damn, the final is one of the most hurtful moment i've experienced while being an arsenal fan. i didnt sleep at all after that match and still whining over it on my national exam day.
O2 Arsenal 06 has a special place in my heart. They were the most attractive team ever in my personal opinion. Shame they lost the final. and im a liverpool fan.
Love Henry more than anyone but these clips show how many chances he did miss throughout the competition, not just the final. Still our greatest ever player though. Let’s hope we go one further this year
@@Mossaab-kg3cj5hc5s Pires started but was subbed when Lehmann got sent off. Bergkamp was very much a rotation player by this point and I guess Arsene chose not to use him.
@@backup6355 that's right. Henry was there, Van Persie was coming through. I think the Champions League final was Bergkamp's last ever game besides his testimonial. He retired at the end of the 2006 season.
It's so nice conversing with people with actual football knowledge instead of the idiots on instagram who's vocabulary doesnt stretch further then cry and bottle
Ref gave Barcelona all the chances to win. A sending off when he could have let the goal stand and kept the game 11 against 11 and then to compound the corruption, he allows a blatant offside goal to stand. Now we all know Barcelona were literally bribing officials in this era. Disgraceful club!
@@user-lj6jp8qp7z that disallowed goal for barca doesn't vindicate or on the same level as offside to the build up of the goal that was scored by barca that led to the red card. Eto was off. The ref handicapped arsenal and handed Barcelona the trophy. Its not about crying, its about injustice and corruption. But the same old typical response from someone who wasnt on the wrong end of the decision that is huge is "stop crying".
If you think being down to 10 men in the first half is better than being 1-0 down, then your football IQ is very low. Also, I noticed that you didn't comment on the blantanly offside equaliser. You Helmet. @@user-lj6jp8qp7z
@iijumunjii Arsenal went 1-0 up with 10 Men after getting a free kick that wasn't a free kick when Eboure dived. Henry missed two 1 on 1. Arsenal had chances to kill the game when they were 1-0 up and they wasted them. Like I said, the referee screwed over both teams. Arsenal have no one else to blame but themselves for not killing the game. Again, stop crying.
Bro let me tell as someone who watched this Barcelona team get built from scratch.. The last thing you wanted vs THIS Barcelona team was for them to have their tails up, had they hone 1-0 up, It would've been the longest 90min in Arsenal history, Barcelona could score 4 or 5 goals in 30 min, they were simply unstoppable when they had their confidence up, that's why they could score and equalizer and a winner within minutes of each other. In 2005 Samuel Eto'o scored an equalizer vs AC Milan and after that I saw Barcelona toying with the best team in the world, they did something similar to Real Madrid when Ronaldinho got a standing ovation and they dispatched of Mourinho's back to back league winning Chelsea once they got the lead very easily. Believe me when I say that you did NOT want that Giuly goal to stand, they would've ripped you apart 😂😂
Nostalgia overload! Actually makes me emotional, for one this all looks so old and makes me feel so old and two this was a team like no other! None have managed to do what we did! Fingers crossed the gunners will keep up 2024’s form!
On God man Lehmann in that CL campaign was like a man possessed not conceding a single goal in the knockout stages gets sent of and his replacement was fumbling Almunia *sigh*
Nobody is saving Eto'o one on one bro. But the Belketti goal definitely saved. Eto'o scored a similar goal 3 years later in Rome vs Manchester United in the 2009 CL final, but this time with the outside of the foot as opposed to the inside. He was deadly.
Convinced if we had stayed at highbury for 5 more years after this final instead of moving and selling our best players, we would have won this competition.
I can still remember, The most difficult game was the Villarreal away from home , in the final when Campbell scored somebody I don’t know from anywhere lifted me up as a burnt offering out of excitement
One crucial part of the game that i dont see alot of people talk about and they should is Etos run which led to Jens getting sent off was actually offside
@@chinedumichael6925 fucking sucks man it really does we winning that match would have changed everything for us and Wenger would have been a Champions League winner PAAAAIINNNN!!!
Dear admin, please standby and do this kind of videos again this season, because we are going into the final again vs Barcelona.. but this year, we gonna destroy them, revenge and WIN UCL for the 1st time ever.. COYG
Couldnt forget that season! Beating that Madrid team was the beginning of something magical. Juve and Vieira were defeated in that vengeful envounter. Plus that resilient villareal team. Barca were good, but never as good as the then Arsenal team. Why do I feel like football those days was more entertainin and more thrilling?
Couldn't watch the final v Barcelona. Still too painful. The first time I ever cried for a football team. That said, didn't even remember we beat Villareal on our way to the final. Nice throwback.
That was our trophy, i still blame Wenger, for playing Ashly cole, yet Flamini had played well in previous matches, also for removing Pires instead of Lumberg. Pires would have scored a goal any time!
I’m a United fan but that run to the final was Hollywood. I was gutted when the gooners failed at the last. I always support English teams in the final except when the plastics are there
Mpbappe will never achieve the level of adoration and God like veneration Henry has in North London and even among footballers. Henry played for a city and a club and the fans will forever love him for it...
The ref disallowed a Barcelona goal tht would have put them 1-0 up. The ref f..ked over both teams. Henry missed 2 one on one. Stop crying and hold the L.
@LaCheeserie Stop crying. The ref disallowed a Barcelona goal that would have put them 1-0 up. Arsenal went 1-0 up with 10 Men after getting a free kick from an Eboure dive. Henry missed 2 one on one. Facts is facts. The referee screwed over both teams. Arsenal especially Henry didn't kill the game at 1-0. They had chances to kill the game even with 10 Men. Arsenal have no one else to blame for their defeat but themselves.
Robbed by crappy officials - eto’o was offside and ref should have given a goal rather than send lehmann off - that ruined it. AFC were the better team. Deserved to win it
@@maxsch8454 really? The team that didn’t concede a single goal the entire tournament… something no other team has ever done? Go back to bed. Even the ref admitted he made an error sending lehmann off - simple google search numb nuts
The only time we got to the final is when we played defensive, that tells you everything, every time we tried to play beautiful attacking football we got knocked out,we need to play like in European championship Greece, Portugal won the tournament, efficient in counter attack with tight defense and ugly football.
