@@_amina_mahomed__ well in austria there are a few jobs you can do after that or you can go to a university. I dunno how it iz in usa tho. I still dunno what to do after that tho:))
tip: you don't have to learn realism and make it all you draw if you want your art style to be more stylised. you just need to know the basics of anatomy, clothes/folds/wrinkles and shadows in my opinion. if you go full realism, and dont use what you learn in your art style as you go, you might forget how to stylise things and have to go back to the beginning. just a lil tip :3
@@TumblinWeeds well art is more about personal progress, there aren't levels of art. for example, if someone draws anime but can't draw realistically that doesnt mean that they're bad at art. what really matters is if you're happy with your art
Yes, I tottaly agree with this tip. For example, I have been drawing realism for like..uhhh..Since I started? But just yesterday, I noticed that elf ears look better than real life ears in my opinion, so I added them to my art style. Yes, I was drawing 2 elfs yesterday and my grandma and sister said that they looked like aliens, but I didn't mind since I WANTED abit of fantasy in my otherwise realistic style.

Alright, thank you! I always compared my art with other artists I really love, and it demotivates me. Right now, I've been drawing without or trying to compare my art with someone ^^"
3 Tips For Digital Artists: 1. When doing digital art have a sketch layer, line art layer, and color layers. When you are don’t with the coloring you can’t take off the sketch layer, leaving the line art and the color layer. 2. Take you time, don’t start with selling art and making art for people, because it can become stressful, especially when your a new artist and still experimenting with art styles, backgrounds, colors, shadows, etc. A lot of digital artists print out merchandise, which would be better off doing when you have your own technique and style you do constantly. 3. Experiment with different eyes, noses, lips, mouth, etc. If your doing anime make up different eyes and noses and sometimes you find the one that looks good and your what to use. That’s how I learned how to do my own eye style.
@@chemicalbeaver3162 that’s strange? That software must not be good. I would recommend ibis paint. It has layers. Actually there’s plenty free art apps that have layers tbh.
Fun fact: Doodling is good to do when your not paying attention in class. You might think all your attention is on your doodles but no! Your still paying attention in class just dont make the doodles to detailed. Like just doodle. You dont even need to do look at the page!! Also while you doodle you develop your art style more :)
I remember when I drew something at like 6-8 years old and my auntie taped it onto the wall but a few weeks later my fam had a party and my uncle got so drunk he puked on it👍😃
another tip: Don't be sad or give up if you had higher expectations, but you just couldn't draw it. you will see EVERY artist trying to recreate their drawings after years of practicing and then it turns out like a masterpiece. it's just PRACTICE so don't give up. YOU GOT THIS!
Thank you for this! I kept giving up and losing hope in my art but im starting to try and work hard for it because I've realized that it would be a hard and long journey
"Never force yourself to draw" - this was my advice for myself almost 7 years ago and now i cant even draw a good apple :( don't let art block ruin your talent for a long time, rest now but try again next week
thank you :]] i’ve had similar happen to me a few months ago but i’ve started to draw again after i took a 2 months break and it’s helped me a lot as i think my critical eye has become a bit more better since then lolol

Here is something my brother taught me when I was practicing drawing faces, eyes, noses, mouth, and bodies. “Don’t draw what it should look like, draw what it does look like.” This might not make sense at first but if u think about it a little, it will! :) Hope this helps you guys!
Another tip I've learn from tik tok: Doodle. Doodling before drawing helps to ease up so you won't get ugly streaks, or etc. It's kinda like a warm up an i really recommend! ^^ To all the beginner artists out there reading this, don't give up! You might think like: "wow your art is amazing! But mine is disgusting trash. :( MAN I SUCK!" You have to learn to appreciate your art! Whether you like it or not, it's yours! I'm trying to be proud of my art as well! Don't push yourself too hard. Give yourself some breaks, etc. Though art block is frustrating, it can also be really good for you! ^^Yall probably be like: " it's art block, how is it any good to us?" well during art block, you will start to think new ideas, which will be great to solve art block! I've struggled with the worst art block for around a month or so and stopped drawing for a while. I even needed to start from a blank canvas becouse I've lost all my art on ibis paint (TwT). But I eventually found motivation and started drawing again! So be proud of your work. Have breaks. Relax. And you'll be a great artist! ^^ Sorry for bad arrangements and floppy tips. I'm bad at speeches. TwT Good luck! -mochii 💕:)
hey don't compare your art to other peoples art! everyone has their own styles and ways of drawing. if you're still not happy with your art you can look at older drawings to see what you dont like about it and should change. using references really helped me. i used to hate my art but recently i've been watching videos and studying different art styles and i'm finally happy with my art. just be positive and don't give up! :)
Nah my family says "not everybody has drawing talent" to me 😭✋(and it's whenever I show them my art so I just have a bunch of deleted drawings and ones that went away in the trash)
There’s always artists or art better than yours and everyones, so don’t care too much about it and draw. Try and compare yourself to others to improve and be inspired. Everybody always feel that their art is not good enough or the best but they still draw because it’s fun. This may be cliche but it is what it is. :p
what i would keep telling myself now and then: *"Stop drawing such wide shoulders for smaller people"* Edit: ok my anatomy has the opposite problem now. The shoulders are small as hecc I can't draw slender bois-
Tip: when doing your artists moodboard - pick your favourite peace of each artists collection and then pick out 2 main things from each one ; 1. A similarity between all of the artists (there’s probably a reason and trend for why they are all you favourite) and 2. Something unique (what does that artist do that none of the others do and is it something you want to incorporate in your art or not?)
Tips: -Pinterest is your best friend -Take advice, but don't change your art to something you don't like. Your art is for YOU -Join a beginner artist Amino! It's a great community for starting out where you can meet other people like yourself, get tips, and make friends! -Compliments go a long way :) On my Amino, I haven't posted any art, but I leave compliments and tips and advice for people. One amazing artist even told me they were thinking about quitting, but my comments convinced them otherwise. that really made me smile! -Don't compare your art to others -There is no such thing as 'stealing an art style'
The last part kinda hits home, as an aspiring artist I have always wanted to be semi-realistic, but so many cool styles that are less realistic are also really cool. I always thought I would just steal someone's style and not be original. Thanks!
The first one is so true, Pinterest is my always go to place for when I hit an art block or I'm looking for simple tips on anatomy. BTW, (tell me if I'm wrong) it's OK to copy art for practice, BUT please do not post that art online and claim it as ur own, this can cause drama and take away from the original artist. So, please do not post art online that u copied, but u can always use it for practice, just don't plagiarize because that's illegal :)
I am a 12 year old kid, and I really want to be an animator like the ones who create anime series. And this is helping me to improve my drawings Thanks ❤️❤️😔
Judging by the comments there are many young / begginer artists here, so I wanted to say something: don't give up. I know it's hard, sometimes you just can't draw that image you see so clearly in your head, sometimes you spend hours on something and you don't like the final result, sometimes you mess up, but THAT IS OKAY! To improve you have to allow yourself to fail first so you can learn from your mistakes. Don't be too hard on yourself, of course you won't draw like a professional artist if you're just starting, or even if you've been doing it for years, everyone has a different level of skill and progress anyways. Just keep practicing, know your weaknesses but also allow yourself to be proud of what you're good at
I've been an artist for almost 3 years and yet I don't feel enough motivated everyday for the attitude of the people around me. thank you for this comment. It helped a lot.
I used to draw pictures without bodies, but I went on RU-vid and just watched other artists draw, then finally learned how to draw bodies, I'm still working on hands and feet, but no one should be put under pressure for that. So my tip: Don't pressure yourself.
Or another tip for anatomy, you can draw figures with no features at all! I have a whole sketchbook dedicated to how I draw things, eyes, mouths, hands, head shapes, bodies, hair, etc. what I did for my bodies was I left the guidelines or made them really dark so that I could copy off them if I ever forgot a step or how to do something😁
i think that you should draw realism because it really does change your art so much. You can practice realism alongside your own style and you’ll see how much that changes it. You don’t have to do it if you don’t want to though, it’s your choice. :)
Intro 0:00 She sees younger artists and she sees her younger artist self in them. Below are key things she wants to tell you. 1. Where to start 0:39 Create an art inspo board. Have a list of artists you really admire and it can be anyone or anything. Pintrest, Twitter, and Instagram is a good resource. Be in the right community. Having fellow artists friends will make you feel safe. Always be open to criticism and make a mental note and fix it in your next drawing. 2. Anatomy 2:19 There is an average height dimension. Average adult, height is around 7 heads. Realism 3:46 Start doing realistic right now. This will tremendously improve your art. Everything is based on the real world. One piece of advice to past 11 year old self is to draw a lot of realistic art. Do a lot of studies, like drawing stuff in front of you. Flip the canvas horizontally to see what looks off. Hair + Clothes 5:27 For hair, think of it as sections or blocks. Think about how fabric goes around the body. If you do more studies, you'll be able to pick this up quicker. Shading 6:35 For shading, knowing where the light source is. She personally likes a lot more saturated colors. Don't have black lineart. If you color it, it'll make it pop out more. 7:15 Backgrounds Rule of thirds: you should put your subject in the middle of the lines. Know where the vanishing point is. Art Styles What you do is take artists you really admire and try to incorporate their art into your art style. Take their artstyle and incorporate it to your own version. You can take multiple artists and incorporate it into your art. Things to keep in mind You can get into the zone by listening to music. Art blocks are completely normal, take breaks. It'll take time and practice just like other things.
The “in the zone” one is so true, you shouldn’t force yourself to continue drawing if your not in the zone cause in the end you may not like the drawing.
It takes a whole year for a school to teach me one of the basics of art and you just taught me all of them in under 15 minutes.. Thank you, also. This helps SO much ^^
@AVA RYAN omg yes, 3 years of art class in middle school and I learned 3 things, pottery fuckin sucks, we arent supposed to use our fingers to shade and should use q-tips but I do it anyways and it looks better, annnnddd if you try something out of the box and add a cute background like bubbles or sum, your art teacher will hate you for it
My 14 yrs old self press this out of curiousity, now i want to continue my art bc atleast even if noone believes in me but atleast just this video inpires me somehow🙊🙈
As a fellow 14 yr old I'll support you along your journey. This video really did inspire me to continue practicing my art and hopefully I can make the webtoon toon I've be aspiring to create.
My friend once told me that copying drawings are illegal. After her telling me that drawing with reference is a sign of plagiarism, it scared me a lot that made me stop drawing with reference and started focusing on making my own art instead. But then as time went on, I ended up watching this video and started to realize that drawing with reference isn't bad at all! But instead, it helps you improve your anatomy that gave me back the courage to draw with reference again! Well, even until now I still draw with reference, but at the same time, I also tried making my own drawing in a way of applying my learnings while I was practicing. Thank you really! This gave me the courage to draw again! I really appreciate it
@@PutyourMilkBeforeYourCereal That isn't true it is very usefull! And please do what you love. If you like to trace the pictures or it helps you, then do so!!!😊
Tracing The picture is a bad habit, you won't learn much from that, but If you put thought into why The original art has lines where they are you'll really improve very fast. Also try to generalize stuff, like instead of worrying about how many strands of hair there are Look at how they're drawn. If you sketch The anatomy first you'll get better at that too.
My sister is a young drawer and wishes to draw like those anime people but very detailed. I send her this vid and she really got advanced! Tysm!! God bless u
your tips are so helpful i- *aggressively starts taking notes * i really love the new videos lately with your voice and your oc and its all just freaking adorable and wholesome dksjkfj
I watched this like 2 years ago! I really love to draw and Animate. When I first started to draw as a hobby I got ahead of myself, but, watching this made me realize that I had to take my time and find my own style in drawing. I'm still not great, but I have definitely improved since then! Thank You, for being one of my inspiration and motivation to continue to keep trying and learn! Love You! ❤
I love how supportive you are to artists. Especially beginner or young artists. Your channel helped me alot. I started watching u when I was 6. Even though I am only 8yrs old, I have alot of progress be aese of ur tips. Ur tips is an inspiration to me because they help me to move further and face my fear (of failing something that I tried the first time). These tips remind me to be proud of my art style and to not compare myself to other artists. Thanks so much for your tips. 💗💮🌸
7:35 on this section, I'd arguably say that your color palette depends on the mood you're going for. The left would be great for artificial lightings or even bright sunny days, or just a setting where there's a lot of light involved (although I'd still do colored lineart for that). The one on the left stands out a lot more against the monochrome background you're using as well. The one on the right would be great for a dim setting, like sunset or sunrise. However, it's starting to blend in with the background in this scenario which doesn't give it a lot of pop. It really does come down to lighting once again. Also I wouldn't discourage against the usage of black in shading as when used minimally, black can give a lot of drama to a drawing. Other than that, this was extremely helpful! Thank youuu
I agree with you! Color is really a unique and interesting take, and it all just depends whether it pleases your eyes or not. I mean sure, its really important to choose matching color schemes, but ppl uses bold and vibrant colors on purpose to pop the drawing, or use super toned down desaturated colors to show a calm, soft mood. So really, it can be anything ^u^
Something I learned from spirited away is, when it seems like you aren’t able to draw, take a while and remember why you want to draw, it helps me, and sometimes it improves my art a tiny bit!
You don't need to draw realisticly! You can just learn the rules of realism and then draw some. But you can still draw anime! As Picasso once said "You need to learn the rules to break them"
@@kirisakicatsune9983 I swear people these days it’s the promised neverland song but don’t specify which song makes me feel like they don’t actual watch anime

@@AlwaysTuesday she's not overrated...? Her popularity is average, from what I see. An example of overrated is Nagito. However, overrated doesn't equal to bad, so...
Things I recommend for an art block: Drawing what you feel, if you feel sad draw what that feels like, frustration- draw what that feels like, ect. Draw anything you see, if it looks cool, draw it, (this is only useful in some cases..) Draw yourself. Take a minute to draw yourself,, what you see yourself as, then what you really look like. Have an anime you really like? Draw your favorite character from that :) Draw what a song feels like, this is more useful when you are feeling creative but don’t know what to draw, however it is still fun!! And remember, it may take time, but you aren’t born with a gift, you have to put effort into getting good at something! Don’t give up! (Also, references, references, and references!!!!!)
Hey! As a pretty good artist, I’ve been through the hard times, so these tips are for beginners struggling. -Don’t use someone else’s art style, try find your own. I recommend watching videos for this. -Use simple shapes to create a sketch for illustrations. -Try to do the 7 days of drawing challenge. This means you draw the same picture for 7 days straight, this can help with your skills. -Take time on your art, don’t rush it so it can be finished. -Add visual interest to your drawings by using crosshatching, stippling, or dotting. -Try to practice realism with a reference -Always add as much details as you can to your art (smallest things make the biggest impact) -Use drawing prompt lists to help you expand your abilities. I hope this helped! 💖💖💖💖💖
my perfectionism absolutely killed my passion for art and i never kept drawing past 7th grade. i would doodle occasionally in high school, but no confidence or focus in improvement. but if i thought it didn’t look nice, i’d erase it completely then stop doodling for weeks. i’m 20 now, and i would really love to overcome my extreme perfectionism to do something i remember enjoying before middle school.
My mom was an artist and perfectionist with low confidence. It just made her try harder to be the best artist she could be. In truth, she was very talented and worked in almost every medium, from watercolor to sculpture. She even learned to weld in her 70s and created a number of amazing metal sculptures. However, she never felt her work was good enough to put out in public, and seldom did. After she died at 85, an art appraiser said her work was top quality. If she had made a name for herself, her collection would have been worth millions. As an unknown artist it was worth maybe $60,000. The family decided to keep most of it.
me too, when i was younger i also really liked to draw, but now i am only starting again and i definitely have perfectionism and it really is killing my passion for drawing right now
I'm subscribing. Not sure why but this made me cry and it made me feel so supported. I'm 12 and I've been doing art since I was 8, I could never get good support from people because someone was always better then me and this video is really relaxing and helpful. I've improved a lot in my art, and I'm finally aloud RU-vid ( I have very strict parents ) so I'm able to get inspo, tutorials, etc. I've never had big supporters other then my grandad but I didn't see him often, and my old assistant teacher who again I didn't see often. The struggle for me is my art style. I do digital art and normal art, I sketch, I paint I even use clay, but I always switch styles and I'm not sure that's a good thing. when doing the background it looks animated, but the actual person is realistic but then the face is cartoony, I love all the styles but I can't pick just one, but if I do them all together it looks tacky. This video will really help me and I'm glad I found it. I know this whole comment isn't necessary but I need to tell somebody whether or not anyone sees this :'D thanks you
This explains a lot of things really nicely and helps younger artists! *Here are some tips I have found and used over the years* -Don't compare yourself to other artists! Many people do so and they cannot develop a good art style so they struggle. -Try not to think negativity towards your art otherwise you won't stay motivated! -Be nice to yourself when drawing and stay positive! -Practice, practice, practice! Practice helps A LOT, I hate it when my peers ask "Were you just born good at art?" No one is born good at something, you have to work hard for it! -Try experimenting with different things and don't be afraid to leave your comfort zone! -Ask for feedback! It will help you know what you should improve on! -Don't be afraid to ask for help! Don't ask someone to do it for you, but ask them to show you how to do it or show you an example! *Hope these helped!
Defiently one of those points is possibly one of the most important, DO DIFFERENT STYLES AND MEDIUM. Doing so let’s you se etchings in different ways and also allow you to expand your skill. A technique from one style may be transferable to another and all.
Tysm this help so much! I will sure try to not give up on my drawings and take breaks. I mostly just give up on my drawings bc it looks bad. You help me a lot thank you for making this better!
"Being in the right community" *Me wheezing in the corner while being stuck in a family who thinks everything I do that is related to art in any way including music is a waste of time , supplies and effort. Can't forget being to stuck at home due to a global pandemic and then having 7 years until I'm a legalized adult*
@@cxffaye What do you think of doing commissions and other means to earn money through art? Point here is that you can prove to them that art as a career is enough to be of other jobs’ level, in terms of income, for you.
something that helps me when drawing is practicing on drawing body parts seperately. its really confusing in my opinion to just practice drawing everything at once you really can't focus on improving the entire thing. just something I advise for beginners is to take it slow and work your way up in a steady process. sorry if this isn't really a comment abt the video I just wanted to help too!
I often like to practice anatomy for anime characters and real people by tracing. I don't share that art because it's not mine but it really helps me improve
