Most people who wear dreadlocs in my community wear them because our hair texture is naturally made for them, also its easier for us to manage our hair in that style. The scalp damage that you speak of I have never heard of that, I wore locs for 10 years. Other people that wear locs wear them for religious reasons. Please speak with a Person Of Color about locs and proper care.

Thank you so much for this! I love learning more about them. I understand they originate from religious & spiritual beliefs along with there being a difference between locs & dreadlocks which I didn’t know before I started looking into them further, still trying to figure out & understand more about hair types & textures suited to them. The lady who made mine is a specialist & is very passionate about doing them properly with the correct care throughout & afterwards ☺️
