I think the artifact void gauntlet with fire staff will be a top dps combo. Using VG buffs then the artifacts ability to make ranged weapons apply the VG’s dot, you do your regular fire staff rotation and not only do you stack fire staff smolder stacks but you stack VG’s dot effect. I think this is going to do a lot of dps
Artifact hatchet is a sleeper and one of my favorite. There are at the moment at least 3 boses I prefer to go ranged for and artifact hatchet really synergizes well with throwing skill tree. So yes, niche but in those niche cases it will do a great job.
Rapier is way too OP. After I saw the buff to flurry having I-frames I couldn't believe it. I love the weapon and have been using it for a long time now, but this is seriously insane
kinda glad someone mentioned the fact they keep making rapier better and better. That weapon has been great since launch and for some reason keeps getting stronger. INT also has always kinda been the favorite imo and them buffing it is crazy to me. Feels like INT and rapier are just out of this world better than others.
17:20 Didnt test the FS Artifact, which also Deals Strike damage + has 20% extra damage on Close targets. Running the Artifact as Int would easily let you reach at least 14k damage, more if optimised properly.
Running the FS artifact as INT cuts out 150 INT passive due to being almost entirely strike damage (and also likely the 100 INT passive). The potential damage you gain by sitting in melee range (and you have to be VERY close) is pretty much immediately lost by losing that extra dmg. Your weapon perks are also worse than that of a normal 3perker since you end up using the last perk slot for a gem slot to not lose even more damage. One slot will always be taken up by Empowering Incinerate. So a BiS FS has 2 extra perks over Artifact. Sure, the Strike variant may gain a small amount of damage against Ancient. It will absolutely not "easily reach at least 14k". BiS Fire Staff didn't even reach 13k against Angry Earth while benefitting from all INT perks and having the 30% fire bonus against AE instead of the 20% strike bonus against Ancient.
Thank you for this useful information... If the Butcher SNS gets a lot of its damage from bleed, then if someone else in the party is running Rapier, my assumption is dps for one or both would be considerably less? While understanding the conditions and limitations, things like application of Rend from SNS attacks as an example were/werenot factored into the equation? I knew SNS DPS would be taking a hit in S3 and it's clear that while still viable has a considerable reduction in DPS along side the Great Sword.
Rapier bleed and SnS bleed are separate debuffs, there shouldn't be any overlap there. Impact of rend on weapon is minimal since dummies have negligible armor values. SnS would go up significantly under optimal circumstances.
@DukeSloth so if I understand correctly artifacts can drop with one completely random perk, and if it is not the one you like, you can somehow reroll that perk to what you want or add a gem slot?
Hey man, very nice video! Is there also something like this for healer? :) I am considering going healer, or is this just always void gauntlet/flail and life staff?
We did hit much different numbers when it comes down to BB and VG on dummy parsing. In our results BB should be much higher in output. With the Finisher Rapier and blood cancel we hit 37,7 seconds and with the Pestilence BB we were on 40,8 seconds. If X-R did the parses again, I assume he used Clawshot again, which is still not optimal to max out DPS on a BB and our VG parses were also higher.
I will double check on the abilities used, but your BB numbers are in line with the results for the BB here. They aren't much higher in output, they are almost exactly the same: You had roughly 12250 dps, slightly less since dummies aren't exactly 0.5mil health but I'm too lazy to look up the exact dummy value. It's very close to the value on the table here without weaknesses (11846). It's your Rapier numbers that are significantly lower. Maybe the person testing Rapier didn't have a blood letting ring? That would a massive cut into rapier DPS. Or possibly not a backstab test for Rapier which would ruin your resets? Not sure what else could explain such a low Rapier value.
@@DukeSloth My question is how did you lower Rapier even more. You were saying our DPS were " significantly lower" when its pretty much straight forward with Flurry - Input cancel - Flurry - Input Cancel - Flurry - Input Cancel - FnF. We kept constantly rotating with all animation cancels but we also didnt include Oblivion or Leadership support or any offhand support at all that would increase our outputs. We just tested mainhand and raw dps numbers with pure BS/HS on BW dummies
That's your Problem, you Dont cancel flurry. It applies the bleed at the Last flurry Hit. Combo should be evade -> light -> flurry and use FnF on cooldown This ist how we got the Wurm down in one Phase (world record btw) Also multiple rapiers are No Problem as you pop each others bleeds
@@leonheim1245 You clearly dont know of what im talking about and you miss the point entirely. No one said anything about cancelling the last flurry tick and with the new ref. cap you wont need any LAs and the cancel is about cancelling the end animation so you can flurry faster instead of waiting half a second before you can input another flurry into the queue.
What is the best perk to add to the Finisher? Also what build do you recommend ? I was thinking refreshing move for finisher if I spec into Tondo because if not the abilities are not up enough, but if I use evade instead of tondo then maybe keenly empowered ? The weapon has keen tondo on it so I was wonering why you wouldnt want to use Tondo ?
What weapon would go well with GS? I feel like butcher could also help with the dps of GS since it also has bleed on top of the big hits from the heavies.
Both are scaling fairly high in terms of DPS here, depending on which mob type you look at. They also have better DPS uptime than melee weapons due not not needing to avoid as much. Imo both are absolutely suitable for expedition runs.
They said ranged weapons will be useable and be able to be of worth but from this it looks like that is false. Besides fs. Will the bow ever be a thing for pve?
it can do big dmg, for pve i use all left tree.. flurry, put 3 bleeds on the enemy & use finish.. repeat.. for wpn perks i use the extra damage on finish if possible, or healing flurry if solo.. ive never looked at build guides so am no expert, but do see the rapier does huge damage to most enemies. Damage type is still a thing, i use diff wpns for diff things most times, altho the update will prob change that for a while..
I have mained rapier for a long time. What you want is as much empower as you can get, and of course the omnidirectional evade perk. all the empowers plus that perk will amplify your bleed damage. If you have 50% empower when you apply the bleed, the bleed does 50% more damage, empowers active when you use finish, don't matter. As for the rotation, it depends how much cdr you have an how many mobs you are hitting. If you're hitting 2+ targets then all your cooldowns should refresh in the 5 hits. So for groups your rotation is light → evade → light → flurry → evade → light → flurry → evade → light → flurry → finish If you're backstabbing, you have guaranteed crits, meaning you might get enough cdr to pull off the above combo even against single target. If you're hitting 3 or more targets (hard to do) you can most likely refresh evade in one light attack, and effectively spam the hell out of it for insane burst. Arguably more damage than flurry. If your abilities won't refresh instantly. The combo is slightly different. We want omni's damage boost, but we also don't want to wait for it to come off cooldown before we flurry. So, instead of using evade immediately after flurry, we do one light attack first: light → evade → light → flurry → light → evade → light until flurry is back up → flurry → light → evade → light until flurry is back up → light → finish It is also important that every single time you evade, that you do so as quickly as possible after a light connects, or in the case of finish, right as finishg connects, so you don't waste precious time in the recovery animation. Flurry has a recovery animation too, but it's fairly short, so unless flurry resets its own cooldown, it is optional whether you evade immediately, or light first. If you miss your flurry, rely on evade spam to get it back up asap. If you know that the next light attack will refresh evade's cooldown, spam the button press in the few frames leading up to the hit. If you do it right you will prebuffer the input, such that you evade the instant the light attack connects to refresh the cooldown, instead of reactively pressing the button when you see it's off cooldown - anticipate it. Finally, when you're weapon swapping, you may find it useful to evade the moment you swap back to your rapier, it certainly feels smoother to me that way. Dodges can somewhat serve that function as well.
WOW! That's a MASSIVE difference in damage. They REALLY need to tweak it badly. I can't believe this got by beta testing how bad it is. If you aren't rapier and great sword, you'll be useless in this expansion.
Honestly, rapier is one of the weapons that does not bring any utility to the table so its DPS should be higher. Other weapons are great at stuns, rends, control... Rapier is literally just pure DPS. Also saying other weapons are useless is just plain ignorant about how important rend and enfeeble are at high levels.
Wow, seems like neither bow, nor musket, will ever be viable in endgame PvE without at least 40% damage boost. Its crazy. Either that, or then need to get rid of all moronic headshot conditionals for those weapons - its a damn mmorpg game, its hard to hit heads when monsters bend all over the place all the time.
@@datderpderping501 It seems, like they are slowly getting there, cause they raised Musk/Bow dmg by a few points in pve, but they seem to be REALLY scared of overdoing it. I hope they reach the point, when ranged become viable in endgame, when im still interested in this game.
"Warhammer that can move the mountains" my ass can move the mountains. Weakest PvE weapon, weakest PvP weapon. There are few games that give hammers justice, and New World certainly is not one. At least my power fantasy aint friggin Zorro. EDIT - Ill leave this here for everyone to see what being overly dramatic looks like. WH rework would be nice, but bitching about it like a redditor doesnt help. Good video, def interested in serenity
@@sirloinen i mean try to hit anybody who is actively rolling with anything? It definitely needs a buff in pve for sure but it was fine for pvp, and is getting some nice buffs now
@@OkkaOtter True True. And hey, they buffed mighty gavel last minute so yeah. Cant complain too much. Like i edited the post, being too emotional is just gringey
Mm i dont think anything with change cause alot off people complain about server and combat witch are staying the same maybe like 1 2 months then back to low pop servers
