I finally got my new Artista wheel for use in the studio. Here I unbox it and share my thoughts on it as well as doing a quick demo to see how well it works.
Good demo! I have the same wheel with the foot pedal. I also am trying to throw standing up. The pedal is sort sticky. I will try the side speed knob because running the foot pedal while standing is awkward.
Hi came across this vlog today, it's says you uploaded a year ago, do you still li!e your wneel? I'm a adult ed student, so don't have a wheel at home, would you recommend it for what would be a home work space, I don't plan to expand in getting a kiln as I could fire items in class but would rea?oh like to expand and improve me throwing technique. Hey, I haven't been great and tracking comments but im getting back into the swing of things and will comment more. yes, I really like this wheel. I use it for about 80% of my throwing since I now throw standing up to save my back. I only do large pieces sitting down. I would highly reccomend this wheel especially for the price.
I just bought one. I feel like it’s out of balance and the bats Move a little bit. Do you think that I should call costumer service or is something that I’m doing wrong? I feel I can’t center even without the bats. I’m not a beginner
Its always hard to say for certain but I doubt the wheel head would be off centered. Some bats don't have great bat holes and often will lift off the wheel head. I make sure the bats are properly aligned on the pins and use clay around the edges to "adhere" the bat down to the wheel. Double check your second pin to make sure its not off. I see this a lot with new students using bats and getting used to them. If your 100% its not your bats then you only real option would be to call support. Good luck and hope you figure it out.
You dont just throw faster on a whim, as you need to balance speed with what your actually throwing. I think this is a case of you not knowing what your talking about even if while technically true isn't an appropriate solution.
