A lot of them are actually really clever or unique. I'm thinking of ones that represent specific folklore or cultural references. The one that always sticks out to me is Befana.
I mean, it'd definitely be possible. You'd just need to keep them in a state where they're processing the emotions while also being calm. And if push comes to shove, the therapist can always shoo away the akuma or talk the patient down.
A lot of the time Hawkmoth only akumatizes one persona a day/episode because of the kids show formula. Of course there are some exceptions but for the most part he chooses to single out one person who’s having a bad time! Also, I forgot if there was an in-universe reason for Hawkmoth only sending out one Akuma at a time so if anyone else sees this I’d like a refresher haha
@@spimingyarn nope, no in-universe reason, but they could've easily made one so idk why they didn't just have his miraculous be damaged in some way so he couldn't send out an army of akumas.
@@spimingyarn It's never explicitly *stated* that he's only able to do one at a time, but his whole reason for turning Nathalie into Catalyst was so she could amplify his power and let him send out multiples, so we can assume he normally only gets one at a time in the same way Ladybug only gets one Lucky Charm and Chat Noir only gets one Cataclysm.
Fun fact about the man who is always in the Banana Costume: there’s one episode where an Akumatized villain can grant people wishes by shooting them, and when he shoots Banana Guy he becomes a cucumber and rolls down the street
Chloe decided her character should be Queen Banana because she was originally gonna say Queen Bee, but someone called her out for being predictable so she she changed it to Queen Banana last minute, because I think she had already made her costume. It is one that’s confusing if you haven’t seen the episode.
Yes! Was looking for someone to comment this, if you’ve seen the episode the banana spin is totally explained. It is seemingly random because of this ^ reason.
Forever mad that they ditched chloe redemption. But by this point she is a total b!tch and Zoe is an angel and doesnt deserve any of the abuse her family gives her (neither does Sabrina)
@@raemystic8854 I mean, it also has to do with the fact that they probably make recurring characters easier to draw and color since it costs money and time for each of them which is the reason why Marinette has short pigtails and retains that hairstyle while transformed since they don't need to add that much hair physics to it.
@@libertylibertylibertyliber1520 in one episode they talk about having had to fight him multiple times, and the episode focuses on the last one. So there’s two episodes about him (I haven’t seen season 4 though)
It's wild and not much has changed. Like someone could figure out the secret identities and then in the next episode, act like nothing happened. It's aggravating
@@libertylibertylibertyliber1520 the second episode he was the main villain in is named "mr. pigeon 72" and in the episode they mention that it's the 72nd time he have been akumatized
Something that always bothered me is that Marinette, the person who actively wants to be a fashion designer, had a costume that's LITERALLY just red spandex with black polka dots.
@@thefauxfox3577 maybe that means Marinette is bad at super hero costume design. Or that she wanted to wear spandex, maybe she likes spandex..... omg what if she likes spandex
Maybe if she showed up to crime fight looking significantly more fashionable that might narrow down who it could be. Or maybe a spandex suit is just more practical for the job. Idk, I don't watch the show
I think the video Julia is referring to is “why the music in cats (2019) is worse than you thought” by sideways, and it’s both super informative and hilarious
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-i3aK-EK5V2k.html here's the link if anyone's interested! another drawfee crossover i never thought i'd see
The gang stopping suddenly to simp for Adrien without knowing anything about him is shockingly on brand for ML, 10/10 for accidentally nailing that aspect of the show
To be fair, Mr. Pigeon is like one of the first akumatised villains, and there is no long-term resolution to the problem he is angry about so he has a lot of time to be re-akumatised over the same issue of pigeon persecution. (never thought I'd ever say that)
Jacob is correct. However he forgot that the only animation director who can be perceived physically is Hayao Miyazaki - all others are nebulous clouds of creativity.
It is because Hayao Miyazaki learned to manifest himself into physical space, in which he then proceeded to look at himself, proclaim "human bodies were a mistake", and continue on his day
dude, y'all opened the floodgates on Miraculous Ladybug themed episodes. Now I want to see Karina act as the Guardian and assign herself and the rest of the Drawfee crew Miraculouses, and see what they come up with. Or the Drawfee crew making Akuma designs for each other. Or the Drawfee crew drawing Miraculous holders they've never seen.
"If this man were to share a French film with a pigeon, the pigeon would be like 'this is crap'-- I'm sorry; 'zees ees cráppe'" I literally threw my head back laughing at this I love Julia so much
@@cuckoobrain7999 they were talking about Widowmaker from overwatch saying she was French and Karina said “I thought you were talking about Black Widow, I thought she was Asian” as reference to Scarlett Johansson having a bit of drama from playing an Asian character in a movie
Disappointed that nobody has commented that Mister Pigeon's logo is the pigeon who should not be allowed to drive the bus. Nathan is awesome and should be very proud of this inclusion.
@@soyswauce It's sort of not even a Marvel joke? So, Black Widow in the MCU is played by Scarlett Johansson, who also played the lead in the live action film adaptation "Ghost In the Shell". She, a white woman, played a character that by all accounts should be Japanese, and that's what the joke came from.
The whole episode is pure gold, but Jacob's "Have you *seen* pigeons? They're hot!" made me put my head down on my desk and cry-laugh for a solid minute.
I think that's the best thing about Drawfee, everyone is allowed to enjoy things unironically and usually everyone else ends up appreciating it as well.
Karina considering for a second that she could explain the Queen Bee wasp design connection and then just deciding it was better not to, and then deciding to was so funny
I'll never get over the fact that the American translation re-named the villain 'Hawk moth', like "We can't have him be named Butterfly! Hawk moth is much cooler and manly"
@@DivaQuinzel while Papillion sounds cool, I was gonna say the literal meaning is a little uninspired, at least hawk moth is a species of butterfly (im pretty sure). But than again, papillon sounds cool, and also the main character also doesn't have a particularly cool moniker, its just ladybug, not like a type of lady bug or madame lady bug its literally just lady bug, so it makes sense.
@@nicholaskarras2759 naw hawkmoths are a pretty cool species group of moths, some of which are some of the biggest species alive today aside from the record holders, stuff like the atlas and luna moths. Technically though... Moths have existed way longer then butterflies so they're like... Great grandpa level compared to butterflies, which I find kinda funny though I know almost nothing about the show. Maybe they changed it to Hawk Moth because they didn't know either, or it could be because they thought butterflies were too likeable... Though I must say, I think I prefer a male villain called Butterfly, at least that's somewhat unexpected as both a male and villain character
funny enough the trope of "i will abuse my power for genetics modification to turn people into useless things" is shockingly common in Marvel Comics. "i dont WANT to cure cancer, i want to turn people into DINOSAURS"
There is a legit reason for it in the show. He wants the supervillains he creates to take Ladybug and Cat Noirs miraculous, which give them their superpowers. Spoilers below (for season 2 I think): -If you have those two specific miraculous, you can make one reality altering wish. His wife is in a coma and he wants to bring her back.-
I love that canonically, Mr. Pidegeon either loses interest in pidgeons and starts with a rat fetish, or a completely different citizen of Paris gains a similar obsession like Mr. Pidgeon, but focussed on rats.
I had a strong feeling Karina would be the one here that knew Ladybug, being basically Supernatural levels of contentious fandom and tumblr energy. So glad I was correct on this read and this was a great episode to boot!
As a Gen z, pigeon guy is right and incredibly based. They were our PETS, our FRIENDS, and we ABANDONED THEM. Can you imagine doing that to dogs and then calling them stupid vermin? ABSOLUTELY NOT. I stay angry abt pigeons. While I'm here: Drawfee draws Dark Souls bosses as pigeons
@@emmakara8907 No no, it's seagulls that are rats with wings. Demon rats with balls of steel (seriously, they'll steal food right out your hands) but rats nonetheless
What makes you think the above commenters share your opinion on rats or agrees with their arbitrary classification and reputation? My money would be that they don't.
I was SO SURE Julia was gonna get Evillustrator, I imagine she would have made him such a dark - moody - compositional... well, illustration! But what they did was amazing, and I had so much fun watching this, as a person who has a love-hate-ignore relationship with the show xD Would love to see more of MLB Drawfee stuff, there's so much more content in there to use!
I think it's hilarious that his name was EVILlustrator, considering he was by far one of, if not THE least evil villain in the entire show. My boy Nathaniel just wanted to shower Marinette in gifts the whole time 😭
"Adrien is the only thing keeping me sane in this world" is an accurate description of me, when I still watched MLB back in high school. Nathan's Mr Pigeon, I wish he was what we saw irl in the show, maybe is he was always that buff, people would take his Pigeon inclusion ideas seriously bc they are scared of him
I mean... Y'all are gonna do an episode of your OC Miraculous villains now, right? I mean, I feel the world needs Body Boy, Toe Stubs, and Mistress Head Bonk.
40:04 The Mime, though not particularly cleverly named, is one of my favorite villains from this show. Whatever he mimes becomes real BUT remains invisible, so Ladybug has to infer his attacks based on his motions. Even if the name wasn't creative, I thought that aspect was.
Pigella's drafts looked way better than her final costume imo. Rena Furtive's costume infuriates me for the sole reason that it does literally nothing to camouflage her (srsly you're in Paris, not a jungle 😂), plus she's got an illusion miraculous so she can literally have a chameleon morph suit that automatically blends her in like Blendin Blandin, and while Mister Bug's costume is a better take on a ladybug than Ladybug's costume, it still isn't too great. TLDR yeah I wanna see this too
Haven’t finished but I hope Karina explains the way that people have to watch miraculous episodes and if she doesn’t that she will in the future bc I love watching people go like “what do you MEAN it airs out of order in different languages”
@@shotguntornado It's so annoying, most of the episodes it doesn't matter, but the episodes where it DOES matter are inevitably in the wrong order. Like how Party Crasher is on Netflix BEFORE the episodes where we're introduced to Pegasus and Viperion. And the episode where we meet Qilin hasn't aired at all yet but she's a returning villain in Dearest Family so it's like wtf is happening.
@@FrenkTheJoy YES not to mention plusplus nearly airing the finale before a few other episodes in season 4 and then going “lmao nvm” and airing lies 💀 like it’s so funny. All this for what
@@FrenkTheJoy Are they in order on Disney+? I think they are. But I did notice that on Netflix, and didn't understand why? Is it by production code instead of intended narrative order?
I don’t know why “Donk” made me think of a dark, gritty movie version of Donkey Kong. But now I want dark, gritty movie posters for things that should never get a dark, gritty reboot treatment. (Looking at you, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air)
Funny thing about Simpleman, Hawkmoth had a couple of other names for him but the guy he was turning rejected them for being too complex so he just settled on Simpleman
Since I haven't seen any comment trying to explain Queen Banana's explanation, I'll do it. All through the start of the episode, Chloe (the girl akumatized into Queen Banana) is seen eating bananas for no apparent reason. In the film her class is preparing, her half sister is Zoe supposed to have the lead role but Chloe gets pissed because she hates Zoe, and convinces the director (called Bob Roth lmao) to make her the lead instead. Chloe, being the spoiled child she is, basically changes the whole script, transforming her superhero role into Queen Banana (there is no additional explanation than she thinks it's cooler, she's never associated with bananas outside of this episode) with the car and the giant yellow gorilla that throws explosive bananas. When told that the gorilla will be a prop and not a real yellow gorilla, she throws a tanthrum. All her classmates, being tired of her because she's always overly demanding like this, decide to film the original movie without her knowing (in one day), so when Chloe comes to the set (a park) the next day and sees there's no one, then finds the class watching the completed film, she gets akumatized because she's just so angry. The akuma (demon butterfly) goes into her banana pin as well. It's a really wild episode from season 4, and as someone who initially liked the show, I will say that the first two seasons are quite good and then it devolves into pure chaos, little to no plot advancements (I swear there is one, yes), and really stupid scenarios (which is the reason Chloe is suddenly really into bananas for exactly one episode). Also, the gorilla's name is Banana Boom-Boom.
I feel like you skipped over the Queen bee form she previously had..and the exchange when chloe is trying to insert herself into the play and change stuff "You're not talking about you as Queen Bee? 'Cause most of the time you were a super-disaster more than a superhero." "Uh, actually, I wasn't even thinking of Queen Bee. I was thinking of a much more original character: Queen... uh... Queen Banana!" Which definitely makes it sound more...spur of the moment.
@@FFKonoko right! I completely forgot about that part, I was basing myself on the plot summary on the wiki Still does not explain why Chloe is obsessed with bananas in this episode, writers, explain
This episode convinced me to give Miraculous Ladybug a try. Imagine being a grown-ass man harassing children for accessories through the art of magical girl combat. That's what this show is about and I love it.
The weird love two-lane-street between is also stupid in a very correct way. Spoiler ˯Spoiler˯ I can’t believe they pretty much canonized that this funny ha-ha misunderstanding is vital to the fabric of the universe. Like, if they both realize the other’s identity & that they’re in love the world ends. Wild shit.
@@TorrentialStardust I also don’t watch the show but what I do know is 1. It’s still airing so no closure yet and 2. the disguises have some “magic” that distorts their faces so it’s not as obvious as it looks apparently
@@TorrentialStardust (Spoilers) Not an avid watcher myself, but I did catch one ep where they did resolve the love square. Doing so resulted in the destruction of the entire earth, & they had to travel through time to reinstate the square.
You guys should do a speed draw of yourselves as the four horseman of the adrawcalypse. With each one of you representing a defining factor that makes drawfee drawfee. Julia - horseman of misdirection, Nathan - horseman of mispeaking, Karina - horseman of razzing, and Jacob - horseman of hard(or dumb) stances
Oh, oh man. They _definitely_ need to do more of this. There's SO MANY they could work with! Bubbler! Reflekta! Animan! (was kinda hoping for an Anima/Animaestro confusing thing). Heck, Papa Pain would be GREAT.
@@_____________a_a Oh darnit. I was thinking of Weredad. "Papa Pain" was the title of a similarly themed fanfic- it's a bilingual pun. "Pain" is French for 'bread', and with Marinette's father being a baker (his last name is Dupain, even). So when he's Akumatized in the story. Honestly, better than the official one, I think.
I love how sweet Adrien is even with such a neglectful father, the ability to buy whatever he wants, growing up with Chloe as a friend, and such...like he has so many reasons to be a jerk, but he's just so wholesome.
Now that we've opened the pigeon gates I humbly request some sort of Hatoful boyfriend themed episode. Either some describes the birds routes and the others draw what they think he looks like OR they draw their own Bird Love Interest OCs
Sort of gross fun fact: healthy pigeon droppings should actually be slightly firm and similar in appearance to marbles, not the streaky white splat you get on your car! Pigeons do deserve better tbh Mr. Pigeon is justified
i love karina led episodes. its just her talking about her fixations in a way that assumes everyone knows what she's talking about and i love it because i do the same thing. anyways give me a digimon ghost game episode, have them draw the horrific ways a digimon could reek havoc in japan.
Fun fact: mr. Pigeon’s design actually predates the show as it exists now. An early concept now called miraculous pv shows him and the mime looking almost identical to how they look in the series, barring the fact that the pv is 2d animated rather than cg. He even predates one of the main characters (adrien) who was originally a much different character called Felix!
I totally forgot about the Thomas Astruc episode! And as I remember, when Chloe got in a fight with her sister, there was a banana present, and it was latched onto simply because it was conveniently placed. I love how bonkers this show is. I hope Nathan, Jacob, and Julia watch it. Edit: watch it EVENTUALLY. We need more of these episodes first.
Here's an idea. Draw Winx Club characters (That you've never seen before) Karina can host that one. Not really sure if she's seen the show, but she seems like the type.
Speaking as someone who lives in Paris, I can say that the pigeons here do not need a superhero to rep for them. The only thing scarier than a Parisian pigeon is a Parisian rat.
That's funny because Mr Pigeon starts to distance himself from pigeons and becomes even more in love with rats. In the future he canonically becomes Monsieur Rat (I believe) where he basically is Mr Pigeon but for rats
I like how, in Nathan's drawing, the hand holding the pigeon-whistle looks like a lil sock puppet bird. My head-canon is that the sock puppet is the true mastermind behind the whole thing.
a person i knew in high school was obsessed with Miraculous. only now, after hearing the words "pigeon planes" being uttered, i know what made her like the show so much!
No no. Remove those quotes. I'm 33 and yes, it's a kids show with silly villains and a repetitive formula, but I don't lie to myself: I unironically enjoy the show and I'm invested in what happens to the characters. No shame in my game.
I'm 26 and I love this show so much that I have reminders for the international release dates on my calendar I watch them in french or Portuguese and just try to guess what they're saying I think I have a problem
My favorite thing about Adrien is his constant acknowledgement of his love for Marinette as more than a friend. Hes super aware of his feelings and doesn't frustrate the audience by being oblivious 😌
If they ever make a second episode of this, some Akumas with interesting names are: Evillustrator Captain Hardrock Gorizilla Princess Fragrance Weredad Zombizou
I like how most of the design elements of Nathan's drawing are fairly realistic and serious-looking, but then also he just has a flawless Mo Willems cartoon pigeon as his costume logo
I would watch an entire video of the drawfee gang learning how absolutely insane this show is, from production, to weird characters, to BS plot, to the love square, goddamn. Pure insanity
Can we get more Drawfee trying to draw Miraculous Ladybug characters? Maybe have them try to draw some of the heroes! I'd like to see what else you all can do! (Edit: fixed a misspelling)
the thing about miraculous ladybug is that everyone who is a fan of the show KNOWS its terrible but were all kind of stuck obsessing over it because the first season was actually pretty good but now we are a captive audience as the show slowly devolves into garbage. But we acknowledge the fact that its terrible all the time so we are never too betrayed or surprised when the show disappoints us at this point. lol we all love the show but also hate it at the exact same time.
Nathan making his character's emblem a small portrait of Mo Willem's Pigeon character was my favorite part of this video. I know it's small, I know it's silly, but it's appreciated to no end.
To make Mr. Pigeon even better, there have been studies that have successfully taught pigeons how to distinguish between “good” and “bad” art! They have the ability to participate in culture and the arts!
A Miraculous episode??? Ohhhhh! My bro is obsessed with that show, but I've never watched a single episode. And we have a new addition to Jacob's hot takes about animals: "Pigeons are so stupid!"
Karina really out here representing all of my small fan base interests. Jollibee, Digimon, Yugioh. NEOPETS? MLB? Amazing. Part of me wonders if its just how FilAm are, but I'm living either way. Thanks to her for being an awesome person with awesome taste
I sincerely appreciate the Mo Willems style pigeon head in Nathan's drawing, as well as Julia's dual crown of Egypt going on in Banana Queen. This show contains multitudes and I love it.
my little brother is a huge miraculous fan, so, by osmosis, i know everything about it, so this episode was a good surprise!!! it was his first time watching drawfee! he doesnt understand english but still had a nice time watching yall draw!!!
I love how people experience things differently cause Julia said she never heard of this show before and I’m amazed on how she was able to escape seeing this everywhere cause I feel like ladybug infested every place I go in the internet
That's the magic of algos and social bubbles. The internet does a lot of traffic-directing that we don't notice so everyone thinks the stuff they stumble across is what everybody stumbles across but it's not. It's somewhat curated for you based on your searches, history, etc.
