I believe that addicts have list their ability to choose, they act compulsively. I think God wants us to act from a place of free will-and choose to do good rather than acting compulsively-even to do good things. That’s what codependents are- people who feel compelled to fix and ‘help’ others.

Some people have personalities that can lead them to addition, whereas others don't. I was addicted to books for many, many years as they were my friends but in the end had to give it up due to poor eyesight, so these days I listen to audio books. I would have been quite happy to live on a desert island with fiction books as I lived my life through the books I read; though I didn't like reading romance books at all. These days I am addicted to youtube, listening to shows like yours, or watching card making or scrapbooking videos. I listen to sermons, archeology of Israel, plus travel videos. I can no longer knit or crochet while I read, or listen to podcasts as I now have arthritis in my hands, so I make cards until I have too many, then sit & play solitaire while I listen as my hands need something to do & I don't want to take up smoking or eating sweets... So I suppose you have guessed that I am a loner & happy with my own company. I link this right back to my upbringing as a child & never fitted in as a teenager or young adult.

What about the children in gay or lesbian families that are deprived of either father or mother? Not saying gay or lesbian couples shouldn't be allowed to adopt, having two mothers or two fathers is better than having neither. But a same sex household is inherently neglectful. Surrogacy for same sex couples is a whole other can of worms, creating a child to be put in a situation without either a father or a mother is wrong. Children deserve to be raised by a father and a mother.

That would be an interesting idea for a forthcoming Dennis & Julie to have Julie's friends on the program. It could be a roundtable discussion with Dennis serving as the moderator or facilitator if you will. A free flowing conversation on a variety of subjects.

The Bible also says that homosexual activity is sin (Leviticus 18:22, Romans 1:27). However, don't get me wrong, I'm in no position to judge anyone. I'm 76 years old so I was 19 during the summer of love (1967). For the first time the hippie girls were giving sex away for free. I was never a hippie because I worked for a living but as far as the free sex was concerned, I was all over that like white on rice. But even as I was engaging in that sexual activity I knew it was wrong. I knew it was sin. Of course when you're young you think you're going to live forever, so you can do all the sewing you want and never be concerned about the time of reaping. But it does come. At 27 I fell in love but she didn't, and I never got over it. So at 76, I'm still single. However, I'm a very happy person. That's because I live my life filled with gratitude for all the unmerited blessings I've received, and an over developed, self deprecating sense of humor that makes being unhappy pretty much impossible.

Minute 52:00. Addiction = the inability to choose. Frequent or preferred behaviors and repetitive actions do not (necessarily) constitute addiction. Only uncontrollable compulsive behaviors are addiction, such as turning light switches on and off ... and on and off and on and ..... Or dating a stream of "bad boys".

I wonder how Dennis ‘knows’ there are males who are not attracted to females🤔
