so happy to find this video of a beloved maestro. If you have the opportunity to take a class with her in New Hampshire, GO!

I loved her from the moment she cut up her painting on the table saw! I've been interested in trying egg tempera, and after listening to her I understand why. Just an old nerd/woodworking/draftsman/introvert/history buff who's more fascinated by the craft than the art. Hopefully one day I can get in one of her workshops. Heck, I'd be happy just to have her book show up again on Amacon. Thanks I found this video fascinating.

Hello, I would like to ask please, for painting with egg tempera on unprimed masonite is better to attach or (stick) canvas? I appreciate an answer. Thank you very much.

Attaching fabric is most important when working on wood supports that have a grain pattern (solid wood, plywood) - if you don't, the grain pattern can telegraph through the gesso to the paint layers and lead to cracks and delamination. Attaching fabric to a hardboard panel isn't as important, isn't required, because fiberboards do not have a grain pattern; still, canvas would impart a bit of stability.
