With Arsenal you are getting an AK pattern rifle that militaries around the world still procure because of the quality and support. The only other AK manufacturer in this league is Izhmash-Kalashnikov Concern, which is no longer imported because of the ban. Saigas and Arsenals are the best mass produced AKs and worth every penny.
@@EliteManMonkey russia makes the best aks period. I have owned serbian, russian, bulgarian, hungarian and american made aks. Cugir in Romania is still just a Romanian ak. Basically low end of the European aks.
i have arsenals, but its far from my fav, and not the best performing by any means, idk if reddit was around 4 years ago but by the feeling i get from ur comment im pretty sure i know where you get ur info lol
@@st4y_mad787 Who the hell liked that bullshit you said? Currently own 2 imports and had an Npap I sold. The American made Centuries are the problem but CAI wouldn't be in business if they imported shit.
If you feel the itch to do another build video Atlanticfirearms has build kits on old AKs. I picked up a barreled Romanian kit, all the major components minus barrel and reciever are numbers matching and front trunnion is dated 1974. Got an old Romy stock set on gunbroker and a ALG trigger and it runs like a raped ape
@B real if you haven't considered the IWI Galil ACE, it's a worthy contender. They are made in Israel, imported by IWI in Harrisburg PA, and the quality is superb. Check out the Galil ACE 7.62x39 rifle, and comes in a pistol too. They are expensive but they'll last a lifetime, and then some.
Dude you don’t know what you’re talking about.the Arsenal is more of an authentic military ak than the American receiver century build...if the arsenal had wood furniture I think you would look at it differently.just because something “looks” the part doesn’t mean that it is.
Daniel W you can add any beautiful wood furniture you want. Do a google search of photos for “Arsenal Wood Furniture AK”. Get one! It’ll last forever and you can shoot a nice rifle for life!
@Daniel W yes yes yes, a little spendy at 129 bucks but go to Atlantic firearms and look for polish milled AK furniture, holds cleaning kit, and everything. It's mill surp and it is in great shape. Also holds a cleaning rod, I got some for my arsenal Sam7r
From what I understand the Arsenal receiver is built in America using the Bulgarian forging specs. Best receiver for production rifle? Most likely. I forgot where or who but moresy, however spelled builds receivers for nodak or childers. Both are considered top tier for American builds. I seriously have too much shit to retain to remember exactly but that’s the basics. Currently the most authentic AK you can get is the z pap. They come with their country of origin build with internals and the magazine body. The spring, follower, OR mag plate and follower are American for 922 compliance. Rest is pure YUGO... maybe some bullshit grip, brake, gas block or some shit but internally and furniture wise it’s the most complete import
The receiver is made, milled and mostly assembled in Bulgaria and then imported to the US. The sas 7 or something like that is a Bulgarian receiver milled and assembled in the US. Two different models.
It depends what you're looking for. The original AKs were more like the Arsenal rifles, so us AK guys tend to hold it in high esteem as even Kalashnikov himself praised the Bulgarian rifles as some of the finest made.
*Sean Havok* is your century Al Wasr, a Ras 47, or a C39/C39V2? I'm asking because Ras 47s are literally dangerous, as can be the C39, however the Wasr is a GEM that is amazing and totally underrated for no reason.
It’s basically a Bulgarian AR M1 without select fire. This is the closest you will get to a gun that is actually being fielded in hot zones around the world. The Bulgarians are selling these in the Middle East, so technically this is a weapon of war.
Sean I've been watching your videos and I also have a scar 17s. Is that scoop a 1x4? If so how do you like it? I was thinking 1x6. I just haven't been wanting to pony up 1600 for the vortex.
It's 5 hours of cold hammer forging and milling/machining into each rifle. Takes 2 hours to cold hammer forge each one from my understanding with talking to Arsenal reps.
I've owned and fired numerous century AKs and other guns imported and/or refurbished by Century Arms. My father was a class 3 dealer for over 20 years and we live in Boca where Century is headquartered. I remember when I was a teenager we would visit the warehouse and check out all the newest stuff. Back then it was all surplus, there was all kinds of surplus handguns from everywhere and definitely no Caniks or Kalashnikovs that weren't from the Easter block. All of those AKs ran without any problem. But when they started to make their own they had some issues just like everyone else who starts to manufacture Kalashnikovs. But if you want your AK to have a serial number with your b-day you have to build it or have it built. So those cheap Century AKs make a great base to build off and learn about the design. The barrels are excellent. In my opinion all you might need to do is replace the bolt carrier and make sure the fitting is right Believe me the "cool factor" when you build your own AK is way way cooler than any AR. And no it's not milled I got my reciever from Nodak Spud The best upgrades other than a good folding stock in my opinion are the gas tube rail, a good red dot sight on top of that and a forward vertical grip. You won't need anything else except good magazines
Absolutely, and the receiver is guaranteed for 150K rounds which means your grandkids will still be using it. Just be prepared for the sticker shock, but if you want a military grade AK, there is no substitute. Go SAM7R milled and SAM7SF milled.
I know exactly what you’re talking about with the Arsenal’s sterile feeling. I threw wood furniture on my SAM7R to try to compensate. Look forward to seeing how your thoughts after you put rounds through it.
Kind of curious what the difference in weight between the 2 are since one of them is milled and one stamped. Lemme know if you get a chance to weigh them!

I can't decide between a Rifle Dynamics AKM or a FALKOR DEFENSE Alpha. Im leaning towards the Alpha 308 with a thermal scope.
Watching this video I’m going to go out on a limb and say you prefer military surplus firearms for the history. That owning an older scarred up AK that’s actually been in a war (or at least some of the parts have) does something for you. The Arsenal is still a better rifle and there’s no getting away from that. Try shooting them side by side.
I bought my SAM7R last year and it has become one of my favorite rifles. I highly recommend the Manticore Arms Nightbrake Compensator. Add the Annihilator optics combo from AK Operators Union and you will have an AWESOME setup. Oh, I also replaced the shitty standard grip with an Arsenal SAW grip. Much more comfortable!
About the same as you. Got one last year, soo smooth. Ive got magpul pg, midwest mount and sig romeo, alg trigger, wolff recoil spring, 74 brake, makes my ar buddies hate hard. I dont even care about my own ars anymore! Just got a sfk now here it goes..
The brake that comes with it works pretty great in comparison to the slant brake. It tends to feel like it pushes straight back where as the slant feels like it whips to the side more. Just my opinion. Great video.
Another very informational video, I personally have no clue about AK's, but I feel like I know more know ha ha 😉 All this time I thought you were waiting for new carpet and the yellow was leftover adhesive from original carpet 😆😂🤣 Very industrial looking carpet and very different 👍
Are you even watching the same video? That's a polish parts kit built by century on a nodak NDS-1. Look closer it has dimples and is not a wasr. The older century parts kit guns like the polish Pmkms polish Milled and yugo m70ab2's were actually decent guns.
Have same rifle that came packaged exactly how your came! I dremeled the Magpul forearm to fit. Just wish they made a AR-15 buffer tube adapter to fit without having to cut off one of the tangs. But it my first AK and my only AK.
I don't have an AK and had never really been interested In them. But today You and Tactical Toolbox put out AK videos. Damn... Guess when I'm off the college budget I'm getting an AK! Lol
I LOVE my scar, ar’s, lever and bolt guns but damn if my Krebs doesn’t end up always being pulled back into my hands! haha. There’s just something in particular about the nostalgic badassery of an ak that sets it apart. Being a cold war era weapon that’s still as relevant and able today as it was then, says everything, really, regarding its pure effective reliability to get the job it was made to do done, and done well. It’s an icon in and of itself, beyond just the confines of the firearms world, and is a prominent feature on more than one nations flag for good reason. haha. Good shit, as always, Mr. Havok! You never cease to outdo yourself, time and time again.🤙🏽
You seem like a cool dude, whatever you do for "work" would probably have me seething with jealousy haha, just watched my first video on your channel, the 249 un-boxing and after scrolling through your videos for 2 seconds I've decided to subscribe. Thank you documenting and sharing your collection with us. And I hope 2019 is a good year for you brother. Keep up the good content
When are you getting the New GEISSELE Full Rifle? It looks cool . I would buy it if I could afford it as it being their first Full Rifle is bound to be an Investment and only go up in Value . Especially if one gets in a lower serial Number . I Know you use their triggers in most of you stuff.
Hey do you happen to know what year the arsenal you have was produced? It looks like a newer production. Very nice rifles by the way, both of them are sweet. Dont worry, everythings gonna be ak
Dude if you could, please do a review on the B&T APC 308. I bought one and it is a machining masterpiece (It's built like a freaking tank NO JOKE). Additionally, it shoots very, very soft and it's accurate as hell!
Back in 2002 purchased an Arsenal SAM7 for 525.00 dealer cost from FAC in Minneapolis. At that time they only made milled receivers. Since then it has had around 23 thousand rounds of Wolf ammo through it. It has only failed about 5 times. The failures were magazine related. To this day it still has had no parts changed out. The flash suppressor is fixed and can not be removed, because of the 1994 gun bill. It has been a great gun. Also have a waser 10 AK it has finger slap. The Arsonal sam7 does not have finger slap. Shoot 1500 rounds in one day and you will not like finger slap.🙂
I own a Sam7 and a 107 sr. If you want an ak, they are the ones to have. They come off the same line as the 100 series made for the. Bulgarian military. They do not come any better, unless you go full custom.
for what its worth, ive owned a number of century aks and although they've more or less gone bang when i pulled the tigger, theyve had some major quality control issues wasr 10/63 with canted front sight gp1975 with canted rear sight polish akms with canted barrel (yes, entire barrel was crooked to the receiver) ras47 with so much mag wobble the mag would become canted enough to actually stop the bolts forward travel. glad you have a good quality one, but id never touch a century product again
Conner I’m a little late on the reply but I’d say your main problem was buying a ras47. I wouldn’t waste my time pisssing down the barrel of one of those
I never use the included oiler bottle because they always leak. I only made that mistake once. That was enough. BTW my favorite AK is the 7.62x39mm AKMN.
If u run across a vepr fm47-11 😉 Russian beast battle ready , u will buy it , it's alittle heavy but I think it's original look and made in Russia gives it alot of character and way better then arsenal , don't have wood on mine yet but it will someday maybe , right now it's for comfort and home defense , buts it's on here in a qk video , love the videos 👍👍 😀
I got the arsenal pistol so I would not need to comply with 922r. It feels to me like a more realistic AK than anything modified here in the U.S. some of the Bulgarian tooling is still Russian, how do you get more authentic than that?
Tactical Mustache a fine choice, now take that fake booster off and thread the barrel. I decided to leave mine long to try and preserve some muzzle velocity, but that’s just preference.
Tactical Mustache it is fake. You will lose nothing by removing it. In fact you can increase your velocity if you remove it; because you can put a real booster on.
You said “AK?” That SAM7 you are holding is as close to an actual AK-47 there is. Larry Vickers himself said it so. That underfolder you were comparing it with is an AKM. It’s not a real AK-47, even if it “went places”.
I have a century arms polish tantal 74 and i fucking love it. I’ve never had any real malfunction with a few thousand rounds through it. Century products are hit or miss but worth the money.
Dude I got a Galil ACE pistol w/folding brace chambered in 7.62x39 Going to be my backpack battle rifle/Truck gun on layaway currently at my local gun shop
