Update 1July 2024. @smikusmikis mentioned pen firmware 1.0.5 has tilt support now. Forgot to mention that Android 14 has locked the Android/data folder where Infinite Painter artworks are saved to. So to backup Infinite Painter artworks, one has to connect the tablet to a computer instead of relying on backup options available from HyperOS. Also the three backup options (Xiaomi Cloud, Google Drive, external storage) DO NOT seem to backup EVERYTHING.
If you're experiencing connectivity issues with your Mi Pad 6/6s Pro smart pen, try removing any magnetic flaps or attachments from your case, as they can interfere with the smart pen's connectivity. This interference is a major design flaw, so removing magnetic items should resolve the problem.
Hello Teoh. I'm recently buy Xiaomi 6s pad pro, and tilt supported on my unit with Focus pen. Tested on HyperOS v1.0.2.0 Global, Focus Pen v1.0.3(worked, then firmware updated to v1.0.5 also tilt worked) and Infinite Painter v7.1.5(one time purchased)
I really didn't expect you to review this tablet this fast. Because I really want your opinion on drawing on this tablet. I'm right now looking too find a tablet. My choices right now are ipad air 11, tab s9 or this. I really want to know about the drawing experience. Currently using ipad 9th gen without apple official pen.
If you don’t consider your tablet to be slow, the low cost option is to buy the Apple Pencil rather than spend a lot more for a new tablet. Both iPad Air and Tab S9 are good as pens have tilt and pressure. Xiaomi pen does not have pressure. That is the main difference for drawing.
@@teohontech7141 This is also my options, unknowingly my 9th gen iPad is already good enough. The downside is it only have about 35GB of available space. I'm using my 10$ 3rd party pen which is usable for taking note. I can't compared with 1 gen Apple Pencil in terms of drawing because I never try it. Because I'm right taking seriously with my drawing and do want to do my drawing involving sketching, line art, coloring etc.
Finally someone made a sketch review on this tablet! Hoping to see you do a review on Vivo Pad 3 pro then compare it with Xiaomi Pad 6s Pro before you sell it again😄
Drawing on Medibang is a good decent app, infinite painter I had bad experience. Wanting to get this due to its capabilities & the price. If I want something near to Samsung Tab series, I would get this. Anyway, I also do enjoy watching you drawing & testing the device outdoors.
hi i want to ask you a question does screen protector reduces the pen accuracy for drawing purpose? i have ask you some question in the past on your lenovo tablet review, thanks you its a great help for me.
as far as Xiaomi is concerned, you pen is ALREADY TILT, hence its confused. Try with the tablet in horizontal position, it might be more consistent that way. Once again, Chinese makers DON'T test their own product, they just ship them as they make them. Xiaomi is the WORST offender. Xiaomy Yi action camera was shipped with OUT OF FOCUS lens for an entire year before the problem was detected with NO PRODUCT RECALL / rectification. Give it one year or buy it used. THEN the firmware etc would have ironed out their beta runs.
hello there, i have been watching a few video of yours, youre explaining very well so detailled and precise, i wanna ask if its good for note taking and drawing? i hesitate with the xiaomi pad 6 and this one, however the only problem is i use CLIP STUDIO PAINT files are a little heavy, is 256 gb enough for that? i know that the redmi pad pro has micro sd card to expand the storage whic i'm super interested. keep going btw.☺i do play a few games like roblox, among us but thats it, no big game like genshin or anything.
Good question. For iPad, there are much cheaper third party pens with tilt support and palm rejection. Those work well. Pressure sensitivity is good for creating line variation, thin and thick lines. If your lines only have same thickness throughout, it will look boring, relatively speaking. Eg, Imagine creating calligraphy with brush vs ballpoint pen. I will make a video on this interesting question.
@@teohontech7141 and for painting does pressure sensitivity required and if I don’t have a budget to buy an Apple Pencil can’t I do some really good paintings ?
Planning to buy at the end of this year, still saving up. Planning to pursue digital and graphic designs. Can't decide should I buy Pad 6 or upgrade to Pad 6s pro 👀
Nice review as usual. 6S user here. I think the cause of disconnections are due to the magnetic cover, when the front cover is attached to the back of the tablet: if you slightly detach it the pen works again. Best wishes from Spain.-
@@teohontech7141 i got the 12gb/512 from Burlington square however i saw the pen close to 150$ out there. Can i know where u got it for 100$? The only place i see this price is on shoppee. Thanks
Hello! i'd like to ask your opinion about which graphic tablet shouild I pick. My 2 options are XPPen Deco Pro and Huion Kamvas 16 (2021). I've always used one with no screen so I'd really like to try one, for this reason i'd like to know if, in terms of drawing, those 2 models would you just fine, so that i can pick the screen over the new technology that Xppen has
Drawing performance is good for both. So it’s just personal preference whether you want a display or not, and your budget, and how much table space you have
i think you should go to samsung tab s9 fe+ if for drawing purpose as he say there is no pressure sensitivity for xiaomi and xiaomi 6s pro & tab s9 fe+ prices is almost the same but different storage which is xiaomi 512gb, s9 fe+ 256gb
xiaomi pad 6s pro or samsung galaxy tab s9 FE for note taking? Note taking and reading pdf + annotating is the main purpose for me. Another thing: does refresh rate matters while using the pen?
Palm rejection is much better now. I didn't think about palm rejection at all, except for my fingers from the holding hand going onto the display due to thin bezels
Thank you for this review. Been looking into Xiaomi pad 6 pro and the Samsung FE 9+ and been wondering whether which of the two are better for digital art.
