Join German artist Franz Erhard Walther as he activates his Wall Formation, 'Stellwerk' at Tate Modern.
Using a combination of fabrics and objects in his work, Walther invites the audience to become an active participant. As he shares his path to becoming an artist, he encourages us to question the traditional idea of the artist as a creator and the audience as a spectator.

What does participation in art mean to you?

Tate, Yes, Art always jumps in and out of time as I engage with the Art I Activate it and am Activated by it~through the primary tools of my Expanding Consciousness, Perception and Awareness. 🦋💎🦋 I experience participation with Art as an ever evolving interaction of these three tools and as a result the Art evolves and expands as I do~🧘‍♀️

When i compare him to other figures of minimalist and participatory art, i sometimes feel like he is more off the grid in a historical context

Art is somehow more when the artist is ordinary. But then again, the unsurpassed Warhol.

Every time I have seen his work it just bores me.. It's like a less imaginative and dumbed down version of Minimalism. We also did a project with his at my University and he was less than kind to the students :-/

I don't think you know what Minimalism is, mate.

In art there is the notion of "strong" and "weak" . This art is well ....not bad , but not strong also , compared to Francis Bacon's art e.g.
