This man sings about how good his colleagues are. No spotlight on his own greatness. All the while, he makes the hottest music you've ever heard. Think about how full of self-love and vanity show biz is. This man's modesty is epic.

I was thinking the same thing! And co- written by Otis the Magnificent, Redding, didn't know that. If anybody who loved the Motown Era, The Wall of Sound, Sweet! soul music ( step up Mr. Taj Mahal) can you tell me if A you listen to RAP and B Do Rappers, acknowledge their debt to say, Bo Diddley and Chuck Berry and the above people? I don't dig Rap as a genre, maybe my lack of investigating it, ironically I bought RUN DMC? Does that name sound right? Sitting in an L.P. bin, issued as a 33rpm, 45. I loved it? And I ADORE THE LAST POETS but they were beat poets, from duh, I can't even remember- got it, Jagger, the movie Performance - there was this incredible soundtrack- Ry Cooder ( my intro to him, a "cat" on a " jew's" harp- is there a more respectful way to spell that, juice harp- ever try one, I thought any idiot! Nearly had a mouth as large as Jagger's, I digress...the best reasons to watch that movie, THE MUSIC, and naked, Anita Pallenburg, sigh...The Last Poets performed to the must have, bongo drums, angry, and rightfully so, why I ADORE them but overall don't like rap? You can't dance to them either, hmm. Sorry for wasting your time, it's a query I need to consult, MOJO Magazine or Rolling Stone, I guess. I am really interested as a music lover- I love medieval music and listen to it every few months, I love ALL GENRES RU-vid is the greatest medium? invention? for music, talk, DIY, literature, nostalgia, humor etc. I subscribe to gazillion of channels, not a rap one, to me it is almost like the scary house on the block, you know, when your a kid and even on a dare you won't go in- lame yes, guess I should get out my Frank Zappa tee shirt and go forth...Namaste Z

As a woman in her mid 30s, I miss this era that I wasn't even alive at the time to experience. The nostalgia I feel is crazy. Spot light on the 60s & 70s. Spot light on Sam Cooke for birthing the original to this masterpiece 🤎💙
