🎄⭐Merry nondenominational Christmas everyone! ⭐🎄I hope you all have a lovely time celebrating with friends and family. I’m glad that I was able to get out this episode for you all in time for Christmas, as I consider this my gift! I hope you enjoy and thank you for watching! There are also a few notes that I would like to add to this episode, specifically regarding some additional Main Dpses who could utilize this damage buff efficiently as well as timing. The 6 second window of the Song of Days Past artifact set can delay the window of when your damage can be buffed. This can be a blessing or a curse depending on what type of attacks your Main Dpses rely on. If the strongest hit is the last one in a sequence of attacks, that attack could receive or not receive the buff depending on when the damage buffing window starts. And if you have Main Dpses who have one hit nukes or their strongest hit comes first in a sequence of attacks, then that attack might not get buffed if you swap to them immediately after healing with your healer. This is because the 6 second window hasn’t passed yet and the damage buffing duration hasn’t begun. #1 Aloy Her burst is a one hit nuke with a decent damage multiplier and while she isn’t a unit that some people can every get or someone that is a preferred Cryo Main Dps, she can be utilized in a Freeze team. Usually you WOULD want to use her skill first to achieve her Rushing Ice state and get some extra Cryo damage Bonus, so I would recommend using your healer on Song of Days Past before her burst and after her skill. This is because Aloy’s skill has up to a max of 7 hits so they could potentially trigger the damage buff. Healers that would have synergy are Barbara and Charlotte. #2 Chongyun At C0-C5 his burst has a 3 hit strike with all the same damage multipliers. And at C6 he gets an extra hit that deals that same damage, making it 4. Throwing in his skill hit in the combo, makes for a total of 5 hits, perfect for the quota. Barbara and Charlotte are the healers that have good synergy with this. #3 Diluc His burst has its strongest hit at the beginning and the end of its attack. They have the same damage multiplier so as long as at least one of them gets buffed then that’s good. The only issue is that Bennett is the only healer that has good synergy with him, and he wants to be on Noblesse, so idk about any other healers with good synergy. #4 Navia Her skill has a massive damage multiplier that deals a lot of damage, not to mention having 2 charges. However, the only healer that works well with her is Bennett, who again wants to be on Noblesse. #5 Raiden Her burst’s initial attack has an extremely high multiplier that would greatly benefit from the damage bonus. In an Aggravate team, YaoYao and Baizhu could work for her. #6 Heizou His skill is the part of his kit that deals the most damage and increasing its damage as much as possible is the goal. Jean can be a healer that procs Song of Days Past for him, as well as being his Anemo battery. #Childe His burst has a massive hit with an additional one if his Riptide mark is applied. However there isn’t another healer other than Bennett that wants to be paired with him. #Yae Miko Yae Miko doesn’t burst often, but when she does, it hits quite hard. Depending on how many of her turrets you have out on burst cast, you can hit up to 4 times. YaoYao or Baizhu could help give the damage buff.

4:11 there is a secret to this set. It works BEST on continuous off-field healers you can use the 5 hit quota multiple times. Heal to 15,000 for 6 second. Fire all 5 hits, heal another 15,000

If the heal duration is at 12 seconds, the second record timer can record 3-4 more seconds for the next in rotation

tldr: the clam set is for long-lasting and continuous on field healers like kokomi while the song set is for off field aoe burst healing units. they serve different targets hence theyre not competitors. in detail, the clam set has a 3.5s cd after the previous bubble popped while the song set can trigger as soon as its previous buff expires. as a rs burst healers dont gain much from the clam set bc every time the set goes off cd, they cant offer anything (no healing no dmg) until the next rotation. on the other hand, the song set requires as much healing points as possible in a 6s window which is not easy for heal-over-time and ST healers. furthermore the song set buff is more valuable for characters built to deal dmg so theres no reason to use a continuous healer as a driver

Clam set is for on-field drivers who heal: taser Barbara, Hyperbloom Kokomi, Skill-based Qiqi. SoDP is for off-field healing: Dori/Kokomi/Kuki, burst Qiqi/Baizhu or Sayu in a Geobreaker or Mono-Anemo team

I think there’s a misinterpretation at 17:19 It doesn’t matter whether the DPS’s strongest hit is last or at the start. The dmg provided is not affected by the talent’s dmg scaling - it’s only affected by the character’s dmg bonus and crit stats. So imagine overload Chev-Raiden: whether those 5 instances is applied on Raiden’s Initial burst slash or the NAs/CAs during her burst sequence, the amount of dmg added will all be the same

Very nice and informative video, however im confused to why it is important that the last and strongest attacks of characters need to be buffed with the song of days past buff. Damage done by attacks shouldnt affect the extra damage recieved by the buff?

Not every characters last and strongest attack is the one getting the buff. It is only the characters who HAVE their strongest attack be the last one in a series of attacks, like Keqing’s burst or Ayaka’s burst. Characters like these two would have a hard time receiving the buff for their strongest hits because they have so many attacks before their strongest one. And those attacks that come before will still receive the extra damage buff, but you would deal more damage if the strongest attack received the buff. I hope this made sense.

I understand what you're saying, but according to the description of the 4-piece, damage is increased by a percentage of healing not a percentage of dealing damage. With this logic it shouldnt matter what attack the active character is performing since the buff will always be the same depending on the amount of healing and the crit dmg, rate etc. of the active character. Hopefully I didnt misintepreted :)@@_L10

@@PianoTunesForYou I am aware that the buff is directly correlated to the healing, however think of it like this. If the damage buff is in effect, and then you swap to Raiden, let's say you activate her Elemental Skill to refresh it. That damage multiplier is lower than the initial attack of her burst, meaning that it would have been more worthwhile on her burst. Now you would still have 4 hit quotas left, but one of her many burst infused attacks would deal more damage had her Elemental Skill not been used at that point in time. Additionally, her burst would benefit from Emblem of Severed Fate, given that is what a general Raiden build is on. That is an additional damage multiplier that her Elemental Skill cannot receive. Essentially, buffing a stronger attack is always preferred over a weaker one. The bonus IS the same but the final damage number isn't. I hope this clarifies things.

I see thank you for clarifying! I wasnt aware that emblem set or other multipliers are also of influence on the damage bonus. This makes it more valuable than I thought and will use it on Baizhu in my Cyno aggrevate team :) @@_L10

@@_L10 Song of Days Past gives an additive damage bonus so it isn't affected by base skill multipliers like burst % scaling; the only difference would be damage bonuses specific to different abilities and so buffs like emblem 4pc or The Catch would be lost on a stack that got used on her skill but nothing else. That also means that the big slash of Raiden's ult would gain the same as all the basic attacks afterwards; Song of Days Past actually benefits smaller hits MORE than larger ones, if weighing it relative to attack!
