Great topic for these days, where many of us work from home, or are forced to do so. I especially liked where Loish talked about having bad mindset when starting work and making connection between fear and failure and creative process. That is a perfect fuel for procrastination and art block and it's hard to break this mindset. Positive mindset is hard to have when filled by fear, but it is a great solution to relax and replenish energy. I found incredibly useful how Loish talked about generating ideas on creative days and then finishing them on more lazy days, since her finalizing process requires less focused energy. Sometimes it feels like drawings should be done separately from start to finish, but it's reassuring to know that it's ok to move between pieces and stages of finish, and put energy where it matters most at the moment. I also identify with overanalyzing and overthinking things, which blocks me. So I will try to follow the advice and just move to doing :) Loish mentions information and knowledge overload that is prevalent these days. Very interesting thought about being ok with not learning new things for some time and simply perform with the knowledge you have; mastering the things you know before soaking more in. I am guilty of the trap of preparing and not taking a leap and just creating. Very interesting thought from both of you on that!

It is really interesting how people who did not enjoy school that much become really good at teaching! Maybe it is a causal thing. Thank you for this conversations Wouter!

I love your content! The titles of the videos aren't very surchable though. Most people wouldn't search for "art conversation" ."Interview with loish" would be better, two k words. If you want more people to see your videos think of titles that relate to your content and most people would think to search for them. You can see examples from other art youtubers. Also your thumbnails aren't very "clickble" most people would miss it while scrolling. You can see examples for artist thumbnails as well. I really love your art and i have no patience to see what's coming next on this channel!

@@wtulp Kasey Golden, Ross Draws , drawing with waffles and Ethan Becker have good thumbnails and titles, you can look at them for inspiration. Also thumbnails with artworks on them are more appealing . If there is text it should be minimal with large words and provocative, to make you wanna click. Something like "MAKING MONEY AS AN ARTIST" "HOW TO DRAW A CARICATURE" "SO YOU WANT TO BE AN ARTIST" "HOW TO BE MORE PRODUCTIVE AS AN ARTIST" etc. Schoolism also made an interview with loish you can look at their thumbnail.Look through their most popular videos their thumbnails are very interesting to look at(those with the little character) and the titles are good.Titles also should be simple, provoking and with big letters, but not necessarily. For the last 2 videos you posted i would advise you to make a thumbnail similar to the schoolism one with the little character. For the Loish interview you can put her art as thumbnail. And for the titles it can be something like 1 "LIFE OF AN ARTIST - Interview with Loish" or "FINDING BALANCE as an artist-interview with LOISH (the first one woul be more searchable, i think) and on the thumbnail words "Interview with LOISH" 2 "CONFIDENCE TIPS for artists with Jonathan Hardesty" or "How to gain confidence in your art - podcast with Jonathan Hardesty" or "What to do if you hate your art?" And for you 3th video with the caricature it can be something like "How to draw a face" "How to draw a caricature" something simple that people would search for. And the thumbnail can be a closer picture of the caricature not a screenshot . Maybe with big words "How to draw a caricature" You can also add a speedpaint or painting in real time in the background if you want. How you present your videos is half of the work. I hope i didn't annoyed you with all that suggestions. Just so many people post videos with great content, but nobody sees them because of details like this.

Thanks for sharing! What a great talk, I kept nodding to myself through out the entire video and found everyting so relatable. Like, I can also remember what I listened to while painting different parts of a painting, need a schedule to kickstart myself, and used to get lots of complaints from teachers that I was drawing too much in class. I could go on with even more examples. Keep it up :D
