The reasons for the riots had nothing to do with Arthur, but stemmed from years, maybe generations of pent up frustration and anger among the lower class. Everyone in the city had had enough. Arthur just threw the first stone. He set them free.

This is honestly one of the best scenes in the film. Just look at how calm and care-free Arthur's face is. All his burdens, all his fears and frustrations of the world are lifted. He's a new man quite literally.

At first glance- we may think Arthur is in police officer's custody now, but it is actually the officer who is in his. The world of mayhem around them impresses Arthur and he can finally see what his true potential is. Also I love it how the camera focusses a lot on Joaquin's face. It literally shows how satisfied he is- he is finally destroying the very society that once tore his life apart.

Arthur was a man who longed for love and acceptance his entire life. He struggled just to survive and no one ever gave him a second thought and as a result felt alone in this world. What he didn’t expect however, was just how many people like him there really were. And through his words and actions they all saw a piece of themselves and were inspired by him. To them Arthur wasn’t a deranged lunatic, he was a victim just like them, and their hero for letting himself be heard. Also it’s not an opinion someone in 2 different movies played by the same actor being killed “surprisingly” is not an Easter egg. Another thing to note is that The Joker released before IrishMan by like a month. Joker was first viewed according to wikipedia August 31st, 2019. IrishMan was first able to be viewed around September 27th, 2019. It takes a few years to make a movie depending of course on the movie and The Irishman apparently had some sort of Development hell. Regardless movies releasing less than a month from each other means neither took inspiration from the other and neither could include Easter egg scenes related to the other. So it is not my opinion that this wasn’t an Easter egg it is a fact.

The best endings to a DC movie. Best way for the Batman to be born and Joker to begin. I hope this movie’s sequel teases a trilogy. I wanna see other DC villians like Poison Ivy or Riddler. Joaquin Phoenix did a amazing job.
