You got some amazing Christmas presents. Any watercolor artist that received those gifts would be in painters heaven! The Raphael travel brushes are super nice, a very luxury gift. Those fintec metallics looked unreal on that pith sketchbook, as if they were not painted on at all, but like they were solid metallic metals once they dried. I never would have chosen the Autumn palette in the fintec metallics, but I loved every color after seeing them swatched out.
It's a shame about the Blackwing pencil sharpener. I have never seen one before but I do love the pencils. Yummy paints! I think I need to stop watching haul vids because I am on a no-buy this year and love everything about the supplies you've shown us. It makes the want-monster strong! lol... I do have those DS paints tho and love them. Holbein is my fave brand but I don't have any from the pastel set. I bought a bunch of Turner Acryl Gouache paint on sale a few months and have been using them lately. They are pretty good, but I still love Holbein more. I look forward to seeing what you do with the Gansai Tambi set. Beautiful colors!
The powdered pigment you’re using is the same as brusho you’re meant to sprinkle a tiny bit of pigment on the paper and then spray water to activate it there. It’s not used as a watercolour pigment that you mix in a pallet and then paint on. That’s why there is so much separation in colour
