I am very happy whenever I discover another young person who shows the world that good music can come from a bass.

Bravo! And the "you can play bass or drums" story makes me think of Bottesini. For him, it was "you can play bass or bassoon". Fortunately, both Bottesini and Boguś, you both just made the right choice! For the whole music world!

About Francaix concerto, I totally agree with you (58:40). Obviously Francaix didn’t know how to write for this instrument. His concerto is quite interesting, but sounds more like orchestral fragments. About Henze concerto, I would like to have another view. At first I didn’t like it too much either, but after hearing it again and again, I began to like it (or began to persuade myself to like it), and I also began to understand (or at least I thought that I could understand) what kind of a picture of the world he drew on this instrument.
