This reminds me of how players used to solo Raids in Destiny 1, by using the Sunsinger's self raise to raise themselves at the perfect moment between mechanic failure and instance reset. It requires perfect timing and is very hard to fix if the system isn't built to just override and reset the instance on failed mechanics like Lost Ark does. As far as I can tell, FF14 always checks for whether someone's alive for reset and doesn't have hard mechanic fail conditions like that, so this is probably very hard for them to fix without completely reworking some core game systems.
honestly the game needs this painfully. the game needs more risk taking and experimenting in general. more vareity options in gameplay. And we need back job identity. every job feels the same.
Back when the raid was just released i kept getting braindead people who misinterpreted every single marker or didn't react properly. Heck, 3 times i tried to tell other to stop messing up and how to deal with the mechanics they were dying to or making me die to and 2 out of those someone called me out for apparently messing up, but in reality it was them who messed up in the first place, leaving them exposed to a sudden mechanic death. Love how arthars talks about savages, when i had such a hard time trying to get a decent group to do savages with, tons of people not being able to progress and the fc i was in had a very hard time trying to clear the ex fights in EW when they came out.
I mean is it really an oversight with the whole cover thing? They acknowledged the cover cheese for the TB in P4S, and took steps to ensure it wouldnt happen in the next tier, but then this comes out? Whats more likely is I believes they never expected ppl to bring both summoner and rdm and two PLDs to bring out a mass rezz party
I think they wouldnt think people being more creative than the devs or that people would tackle an ultimate like this. I solo healed from p5s through p8s phase 1 and there is just so much possible if you arent scared of dealing with rngesus or just doing things differently within the rules of the game. It makes me disagree with the statement that you only do this if you are bored with the game as for people like me, it is the prefered way to play the game.
Why wouldn't they expect people to bring that specific party comp? Groups have been cheesing ultimates since the very beginning by doing stuff like that. Paladin is literally the best tank for doing weird shit in ultimates, and having rez mages is pretty much a given at this point. Regardless, I don't think the Cover spam is necessarily an oversight, but this does go to show that Cover breaks the game in some strange ways when a bunch of people rub some brain cells together. I would love if this is the impetus for them to finally overhaul or remove Cover, though.
I actually think there should be MORE stuff like this. I never liked that the game had such limited ways to deal with mechs. I like how in WoW invulns and certain healing cds can make certain mechs non existant and that allows for bringing a more risky comp or play a totally different strat
i agree, to me at the very least it should be solo heal no healerless possible. that's clearly an oversight. because this fight was designed to be able to use all types of lbs lore wise. That's definitely a loophole and I wish i could have watched Yoshi P face when he watched this.
The thing here is the dancer is the one responsible for marking, so he has most likely memorized the entire fight and looking at either a simulation, a diagram or what i personally think, he's got a tracker add-on so he doesn't actually have to watch the main screen much or his position at all, since it's on his second monitor. Remember how a few 100 parsers admitted to cheating, i think this is the same, the person marking can't even see their own character and they don't need to because they're just looking at a second screen with a graph and tracker on display.
TEA used to have a bug to do it without codex. (Also found by Chinese players, they probably are the best tester out there). So just like arthars mention and I do think so as well when I first see it, this is clearly an oversight. SE will patch this soon. Also I think the developers probably forgot about cover skill altogether. 😂😂
idk who the guy who edited this, but that was a looot of talking and not much of actual reaction imo, leave the talking its good, just show right before it when arthas sees it first time so much jumping around
hello fellow savage ninja enjoyer. ninja idea for next expansion, or any expansion afterwards. please yoshi P. read my mind The next level cap ability for ninja is actually a trait. Transcendence { just a placeholder name inspired by some anime stuff like sage mode and ultra instinct} The execution of phantom kamaitachi grants you the lingering aura of your shadows Duration: 15 seconds Your stored jutsu's are now executed by hitting any weaponskill instead of the ninjutsu button. your weaponskills now have a 1.5s global cooldown. (not reduced by huton or skill speed) *tenchijin execution of jutsu's take priority over this buff I think this would fit very well into our current rotation, increase the skill cap on ninja just a miniscule amount for proper kaimatachi usage, and make our burst windows even more fun. the weaponskills being set to 1.5s GCD's would allow our OGCDS to be manageable while incorporating out basic combo into burst as a 1:1 substitution for hitting the current ninjutsu button. the cons being that this trait requires you to be in melee range to take advantage of it, so short downtime at the start of 2 minute burst windows would likely have you kaimatachi immediately into tenchijin and teleporting back to the boss
Problem with that is bad healers will then be absolutely incapable of doing content in this game. There was a massive healer shortage in Abyssos because the bleedwides and bleedbusters and other damage dealt was so rough that 75% gcd uptime healers could not keep up. The reason for this is because ffxiv is a dps meta, so healers who are worse at the game have to split their attention on multiple things at once. I genuinely think healers need to have WAY MORE healing gcd abilities, FAR LESS healing ogcds, and should spend more of their time using healing gcds. Maybe give them a healing rotation, where spending certain healing gcds gives them procs or stacks or gauge to spend on other bigger, more powerful healing or mitigation tools required to get through certain parts of the fight. I would much rather ffxiv be in a mechanics meta rather than a dps meta. Where, as long as your players can do hard mechanics with no deaths, you will clear. No relying on crit rng or high rolls to phase push, and no "chadding" your co-healer so you can get a higher funny number on fflogs.
@@VForceWave It's ok if not everyone can clear everything. People will get better. People will swap to healer. The game will not die. Catering to the lowest common denominator is not a good long-term strategy.
@@miatomi I agree with you, but healers are already unnecessary in casual content, and savage is something that a large percentage of players attempt. I think overhauling healing as a combat mechanic is healthier for the game than making high end healing harder as it currently exists
