As part of Pérez Art Museum Miami's (PAMM) Art + Soul event, celebrating the PAMM Fund for Black Art, event honoree Jesse Williams sat down with PAMM Director Franklin Sirmans at Dante's HiFi to discuss life, work, art, and more.
The PAMM Fund for Black Art was initiated with a $1 million grant, funded equally by Jorge M. Pérez and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, for the purchase of contemporary art by Black artists for the museum’s permanent collection. Every year at Art + Soul, PAMM chooses a key figure to honor. This year, honored actor and activist Jesse Williams, who ranks among the most notable young collectors of art from the African diaspora, with a collection including work by Charles White, Benny Andrews, Kerry James Marshall, Noah Davis, Ferrari Sheppard, Jerrell Gibbs, Janiva Ellis, and more.

I love the way Jesse speaks so profoundly. He is an open book when it comes to his love for art and his parents being influences in his life. I adore learning more about him with this interview.
