I think Everyday Scenes from a Parallel World might be one of my favorite art books. Absolutely love environmental illustrations, but yet again, an amazing vid.
Ikr? It's such a beautiful book. I'm waiting to receive the Retrospective Scenes from a Sentimental World Artbook bc I may like that one even more haha. It's got those slice of life vibes that I absolutely love XD and I think there's a Fantasy World one too. Appreciate your comments every time! Tsym! 😊
definitely getting the "g gundam technical manual" with my gunpla figurine glad that i randomly decided to watch your old vids i've never peeked at hehe
hahaha i'm glad you saw it then and now know it exists! i should do an updated art book collection. but anyways, ohhh are you a gunpla collector? i haven't gotten any in YEARS but still have some that i haven't built yet oops LOL.
@@cadence_la yes please, always happy to see a new video from you 🤍 also not that much of a collector ig? im just starting out since i got inspired from pewdiepie’s streams long ago when he built ikea gundam and etc, but only getting time and funds to invest in one chonky boy now! it just always fun for me to assemble/create something, since im not really an artistic person, but i love to “make” things and it would be really nice to have some mecha representation on my shelves
@@lars8596ohhh that'll be exciting once you're able to get a larger and more involved kit! it always amazed me to see people get the ones where you have to paint them as opposed to using the stickers. i only have the ones with stickers. do you have a favorite gundam series?
@@cadence_la id put mercury witch as my favorite since i introduced myself to gundam with that, BUT i also love the og “mobile suit gundam” no : no nothing ahah what about you?
@@lars8596that's one i still need to watch but a handful of my friends really love it 👀 the only one i watched and liked were from a long time ago like g gundam and gundam seed 😊
(Jay RoC) art books are what I use to read along with magazines like people or sports illustrated before I started collecting manga & comics .. I love art books that are like documentaries about the tought process behind projects to go along with art of course one of my favorite was the He-Man art book it really goes In depth they have a show on Netflix called the toys that made us & the He-Man episode is basically the art book come to life
Exactly. Getting to know the artist is really nice because we get to understand the art even better too :) Oh that's really interesting! It's so awesome to learn what inspired character designs, the world building and lore
i have been looking at art books for a while now 😅 i might be interested in getting one bc there is so much inspiration and the sketches r so pretty to look at 🤩 aaaaaah~
@@cadence_la i don’t really have a specific fav artist but I did look at daisukerichard’s art and books bc I really liked the style and it is really pretty! their art is amazing 😆
ooo i haven't seen that one yet! there's actually a few Ghibli films i haven't seen. but my top favs are Howl's Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke, and Porco Rosso :)
@@icemaster54isaac86 ahh ok i see. it's kinda nice imo to watch a piece of media where you can relate in certain ways. brings you that much closer to the movie :)
@@cadence_la i'm a beginner and i bought loish's(it is also my first art book). loish's art is not technically my style but i'm learning a lot of information even i'm still at page 30 so i don't regret buying this book. i'm also interested on the last 6 books that you covered in this video especially on ilya and daisuke's book(because i want my style to be like that but i don't think i will learn a lot from those books because it is just collections considering i'm just beginning). it's also funny how the books that are on my wishlist are all in this video🤣🤣
@@gelosantos4007 aww that's really great! the learning process is a long one and something i definitely should focus more on when it comes to fundamentals and basics...like anatomy 😓 but sometimes i just want to try drawings something pretty rather than studying haha. i think you can still do studies of specific artists' styles by seeing what it is you like about their art :) whether it's the painterly rendering style, line quality, etc. but that's cool you're on the look out for these books ;)
@@gelosantos4007 hmm i'll be honest, i don't have a lot of beginner art books. i really should though bc i'm still such a beginner as an artist 🥲 the Sketch with Asia book is a really great one and I do suggest maybe prioritizing it if you can. there are a set of books that i've been meaning to get but don't have yet! they're the Morpho: Simplified Forms books. there's so many to choose from and all seem really handy :)
nice books, the one by Asia Ladowska and Everyday Scenes From a Parallel World look very interesting. Have you checked the books by Makoto Shinkai or Mateusz Urbanowicz? They're also very recommendable, and also the art books for the games Nioh and Onmyoji if you like Yokai thematic
I only collect art books that I know I love so def recommend Asia's book and Everyday Scenes 😄 I've watched a couple of Makoto Shinkai's movies but haven't looked into the artbooks. Not yet at least, now that you mention it hehe. But yes I looove Mateusz Urbanowicz's work and would totally add their Storefronts artbook to my collection. Thanks for reminding me! 🤩
@@cadence_la I ordered the Everyday Scenes From a Parallel Book already, couldn't resist, I wil probably order Asia's next month :) The ones I really like by Makoto Shinkai are the environment ones, I ordered them directly from Japan but I think they're available overseas too
@@AutumnRed ohh awesome! i really hope you enjoy them! 😍Everyday Scenes is a beautiful book and Asia's is very helpful. btw, not sure if you knew, but the Everyday Scenes is a series of 3 books. in my latest haul vid, i show the 2nd book. i think of the 3, Everyday Scenes and Retrospective Scenes are my favorite. aaa ok i see! thanks for the insight on the Shinkai book! i'll def be looking into it :D
