There is huge spike in tourists, local businesses are getting good amount of money bcz of this, most importantly stone peltings which were happening on almost daily basis has reduced. Obviously other problems like unemployment, poverty etc still exist but those are common problems with entire india.

And you know desperate people are easier to manipulate right? The reason for increased militancy in the UT. - Ladakh is also suffering despite it had even more faith in the govt's decision. That is just my opinion and a some added opinions of my Friends from Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. I had just scratched the surface, rest things a person from those 2 UTs can tell you better.
