Arts & Crafts of Oaxaca, Mexico 

In the Zapotec Culture there is long traditions in Pottery and Textiles. In the past few years, these industries have been reoriented to meet the demands of the tourists. Pottery is now decorative as opposed to utilitarian cookware.
Textiles are less garments and more rugs, wall hangings, bags and belts.
Alebrijes, the carved fantastical animals painted in vibrant colors and complex patterns are the leading souvenir. In this video we'll visit some workshops and look at how pottery, textiles and alebrijes are made.
