Annnnd I wonder if Lenny visited the set while his mom was guest starring on A Different World leading to the fateful meeting that would eventually produce her granddaughter.
Yeah. I did it. I was at a wedding reception, hungover as hell and had my shades on in the banquet hall. My ma said, "Take your glasses off that's rude!" okay....
He said she's his best friend. What a compliment. She so ver classy and gracious. Its helps that Arsenio was very good at his job. People felt respected and comfortable. 🌹 🌹
I wish Arsenio was still doing his show. One of the best talk show hosts ever! Funny, down to earth and a complete natural. Very classy and gracious to his guests. Come back Arsenio, we miss you!!
I've never seen Lenny with his Mom and you can tell he's a mama's boy which is beautiful. The way she embarrasses him is wonderful. Lenny is my guy and I loved Roxie on the Jeffersons. And the Mama Said album is still great!
I can’t imagine losing such a wonderful mother. He must have died 2,000 times. I’m gonna call my mom right now. He’s right, they’re the only ones who truly love us.
Miss Roxie 😢 very beautiful woman inside and outside and I don't even know or just from the TV screen and I shared this beautiful video that Lenny Kravitz song and wrote for his mom or at least about his mom I showed my son how deep of a loving that connection son to mother mother to son 🌹🙏
Their mother-son relationship was so beautiful. But you can tell that she was a MAMA in every sense of the word. Gentle, kind, humble, but stern. I know Lenny misses her terribly. At least he knows how proud she was of him while she was alive. Also, it was very nice of Arsenio to have her share Lenny's interview and highlight the work she had coming up knowing she was fighting cancer at the time.
He was influenced by him. Before he decided to go by his stage name, he called himself "Romeo Blue." As Prince had the purple and Jesse Johnson had the pink.
Absolutely. Prince was a massive inspiration for a lot of musicians in that era who were mixing rock and soul. In fact they actually became very good friends and performed together, check out the Rave Into The Year 2000 concert where they play together.
Now Lenny's daughter and Roxie's granddaughter Zoe Kravitz is killing it in her career as an actress. Three generations going strong for the Kravitz family!
@@1talldaddy Yeah, but I think he was speaking specifically from Lenny's side of the family. The legacy started with Lenny's side because of his mother. Also, Al Roker is their cousin.
How interesting that his mother Roxie mentioned "Catwoman." Decades later, her granddaughter Zoe Kravitz is now playing the role of Catwoman in The Batman film! That reference gave me chills. 🖤🖤🖤
You no I miss Arsenio Hall to me he waz the best nighttime show on TV 😢who's here because of Lenny appearance on Sherri 🙋🏾♀️🙋🏼♀️🙋🏽♀️I came back to say Lenny always have on shades😎wow his mom has him to take dem offf he iz so handsome
This episode came out in 1991, four years before Roxie Roxer passed away. It was also the same year Lenny Kravitz produced his album, Mama Said, which included his biggest hit, It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over.
This is the sweetest thing. The love between his mom and him is so lovely. Loved when she made him take of his sunglasses lol He totally was like, "Geez mom" Really nice
A mom will gush and be proud of her son and let the world no matter how old he is, whether he is 5 or 25 years old. Roxie is beaming with such love and devotion at this moment. R.I.P.
Stunning woman just gorgeous. And she had that beautiful Caribbean accent too. So charismatic definitely can see where he got his charm and poise from. May she rest in eternal peace I know he misses her
Picky and oversensitive people. Some people downvote anything that isn't in HD, or just because they don't like Arsenio Hall, or maybe because they didn't like a Lenny Kravitz concert, or whatever.
The fantastic Roxie Roker..who would of thought he would lose his mother to cancer..ur Mom is your everything to u noticed how she totally supported Lenny.. I lost my Mom to cancer man you miss them soo bad I’m sure he does my Mom she was my heart ❤️ fr RIP Ms Roker a class act keep doin u Lenny u da man 💪🏾😎💯
That is so sweet I wished she hadn't died such a lovely woman! I watched the Jefferson's growing up! I loved it when she tells him to take off his sunglasses and he obey's a mama's boy love it!
You know she held on till after Zoe's birthday she didn't want to die on the day her granddaughter had her birthday because she didn't want her granddaughter to associate her birthday with her own passing that's a true lady! Women we need to get back to being women of character and morality and behaving ladylike she's a inspiration for us all.
Lenny’s relationship with his mom is legendary. I salute you, Roxy for raising your child so that he wants to be close to you. RIP. I salute you, LK for knowing that family is everything in life. Rock on!
I remember watching this in college, I thought it was so cute. It's sad to watch him now missing her so much .... only his mama could make him take his shades off :)
I watch this video and it makes me want to cry. What a loving and adoring mother. She just loves her son to death and feels so much joy and pride when she speak of him. A mother's love is priceless. I love how they both love, admire and respect one another. what a blessing and a beautiful mother and son relationship.
Ms Roxy was so funny on the “Jeffersons”!! Ms Roxy and Mr Sherman Hemsley was hilarious in the scenes arguing !!😂😂 Ms Roxy a beautiful woman & actress of class!!❤ Lenny Kravitz is a proud son of his whole family!!
Lenny Kravitz daughter look so much like especially when he took off his glasses in this video. Oh an also his mom was so lovely i would always watch her on the jefferson with my mom.
I remember this and remember how much of a momma’s boy he was, the love for his mom. So sad when Roxie passed away. I could only imagine his pain of losing his beloved mom. I had my mom and grateful my mom was alive and healthy. I was a mommas boy to some extent. Super close. In November 2021 after I lost her to a short cancer battle my whole life changed forever. It felt like my lifeline that her was cut. 2 years later and my siblings and I mourn her. Miss her and think of her everyday. Miss her caring, love and concern for us. Her phone calls, visits on Sundays for her dinners, her visits to my place, Outings/trips together. The loving memories keep her alive. Like Lenny, we had amazing moms. If you people have your moms, please call them often, visit them as much as you can because time flies really fast. Thank god I had my mom for 56 years. 🙏 Miss you mom.
I just love this interview. What a beautiful mother-son connection they have. 😍😍 I know that he was absolutely devastated when she passed. RIP Ms. Roxie Roker!
The definition of Class, Respect, Beauty, A Lady!. See what happens when MOM is all of that? You have children that follow the same class, respect and beauty. R.I.P. Mrs. Roker. Always a queen.
First of all Ms. Roxie Roker was a class act, second of all she was honored not only by her son but Arsenio showed her such respect as he honored her too, this is how you treat women and your elders ✊🏾👏🏾🙌🏾
Loved watching this...brought a tear to my eyes. Those two were so incredibly close and he is still in touch with his Caribbean roots. You can see how she impacted his life in such a positive way in his relationship with his daughter and ex wife.
She addresses him in her Caribbean accent so he knows she isn’t kidding! “Yackon take dem glasses off now, mon!” Keepin it real, Roxie! “Don make ma rip em bloodclot’ shades off yer face mon! Show Rahspect!”
Love them both, & Arsenio as well. She was a beautiful woman, inside & out. He inherited much of his handsomeness from her. Since it is Father's Day 2022, can't leave Dad out for his contribution
Lenny. Love this interview. Your momma was so beautiful, funny, elegant. It is evident how much you love her. Best friends, yes i was also with my momma. Mine passed in 1987 at the age of 47 from a malignant brain tumor. I was only 24 and a part of my heart died that day. But love, mrmories of her have filled in, healed that immense hole in my heart. And she is with me in spirit, in my heart every day. ❤
Love Roxie Roker. She was tall and thin (like me) and wore such classy clothes on The Jeffersons. To this very day, I strive to immulate her style of dress. Love it!!!!!
Love and miss her on television her Cameos where CLASSIC. She was the first "sister, girl" down to earth black woman actress on television. Although she did the sister girl tell 'em off black woman acting She was also very well spoken and had an unspoken pride that related through the TV. (GRH💐💛✨️) She is loved and missed. I LOVE LENNY KRAVITZ ,ROMEO BLUE 💛✨️
