I’m getting my first ever commission done from a teacher of mine, we talked about the price and it can range from $50-100 or more, thank you for all the help you provide for us 💖
You are a lifesaver! Bless your soul. I’m in that intermediate level, except, I rarely accept commissions. This has a lot to do with the fact that custom work of the type of art that I make, which is mostly comprised of sculptures and dolls, would be very expensive and I have a very pathetic social media following. You explained how that ends up very well. But mostly, I love the freedom of making what I want, and I desire to sell completed products. This video is oh so helpful, and I appreciate you and what you do so much. Is there a way I could personally contact you and show you what I do? I would very much love to have a conversation with you if you would have me! Again, much love for what you do. 🥰
Awesome vid! I've been stuck in a self doubt loop because I haven't gotten commission this gave me some hope and motivation. I do have a question though: (If you haven't already) could you make a vid on how to work on getting followers?
Unfortunately the way to get followers is by being good, relatable, and interesting, which is a result of practice, self-confidence, and time. Also, followers are an empty reward; it's better to have 300 active followers than 3,000 that barely pay attention (I'd know because I have 460k on TikTok and only 2% or less interaction on an average video). If you want followers on TikTok, study what makes the popular videos go viral and replicate that (same thing with Instagram). But then you have to ask yourself if you're being genuine to your brand, or if you're doing it to get attention. It's a slippery slope. If you're trying to get followers for commissions, begin interacting with art groups and offering help and joining trends and competitions. Again, there's no cut-and-dry answer; if there were, everybody would have a lot of followers.
