i remember like years ago seeing them and saying 'oh god this looks so fake, lets check the comments' and all the comments were gushing over them- i was shocked really. glad to see more people are talking about them now. I've noticed on tiktok people have started to sniff them out but i don't think this artist really cares..,
Another youtuber named Rin did a good video on her. There's a video that's not cut like her other videos where she opens and scrolls through the brushes but then her hand moves to where the eraser is in Procreate, and in another video when she's drawing hair the ear just appears out of no where as she brushes. Some of her artwork has also been proven to be stolen from ArtStation and traced over.
Just incase!! Depending on the software, you *can* make a color jitter brush that can change colors depending on pen pressure and other factors. I know it’s possible in CSP. This person is definitely faking it for sure, but they might use the excuse of having a color jitter brush 💀 nice video as always!
I was just saying that outputting two colors at once could be done in Procreate too, by combining two brushes and adjusting the color dynamics settings within the brush.😊
I fell into that trap with them. I remember seeing their “art” back then. I was thinking “SO COOL! Why can’t I render/draw like them?” I never knew it was ai until now. Thank you for sharing this
I’m not defending their “art” at all, but jitter brushes can have multiple colors. However, they’re usually in a similar value I also usually use them to render near the end to add a bit more visual interest and I use them for a way more painterly style. Not this ultra airbrushed look 🥴
Actually, if the person was using Procreate, you can set up a brush to output multiple colors at once. You do it by combining 2 brushes and adjusting the color dynamics on one of the combos brushes you selected. You can also change colors by adjusting the pressure on your stroke. They come out as random colors, but it can be done.
Yeah, when you set the brush to "jitter color", but it doesn't automatically blur the shadows or anything, it just changes colors depending on the color you're using
Real artists : gets no followers and no commissions despite posting a lot of high quality art Fakes and AIs : gets all the followers and expensive commissions while posting fake/traced art or Ai This is so frustrating I’ve been seeing this a lot across social media like why ???
ikr? Not to sound "jealous" (because why should I be jealous of someone faking art lel) but the biggest liars always get the most support they dont deserve.
The most important rule to growth on social media is to post regularly, preferably at least 3-4 times a week, but daily is even better. And someone who just needs to just "draw" the whole picture in 30 minutes just has an advantage over someone, who takes 10 hours. Obviously you can be lucky to go viral with quality content as well, but someone who posts 20 times more things than you has 20 times more possibilites to be as lucky as well, because the algorithm doesn't care about anything that's not shown in the 1 minute video or the single picture you're uploading
Don't forget the third category The reposters. Who take the pictures of artists, repost them and then write "credits go to the rightful artist" without even saying who the artist is and also that doesn't even help.
Generally, you can usually get great basic brushes from good artists for free from their discords etc. Also, the most worth while thing, is probably to look at 3-4 tutorials on making your own brushes, that way you don't have to rely on hoping you find a brush that "works", but you can instead make brushes as you progress.
THANK YOU FOR FINALLY DOING A VIDEO ON THIS! I’ve been commenting on their videos telling their viewers that their art is fake, but they always get deleted!
I actually once did a deep dive recently and for once she does steal not only ai art like with jasmin (I literally backtracked it to an ai picture with the same tiger and arm + blackground) but she also steals from actual artists and in her 500$ course u can see her trace an actual picture for a second which explains why her actual tracing artstyle looks so different from her ai stuff :/ Also love ur content ever since I found u from the pokemon card contest video💘
i saw a video of theirs on instagram and they were "drawing" a realistic Milo from Atlantis and my first thought was 'they're going to draw a generic white guy' and they did. makes sense that it was AI
Yeah by rin. We all flooded her comments saying she can’t draw real poc and anyone who sided with her, wed show rin’s scammer “artist” video. She got banned/deleted her account within the same week as that video 😂
the way you said 'i feel like most artists draw the person first' i fr felt like u were talking abt me cus yesterday i made a drawing for a dtiy and I indeed drew the person first and then the animal 😭💀💀
Funny thing, there is a thing called as custom brush. I think I have a few (not mine to share, given publicly by creator). But it wasn't that perfect as sus "art". I wouldn't dare to do it in my canvas (my phone wasn't strong enough to handle it). It so laggy as hell, but I could verify that it could be done.
Clips studio does have dual brushes but I'm not 100% sure they work that way lmao I have used some brushes that work in multiple colors though. A lot of artists sketch over a photo and then paint on that for realism but yeah not my bag other than for practice generally. It sucks when someone fakes shit to basically steal views from actual artists by lying to people. Just not cool.
minor note but even in csp (not sure if that artists program can also do it but) you can have a brush with multiple colors, its just called color jitter. ofc having a gradient in a brush is wild tho lol, such obvs AI in some illustrations. In 6:08 its kinda wild to call this cheating when honestly its just more efficient, less creative and practical to learning if you're just literally airbrushing everything but effective ig, i just wouldn't expect them to get a job as an artist if all they can do is just trace without understanding what actually goes into the structure (just from seeing this video). When i use reference photos i just very loosely grab the shapes and then do the rest, i see this as lazy and just pumping shi out.
On their website, she had photo "showcases" of her courses and one of the artwork on the tablet very obviously AI (it was a completely MANGLED AI face)
I was always suspicious of this artist but thankfully because of your video now I know for sure that they were an ai image person it's really disappointing by how much ai they use and stuff :/
Such skills that the light comes from the right on Jasmine's face but it comes from the left on the tiger's head. Only talented artist can bend the light like that.
if you look closely at her vids you can literally see her select and use the eraser tool. i think Rin talked about it on a vid a few months ago. it’s crazy
Yeah I remember coming across her reels on IG, especially that Jasmine, and once I saw that earring, BAM!!! AI. Also the tiger instantly popping up, maybe it's to not accidentally erase over her blocked out colors to reveal the pre-render, as you know, might give away her bullshizz. Plus she always frames her reels to only show her canvas, not the whole app.
I mean, you can make brushes that paint multiple colors (color-scattering, either bei "stamp" or by "stroke") and I actually would recommend brushes like that if you want a more traditional painting look, because you can vary color more easily (digital art is very "clean" looking and that's something to help with that) but most digital artists don't use that function and this artist is not using it either. You can just see how it doesn't behave like that and their art is CLEAN digital style, not painterly. It's just used as an eraser as said in the video.
To be fair, Kat has been using AI as a buzzword so it seems more prevalent than it is. If the AI images are taken out of the equation, its still bad - Ylnast is still falsely advertising for a product and not actually drawing the art they're using to advertise. So, this is closer to tracing, since painting over someones work is a type of tracing -not inherently bad since its ok for practice but bad here since its 1. not disclosed and 2. for profit. Even before AI got big Ylnast has been "eraser revealing" everything from photobashed art (collages made with photoshop),photographs and other people's art that was altered slightly. The only change is that the pool of things being traced/painted over includes AI generated images
Omg i remember staying on their profile some weeks ago for way too long because I was SO confused. I watched jasmin and the el dorado piece several times.
indeed, there is a lot of them with similar pattern bait with tutorial, and show how important and easy it was to drawing with (custom brush) they had, like saying that, if you buy this brushes your art will improve and the only thing that holding back them (the viewer) is not having a "good brush" which all you need is : hard & soft brush, lasso tool, eraser, and pen with pressure compatibility (and time).
on 1:46 i think this can also be achieved by regular brushes if you're using a blending mode layer (e.g. color dodge) as long as the background colour you're painting on isn't white AND isn't 100% pitch black. a very well-made custom brush can also achieve this by altering the brush blending mode or pressure jitter (meaning how the brush behaves when it's given different levels of pressure). p.s. I'm not defending ylanast, I just wanna inform ppl who may wanna apply this type of brushstroke to their art.
It doesn’t mean that jumps mean fakeness, it means she is taking this fact into account while assessing this WHOLE thing. It is one factor of many that supports the allegation.
@@Skadivore no she was literally saying "theres a lot of jump cuts" implying that the jump cuts were a reason to believe it was a fake recording. and I was joking that it is a tiktok video so ofc there are jump cuts lol
@@Skadivore You're so annoying. You didn't understand what the person said and attempted to intellectualize a simple comment, as I saw you do with others. You must be exhausting to be around. 😮💨It's a joke. And it also is a good point. Go sit down somewhere. SMH
@@LadyAstarionAncunin oh now i read your other comment, too. I see. You are just as offensive as the person that I criticized for being insulting. You know, people who have to resort to insulting are always shedding bad light on themselves, and since you do just the same by getting unnecessarily personal - well, that speaks for itself. Volumes. That is probably why you got so triggered by my criticism. This video is about breaking down problematic content very accurately. i neutrally added to what was said and you come here flipping tables - lol what is wrong with you
I remember seeing her art and always thinking it looks sus but just assuming she referenced AI. If she traces it/paints over it that's another layer of gross.
you can use certain settings to be able to draw different colours with one colour brush! colour jitter etc. but it looks a lot different than what they show in their videos.
I thought it was more color theory and the brush they used was more going a bit transparent and thus having it be the lighter cream and dark brown overlapping to make that tan color
Also the 64 brush pack she’s selling is a painted over version of DannyMac 3D’s model. It’s ok if you’re inspired by it but to just paint over it and use it to promote your brush pack is kinda slimey.
I just want to point something: You keep mentioning that brushes can only do one color. The person is using procreate, which has ways of using 2 or more colors (blended) in a single stroke. I even double checked and the video "Digital Dual Color Greenery Ideas in Procreate - Paint with Two Colors in the same stroke!" clearly shows it. So that can't be used as "proof" it's AI. Procreate is an amazing art program that can make VERY realistic traditional brush strokes!
For some reason she keeps going off on wrong tangents like this. Same a few videos ago with the drawing style of rendering a whole color section first before putting down the next color. That style was pretty popular 10y ago. It pains me bc the rest of the video is right and important 😢
i love watching ur vids and i have something to say! maybe it depends on program, but im drawing on ibis paint x and when u click to edit the brushes u have a slider called "jitter hue" or something like that, and ddepending how much you slide you can make a pink strand with like one or 2 up to 3 other hues/colors. so there are brushes that change the color but honestly i dont like them but its becouse i cant use them lol.
What you're saying totally makes sense and they can absolutely be scamming by erasing top layers but I would like to correct you here on something. There are ways in which brushes can paint multiple colors at once. In photoshop there is a tool called the mixer brusher where you can load multiple colors of paint or even use it sort of like a stamp where you've added lighting to a ball and can paint basically fully rendered pipes and tubes in one stroke. Also where you showed them painting skin sort of looked like if you paint an orange color on an overlay layer above a dark base. IDK if that's what they are doing.... usually that would be a later step in the process for most artists. But I'm just saying- there are ways to paint legitimately similar to that. Are THEY legit? I don't know... seems sketchy that there is so many cuts and they don't show the whole process. I'm just putting the info out there because I don't want to see real artists that use these tools get harassed because of stuff like this. There's enough of that going around already because of AI.
you can have different colours in one brush stroke if you use colour jitter or sm similar although it isn't as smooth as their art lmao (lots of colours at once but it does add a nice effect if u use it sporadically/on a small scale)
I just found your channel a few weeks ago and I wanted to say I absolutely love ITT! I had a A suspicious feeling they weren't really making and producing these pieces. I really thought at one point that it was their's. now I know it's not T_T, I really wish AI wasn't a thing smh
1:43 I'm not trying to defend this person, I don't know them, and I think it's good to remain skeptical, but if you open Photoshop, and set the brush blend mode to color dodge / dodge, you can achieve this effect. I use it to paint specific highlights and things with an intense glow if I'm not rendering a glow effect with layer styles. Just wanted to demystify what we're looking at, that on its own actually isn't anything concerning. I think it's good to remain skeptical, though, and I'll shut up and keep watching. ❤
I'm not sure if this is the same artist but I remember seeing many "cartoon vs realism" type tiktoks years ago and it actually made me want to purchase Procreate because that was the program that was most frequently used. It's such a shame that this artist uses Ai and clever erasing to fake those results for tiktok clout and fame :,( I hope not all artists who do/did this trend are fake as well...
Damn bruh i remember this acc from years ago and I was always like damn how do they paint so effortlessly and then I kinda forgot about it and just found out its ai like damn I genuinely thought thats just a really skilled artist..
This one has been known for a while, before AI. I think she used to just paint over the reference. She rarely showed sketches (if i remember any, which i don't). Now with AI she gets to still scam people in a lazier way.
I remember when someone else had called her out for her "art", even when I looked at it, I thought that it was good but soon I was like: "Hold up, wait a minute....something ain't right..-"
I saw this persons art all the time and it gave me so much insecurity about my own art, and i always delt like surely they overlay a real photo or something but the comments always bought into it fully so i just ignored it.
Not defending the scammer or anything. But there are brushes you can get in clip studio that use both the "front and back" colors you picked while applying an effect on top (for example Add Glow) so technically you CAN have a brush that apply 3 colors at the same time. You probably would have to be a god to use those well though.
I completely agree with you about everything you said here except you said that brushes can only be one colour, if you have colour jitter on they can change colour mid stroke, I don't think that's what they are doing but just something to look out for.
7:20 ironicly you can make your brush produce multiple colours. I don't know whether it works in csp, but photoshop brushes have colour dynamic options and you can get really intresting results with certain brush shapes and settings.
I remember a month or so ago people started fully calling them out and everyone started defending them,, I remember going and watching their stuff again and being like “there’s no way they drew this” it was funny seeing all the eraser trend videos tho
With the three colour brush, it is possible with edited luminous brushes and fully self made brushes. You can make a brush that literally makes a rainbow with each stroke. Note that they are using procreate aswell, not the program shes using, so things are different. Im not endorsing faking art, im just saying the brush could be plausible
Oooh such bs! Many apps allow to change brush color mid stroke! Photoshop allows you to set brush to go aaaaaall the way through color spectrum in one stroke. Medibang has color blending setting, so while drawing you pick up color underneath as if you're drawing wet on wet.
And the fact she has fooled everyone that watchets her videos is very messed up. Yes, I know it's not any of their faults I used to luv her drawings, but I understand now that her drawing is probes being traced of AI art. And I'm not trying to offend artist that has the same art style no, I'm implying that she fakes her drawings and scams multiple of ppl and I find that really fucked up. All I'm saying is she is probes an AI user and markets brushes that don't actually work, its none of their faults.
I do mostly realistic art and I literally only use one square brush (I have it on my brush bar twice, once with the new blend mode for brushes in CSP because it mixes colour more like traditional painting, which I love because I learned to paint traditionally, and one that doesn't mix at all to get hard edges and lay down pure colour). That's it. You can render absolutely anything with a single brush, you just gotta know what you're doing. I have nothing against brush packs, I'm sure there are tons of niche brushes that other artists use for specific things that makes their digital painting process faster for sure, but it feels like there are a lot of brush packs trying to sell you something you really don't actually need and won't get the most out of it you don't know your fundamentals. Scammers like this that fake process videos to sell people brushes they absolutely don't need are terrible.
1:59 I'm just gonna give my 2 cents. In the art program I use you can actually paint different colors in one stroke depending on speedstroke or pressure
So the brush i use does 'many colour' like that BUT it wont work like how they does it. If you colour on the same layer, itll drag the colour under it and like doing wet on wet.
Late to the party but my painting process I have multiply mural-y brushes in Photoshop which literally doing several tones of my picked colour to lay down a grungy base I then work on with a more thinner detailing brush. It is possible but those brushes usually made to start a base and not fitting for finer crispier details - I get what you say the painting progress a big give away and the jumpy video in the progress just proves that. So yes I agree to NOT support this person, but it feels a little bit mis-information that no PS brushes can result multiply hues in a stroke, it is rare I don't see it that often but it is possible
not me being an absolute brush hoarding gremlin getting all nervous at the end of your video ToT "most artists only use a few brushes" *me being like nervous squidward because I absolutely use too many brushes* lmfao To be fair, when I got clip studio paint for the firs time, going through the asset store, I was absolutely overwhelmed with all the free assets, I soooooooo take advantage of those lol
you can tell it is ai by looking closely at it, but I don't think the process itself gives that away, a lot of this comments are nitpicks, like the thing about brush colors..wouldnt that just be because of the brush preassure?.. but you don't even need to look at the process to see it's ai once you notice
Isn’t this called eraser artists? The drawing in beneath the layers and then erase bits away until she has the whole drawing there was another artist who also got called out for it and was using ai
