps it up so the market expands for him
Charles, I'm a great fan, but please don't blindly back Arteta, he's horrible with the academy players, and we are losing too many of them, and only going to get worse. Even just giving this kid 20 minutes of game time against Everton in a meaningless last game of the season, would have probably influenced him to stay. Arteta doesn't even give these kids enough play time in preseason.
On poor old Keiran Tierney........ This is hard for me to say as I think he's a fantastic player, if I was Edu, I would seriously be thinking of paying him off and letting him go if we can't get him sold or out on loan this summer, it's going to be more cost effective in the long run.
hey CW hope all is well, why is it that we cant sell players the fact that Lokonga might go out on loan it won't surprise me if Reiss, Eddie and ESR go out on loan as well where Chelsea in the other hand sell Maatsen for 35 million and he doesn't even have PL experience. Ashwin from Cape Town
It shocks me how people still think Neville has anything relevant to say about football. It's because he speaks so confidently and this fools casuals into thinking he knows what he's talking about. I'm surprised he lasted so long at Valencia. No Fergie player has gone onto do anything in management, even Fergie pundits can't tell you what's happening tactically in a game.
We need to do better in terms of rotation and bringing players through. We need a squad of 30 and at least six of them should be youth players. If we want to produce a dynasty period we need to bring players through. Look at us and United in the heyday. We brought through.
I agree Arsenal will find it practically impossible to sell Tierney but also I just can’t see another club even wanting to take him on loan with his injury record.
If Nico comes in, then saka & jesus on the right side, nico and trosard on the left then move mati central..... arteta inexperience as a coach to blend the young and the established players together remain my biggest concerns...
Dear Charles, really wanted some input from you on signing arda guler to be stand in for Odegaard..if that is viable for arsenal..and swoop the second underrrated real Madrid player
Garry Neville's comment just goes to show why he failed at being a manager. With his grasp of the game at that level of management and with it, being able to put your your resources to their best use, just not being there.
These talented young players should be tied to long contracts. They shouldn’t be allowed to walk away for free. Chelsea makes a lot of money from selling academy players. Edu needs to keep an eye on that department.
11:44 - if you could get Neto at similar fee as Williams release clause and wages that don’t upset the team salary structure - do you pay it and take the chance with the injuries? Or view Williams as that much better option?
At some point, you have to speak it as is-young players do not see a pathway and it does not look good. Imagine losing all our best young talents and you keep defending Arteta.
Don’t have a problem with Arteta not playing young players, but I do have a problem with our loan system and contract management. We have to ensure these youngsters have the loans and contracts to get some value out of them. Look at Balogun and even Biereth. Look at Hutchinson at Chelsea. We don’t do enough.
@@trevorg2128 I was saying Balogun and Biereth are our good examples. Apart from those 2, Bielek and Ballard there’s no examples of us making money from loaning and selling academy players. Then I was saying look at Hutchinson at Chelsea, they loaned him for 1 season while he had a long contract with them and will now sell him for maybe £10-15 million. This is what we need to do
Hi Charles Why can’t we play Trossard at left 8 He is skillful can advance the ball, Can score, can enter box late Then we manage minutes between partey and Jorginho Rice starts at 6
It's hard to play youngsters when you're fighting for the prem. And then in the caraboa cup you end up having to play squad players to keep them happy which limits chances even more for the youth players. As the squad gets whittled down to high quality versatile players I suspect we will have less numbers in the main squad and more opportunities will arise so it's a shame they have decided to leave so soon.
Tierney’s injury may actually be a blessing in disguise for Arsenal next season. Given this injury I don’t see any major club giving him a serious look in this window but I still think he’s the best Arsenal’s got when it comes to attacking down the by line and putting dangerous crosses in. This is the sort of player that Arsenal missed in those tight games where teams sat back and parked the bus
Hi Charles. I am a great fan of what Arteta and Edu have done for the club but there are areas of improvement namely being able to keep key academy players that we either flip for a profit or integrate them into the first team. I think Cozier Duberry had potential to make it in the first team or sell for a tidy profit. Why couldn’t at least tie him down to a new contract and send him out on loan? Why did we allow him to run down his contract? Look at omari who Chelsea are looking to sell for 25m. Look at the academy players that city have been able to sell for millions and turn a profit. This is an area that Arteta and Edu have to improve.
Is it concerning that there’s still no word on Arteta’s new contract? I know the Euros have slowed things down but the transfer window has been open of over a week already. I was expecting it to be done by now.
Exactly. The comment on martinellli is my thought exactly. Moving from martinelli to Nico is not necessary. Keep our squad. Buy kimmick we are good to go
I doubt Kieran will leave us this summer now, merely down to the fact any club will be so put off by his injury record. For him, I would love to see a loan with an obligation to buy for a return to Celtic.
