I met Michael Lang at Bethel Woods a few days ago...08/15/09...He signed my poster and I took a picture with him...What an emotion!!He's exactly the same...So fascinating ;)
omg, this is so beautiful :') do you people realise that if an event that large happened nowadays the only thing the organizers would be thinking of is money? that's why I almost cried when the reporter said that they looked happy even though the festival was a financial disaster, then Michael said "you can't buy this for anything" and Artie said "it has nothing to do with the money".. those two really warm my heart
John Roberts who bankrolled Woodstock 69 was in an office off site thinking a lot about the millions he was losing. Luckily his family was very wealthy and in 1981 they broke even.

"You with your meditatin' & you always contemplatin' what to do in case blacklisting has found you can't you see it's all around you done by Artie" . 4 days ago I checked-in @ me MySpace page ONLY to post @ Kornfeld's MySpace. I wrote how I had purchased his "A Time To Remember" solely upon the strength of the jacket's artwork BUT truly dug the songs. Anywho, I checked back and my post is deleted & NOW ye must be one of Artie's MySpace Friends to post . Peace & Love & blacklisting .
The original budget for Woodstock was $250,000. It ended up costing 2.5 million, 600% over budget. The boys convinced Warner Brothers and an entire town to shut down for three days without permits to make this possible within five months of planning. You couldn't pull something like that today.
If you listen and read the stories by Michael Lang, Artie Kornfeld Joel Roseman and John Roberts. they tend to contradict one another. all the articles videos I have read and seen give credit here or there. Like the original poster for example, 'Artie was solely responsible for landing the movie deal and also signing the performers to appear in the movie" so Artie and no one else was responsible for signing the musical acts? Artie was responsibly solely for landing the movie deal? How did that work out? since they signed their rights away to Warners. Artie is quoted as saying(not here)that he and Michael lost a combined 100 mi because of them signing off. To this day those four and the people that were closest to them don't have the the same memories but still it is fascinating 50 years on and in another 50 years people will still be talking about Woodstock..
i replied to the same question posted on the link, my answer, although i am not certain, but it sounds like a sound check or some type of improvised jam
Michael Lang is absolutely gorgeous, and he's still pretty hot for a guy who's 65. And a lot of you are right, if things had stayed the way they were back then there would be no war, no hatred, etc. go figure
...yup...they don't make movies, like that, anymore... anyway, I'm in a darkened theatre & it's getting dark(outside)& "they'll" be, waking up, soon... 😎🔦🕕🔥🔫
