Makes complete sense - John's sounds like a heartbeat that quickens as your dead eye lowers, like his heart is racing. Arthur is a clock that ticks at the same speed the whole way through, because a clock is controlled and exact.
It signals that arthur doesnt have much time left, and as a clock it doesnt stop and keeps going, which is why everything will be left behind by time, and i think for john it signals that he has a family and thinks with his heart, showing relations and morality in him, and taking revenge, instead of letting the past go, what arthur told him to do, but thats just what i think
@@ISkinFlamingos I'm pretty sure 90% of the Red Dead fanbase *would* know who Clint Eastwood is, since they either got the game because they're a fan of westerns, or after playing it, became a fan of westerns.
I think Arthur's sounds like a clock because he has always known he's not going to live a full life. That's what he focuses on, the moment. But John's is different. He focuses on his future. Because he believes he has one.
@@cb-9938 even in the background sounds When Arthur has high honor you hear something like a violin playing in the background But when Arthur has low honor you hear screams of people like if they're being totured
Maybe each deadeye is meant to represent how they die. Arthur’s is a ticking clock because his days are numbered as he dies from tuberculosis, a slower death. But John’s is a heartbeat, which might represent his sudden death, with adrenaline pumping through him as he knows he’s probably about to be shot.
in my opinion the clock represents that arthur doesnt take much time to get his shots lined up and yeah does make sense that he dies a slower death but i think that john's death is more of a dies painfully and still very much alive (heart still pumping) to go through the pain he just experience before really dying, thats imo anyway
I think their deadeye sounds is what they fear Arthur is afraid of death and wants to earn redemption saving the ones he cares about, but if low honor then the deadeye is tainted with his darkest thoughts. John fears the bottomless pit of the ocean because he can’t swim meaning that he fears death and is uncertain if he’s gonna die.
i think people are just going way to deep into it lmao, I am almost certain they chose random sound effects that sounded cool for a slow motion situation, if they really thought that deep into it, John's dead eye would have also sounded weird in rdr1, but its just silence.
John’s dead eye sounds like a heartbeat because he’s slowing down his breathing and heart rate. Where as Arthur his sounds like a clock because he is using his eyes to hyper fixate like he is racing time to land on his shots. That’s why they sound different.
ngl I miss Arthur’s dead eye sound because it always gave me anxiety since it was always low and I know the noise it makes when it starts to get low lol
I think Arthur's deadeye has more satisfying sound design, but it's equally as awesome that for John's they brought back the sound effects from the first game.
The marking sounds also differ. John’s seems to indicate it’s a quick decision, with a less finalized sound to account for it. Meanwhile, Arthur’s has a more conclusive sound, implying that Arthur’s dead eye is more finalized than John’s.
While John is one of the best sharpshooters, I think Arthur surpasses him, at least in Red Dead 2. Notably, John had trouble with Micah in American Venom, who's a sharpshooter himself, but someone pointed out Arthur had his gun at the ready while Micah was still drawing his. In Red Dead 1, though, John might've rivaled Arthur.
@@VGamingJunkieVTMicah is a an extremely quick shooter but has terrible eye sight which is why he dual wields double action revolvers in order to compensate for his poor eye sight
@@helljumper2565 To be fair, in the scene in Rhodes when a certain someone dies, Micah immediately kills 3 different shooters (One of whom is in a sniping position) without missing a single shot.
Arthur's dead eye sound is new and includes a ticking clock, signaling that his time is running out. John's dead eye sound is taken from RDR1 and includes a heart beat, signaling that he will live on in the forseeable future.
@@discoalice wow, because this idea and interpretation is so unique and clearly something only that specific person you mentioned could come up with can be put down as belonging to one person.
the shots sound different because they use different guns. for john's deadeye john's cattleman revolver is used and for arthur a schofield revolver is used which has a more powerful sound.
@rkronx9976 i can confirm this is absolutely wrong, ive used many weapons in the game and none of them make different noises when marking the enemies. Shotguns, revolvers, repeaters, name it. Never seperates the sound, it's just that they took the deadeye from the old game and brought it back.
John fights because he’s trying to secure a quiet life for him and his family, he’s trying to live. Arthur fights because he knows his time is soon to pass and he wants to make it to the end.
I think Arthur’s deadeye being a ticking clock is a representation of his life. How he was always living on borrowed time for the things he’s done and that eventually his time would run out.
Well, John only lives about four more years or so after the epilogue, so I wouldn’t call that “long” But it’s still far more time than what Arthur had, that’s for sure
@@DhzuryArthur knew his time was coming but John thought he would be forgiven of his crimes until the part in the barn, so he thought he was going to live a lot more
@@breadcatreal doubt that's true, John gave hints of his death before it even happened, I believe he knew he was going to die, he definitely did in his last 30 seconds of living especially when he was in the barn peeking through the door on top of that he knew he couldn't run forever the government would go after jack and abigail
John's dead eye with the lucid humming tone of compressed air mixed in with its epic heartbeat from the first game.. As with Arthur, it's that distinctive metallic ringing noise, vibrant and ephemeral throughout its form, with the badass clock ticking as an complimentary.
Haven't you ever think about this ability? I mean, we have seen like 3 deadeye users only. Noone talks about this in the game, you can actually slow down the time but noone realises that. I remember someone said about "Arthur good shooting skills" but what about John? What about Jack? Is this ability explained by the lore? Something like "I was drinkin' too much so now i can see this world in slowmo"?
I think it's simply just for the player's benefit. Arthur and John are very experience so would draw and shoot on reflex and would do it incredibly quickly. It only slows down for us so that players can actually aim at what they want
I feel like Dead Eye is achievable for any experienced gunslinger and is just simply for gameplay purposes. I wouldn't be surprised if Dutch, Micah, and Hosea had Dead Eye too.
The "slowing time down" is just a interpretation of how quick these guys are with a gun in real time. Of course they don't actually slow down time! Also, it's a gameplay mechanic. How else would the player be able to use these guys' talents? Look up Bob Munden. That guy was faster with a six shooter than a human eye can perceive. He holds 18 quickdraw world records. He could shoot several shots so close together that it sounded like one shot. Videos have to be slowed down for you to realize how many shots he actually shot. So that's your explanation for dead eye.
but maybe it could actually be a canonical power like gat Lamar points out how Franklin goes cross eyed and gets really good at driving when you use his power
If the honor is high the yellow bar will go from right to left, if the honor is low it will go from left to right Or the other way around i dont remember
I've read it on one of the comments in another video and I find it having so much sense. Considering Arthur's Deadeye sounds like a clock cause his was precise and concentrated. he's been a gunslinger longer and is more experienced. John's is a heartbeat, more adrenaline driven considering he's younger and impetuous
John's dead eye is a slow and heavy heartbeat sound, focusing on the moment, trying to do the necessary to survive. And Arthur's is the opposite of that. Fast and immediate. Calm. Resolute, intimidating when it needs to be. Focusing on what needs to be done. Just like a professional. And unfortunately, running low on time :)
@@VOXNISAQTUmm, cartoonish graphics aren't better then almost realistic graphics, so there's one point to RDR, and like 98% of players don't even know that Fortnite has a story so there is another point to RDR, also RDR has heart and emotion to it's story, seeing a dying man struggle with his past and search for a better path with the time he has left in life, that's another point to RDR, so that's 3 for RDR, and 0 to Fortnite
I think it represents when they use it about how they die like how Arthur use his you can hear a tick in the back but when you use John he have a hear beat like how John die by getting shot at and he can hear his heart beat stop or like Arthur he can hear the tick of death lol
Personally, i thought the sounds were because Arthur seems to be more of an experienced calculated gunslinger, while John being a bit of a beast has a more "shoot from the heart" type deal. So while Arthur knows he has a limited amount of time to aim for the parts he wants, John is based on his adrenaline and instinct.
i feel like the marking noises represent how they're thinking when picking the target. John isn't thinking of a target, they're thinking of the bullet, and how it'll land. Arthur is thinking of actually making a target on their body and aiming for it, (metaphorically) representing the place he'll shoot as a red dot in his head.
