Nick and I found a couple of Kaweco fountain pens in those lovely tins at TKMaxx, and now I want to find mine and turn it into a watercolour tin! Delightful art supplies; that printed Kuretake palette is so awesome.....Want Monster has emerged for that! 😂 I haven't eaten Nerds in years, haha. If anyone buys those sargento balanced breaks cheese/ fruit snacks- they are shaped like peace signs. I use them for painting all the time- esp gouache and acrylic that I don't want touching my good palettes.

The only MaimeriBlu paint I have is the Payne's Grey, which I got because it's single pigment and granulating and I was really into Payne's Grey at the time! I see your set has it too! The Jacksons watercolors are made by Sennelier :) The indigo looks like phthalo turquoise!

Quick note. You can use a glue gun to make dividers in the candy round. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Love the horses.

Thanks Miranda, I just ordered those four VG dusk colors; gorgeous! I ordered Beam earlier this year when I was trying out different hand made paint vs. more popular brands,sadly not a fan either. Now they are just sitting going unused. Maybe I will find someone to eventually pass them onto; I have a nephew who is just starting his WC journey.

Lovely gifts/sets Miranda. I love MaimeriBlue, I actually got 2 sets of them from MC Art Supplies this past summer plus a half pan from Jacksons. I love the vibrant and strong effect of these watercolors they are as strong as DS but the tubes are much larger which I love!

The Beam tin idea is really cute, the pen you can get a converter for waterproof ink, but I think the Van Gogh are the star paints in this round. Lovely haul.

So excited to see you try beam paints! I have some beam paint dot cards but I haven’t tried them yet. I decided to make them a stocking gift to myself so I’m making myself wait until Christmas 😊. Since I live in Ontario I am so pleased to have a good paint that is made here.

Hi, Miranda! What a lovely set of Happy Mail! Choosing a favourite? 🤔Difficult! I loved the Jackson's Magenta when you painted it, but when dry ( 39:06 ) it looks rather dull, but like you, love the Naples Yellow. When you did the Phthalo Blue, I immediately thought, "No, that's a Cobalt blue" and a second later, you said the same thing! 😄 I thought the Beam's paints were very disappointing, except for the PG17 I'm going to have to be really strict about my replacement-only no-buy in 2024, as over the course of this year, I've needed to replace a lot of my watercolour pencils, and some of my paints and Faber Castell fineliners. Did you see Vee's video on her 2024 no-buy? It's very good, and I've downloaded her PDF's! Oops! I should be in bed! But first, just to say, have🎂🎄

🤷🏻‍♂️ Usually Bean paints are VERY high tinting. They really surprised me this time! Their low tint was not normal. - Have you contacted their company? (Maybe something went wrong with this specific batch.)

@@craigcastagnoli2447 depending on your budget, the Rosa Gallery are great because you can get a large set for not a lot of money. They are sticky paints, though, so you need to live in a drier climate if you purchase these. Daniel Smith has some lovely starter sets and their paints tend to try quite hard, so that would be good if you live in a humid climate. I personally love QoR and Roman Szmal as well. Schminke are not my favorite. Michael Harding are strongly pigmented, so they would last you a long time most likely. I haven't fully tested mine enough to know more than that. There are so many great options out there. Maybe give me an idea of what features you're looking for specifically in a brand? You're going to have so much fun!
