Only nine comments. I am surprised. Arthur Mitchell was such a pioneer in the world Ballet. I was fortunate enough to see dance theater of Harlem in the 1980s. I am not sure of the backstory but the company eventually had to close and then was resurrected. During the same time. Alvin Ailey dance theater was also active. Both men were giants of dance. Ailey Company continued with a beautiful new dance studio on 59th but yet they’re touring has seem to slow down. I live on the West Coast but try to see them both here and in New York City. Once again Arthur Mitchell thank you for being such a brilliant dancer.
God bless George Balanchine. To take a chance on a Young Colored Man from Harlem in Ballet was quite a risk but it paid off in dividends. Also I saw Teen Vogue and I had no idea how fierce the competition is.
Proves that EVERYTHING WE TOUCH, we more than conquer! We devour it in every way imaginable! It’s called RESILIENCE!!! The troubles of the world have taught is this!!
