I recently had the chance to sit down with a past member, Rania, to share her chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) recovery journey.
It is profound!
Rania was once in a place of complete overwhelm.
She was on a really rough journey with her health and her sleep was a huge problem for her. She was a super achiever and held incredibly high standards for herself. She also didn't give herself much time to recharge, and being a single mum and working full time, she didn't feel like she could prioritise her health.
I think Rania's story will be relatable to so many!
Rania found us when she was at a really low point, and in our chat together, she lets us in on her story and what she did to achieve recovery.
Her life changing story is incredibly inspiring. She's now travelling the world, selling her art, and living her life to the absolute fullest. Something that she didn't see even the slightest bit possible two years ago.
Our chat together highlights the power of patience and acceptance, and emphasising the importance of time in the recovery process.
Some things we cover in this chat are:
Community Support
Acceptance and Patience
Baseline and Practices
Balanced Approach
Rania's story is a powerful one. One that I know will benefit you greatly.
Sit back, relax, and enjoy.

I like how she had a to do list for things that gave her energy, things she wanted to do, and she put those as a priority. She needed to feel some joy when life was so hard.

I’ve had CFS since 1991. I am now 63 years old. My whole system changed in the Middle East during desert storm. I went to Guam after my 13 month tour & I could barely get to work on time. I was totally unable to do any of my physical training. Only two years prior to that I had been through four different military obstacle course schools & 2 law enf academies. After the war I was 32 so my focus was LIFE cuz I had seen so much death. We got pregnant & I was so tired yet very happy. I would stay awake for days and then sleep for days after she was born we moved to Louisiana where my husband grew up. I got out of the military because I couldn’t function and I had no military help. I eventually divorced my husband because I couldn’t handle him emotionally anymore. I had body parts that weren’t functioning like my toes wud not spread apart and that went on to be neuropathy. My sleeping habits have been absolutely horrible for 33 years now. I sleep maybe two hours in the morning & I never nap. Every now and then I will crash for 15 hours but that may take weeks. I can’t determine anything. I know this has to have had some type of impact on my brain; but, the doctors don’t know how to handle CFS. I’ve had total blackouts when driving. Then had an MRI and an EKG and nothing is wrong. I stay happy because I fear anything less. I just worked myself up right now trying to find my phone and all along I was looking at this video. I don’t think I am able to go into recovery at all. They gave me amitriptyline in 2012 and I gained 84 pounds, so that’s not helping anything with my confidence but I’m off the pills & with chronic pain, chronic inflammation, neuropathy of the lower extremities, Crohn’s disease and fibromyalgia, it’s difficult to do much unless I’m on a complete empty stomach. I am just praying that God will give me strength to make a full recovery. My blood work is perfect and my brain works well for the most part until I go on these blackouts which are all undetermined so it’s pretty scary. I’ve had to hire a housekeeper and yard man. I can’t do any work, but I can sit in the chair and think so. I went to Medical and Legal school to learn to be a veteran service officer to help my brothers and sisters obtain their compensation for injuries and illnesses; but, this is getting to be too stressful and I’m feeling myself slip even farther down the rabbit hole. Still no sleep unless I medicate myself & the VA dr is very happy to help with that. 😏 Cheers to you for having had a recovery; but, I think being young has everything to do with it. I’m just happy you found a way. Bravo!

Oh & cold weather under 65 kills me. I take a trip down toward Miami or Key West and I feel much better so I’m thinking it has something to do with sea level. If I go to the mountains, I am in severe chronic pain the entire time and I’m bedridden. I’m actually in Key West right now and I’ve been sleeping a good 6 hours nightly so there’s got to be something said for warm weather or sea level. I feel really good on a ship at sea but I just can’t handle all the people. I really crash on a ship, but, none of my sleep is restful. I am also really good when I’m doing artwork or something creative and that’s why I love to do my work with Veterans because I have to think hard and figure out a way to connect his health problem to the military and sometimes that’s not always easy. . If I would stay home, then I’ll just suffer in chronic pain and be exhausted, but if I get up and get active, no matter the pain, then I eventually feel 40% better, but I can’t do it every day. Work one day rest the next day.

I just heard a comment that went something like this ' the discipline is in doing less..its easy to more; that takes no discipline'. Are there any on on one coaching in this course or is it group coaching calls ?
@chloed935
@chloed935 7 месяцев назад
It’s all group coaching on the calls, but if you put a specific problem in the Facebook group other members help you workshop it there, the coaches often contribute too. I do odd sessions with a separate private coach if there’s something I really can’t work out within the group, but most stuff is covered
