This video was just what I was looking for. Simple, straightforward and got straight to answering the questions I had about the new mk3. Thanks Patrick 👍🏻
I’m definitely a sucker for a lil’ display lol and the transport controls definitely add a good amount of utility. This is my first time landing on your channel, great stuff, thank you!! Subbed and liked!
I like the clarity of your demonstration. Finding this video a year after you made it, I still benefit, because I am a beginner with this type of instrument, and I get to audibly test drive it's capability. Thank you.
Thanks. I was on the fence between the mini lab 2 and 3 and your video showed me exactly everything I was wondering about the differences. I currently have an akai mpk mini MK2 but after watching many RU-vid videos I want to add one of these to my stable. Thank you so much and keep up the great content!!!
Ho Patrick I've only been looking at the Arturia Mk3 recently. Been using synths since the 1980's and I'll tell you. If today's tech was available then, I think manufacturers would have had to had a rethink re Hardware synths. I'm incredibly excited at the prospect of getting an Arturia. Run everything from a DAW. No unnecessary seriously heavy and space taking equipment like back in the day. Thanks for your in depth review of both the mk2 and 3 it really helps
Nice comparison Patrick. I have a MkII and will not be upgrading right away, but I also have a keystep with midi out. Another great product from Arturia 👍
Always liked the look of the MiniLab MkII. Thanks for an informative - and concise - summary of the MK III's features and the differences between the two models. Nice one.
Thank you for letting us know about that! This is a good reason for me NOT to upgrade, as I bought the MK2 to also have it as a portable thing, so the metal base is much more durable and the MK2 good enough for me anyway. If I want the extra features that the MK3 offers I can just buy more expensive piece of equipment later. But they BOTH rock, especially at those price points!
You’ve got a new subscriber! I like your contents a lot. Learnt a lot about songwriting, sounds, tips and tricks. Keep ‘em coming! Minilab 3 is amazing, fit in a backpack just nice. Wish I can afford it, instruments are so expensive around here
Thanks for pointing out the major differences. Love the new display and the faders on the MK3! Not sure if its worth upgrading yet, so will check out your demo review.
Thanks for the video!!. I am a pastor and i love to play and record songs.. I am fishing through the internet for a budget friendly midi keyboard and i found this video quite resourceful. I wanna go with minilab 3.😊
Love the video, really helpful info so thnx. I’m just getting into producing and making my own music, so the mini lab 3 would be really awesome. Keep up the vids🔥
Recently i’ve just started to get the equipment i need to record and produce music. I’m 18 and my dream job is to be a musician and inspire others. So thanks for the review! I was caught up with whether i should get the new one or the old one. For sure gonna get the new one when i can afford!
So many new features with the Minilab 3, it’s a no-brainer to get one. I’m just waiting for them to release on with inverted keys (white sharps and black naturals) so it will match my Mk2! However, if I win the Mk3 you are giving away………no problem!
I know that I'm probably late for giveaway but its always worth to try. My short opinion: mkii is better cause more knobs is more tweaking in Analog Lab ;-). By the way I'm a guitarist so I love knobs.
Damnit. Just a few months ago I paid $120 for the mk2 on Amazon, and now they sell for $79 and for $120 I could have the mk3. The browser and the appregiator alone make this an awesome upgrade. The midi out is pretty nice too. Actually that’s about it really, I guess the sliders are neat.
I was just looking for something about arturia mk2 and did not expect that there is already a mk3 version! I want to start my adventure with making music, and I'm thinking about Arturia's products. thanks for the video! peace!
Wow Sir Patrick, what a great review! Thank you for putting everything into detail. Will check on the rest of your videos as well. Please keep posting videos. Know that a lot enjoy them. But if ever Sir, what is your piece of advice for certain people who are torn between buying Minilab 3 or Minilab mkii? Again, thanks!
My brother just got me the MK2 for my birthday, it's my first midi controller I'm pretty stoked to mess with it. Build quality feels really nice and I think he got it on sale since the mk3 is out now.
Loved the video. Like always though, my problem with Arturia and their keyboards will always remain, because they NEVER put their faders to the left. But at least it has faders now so YAY! That along with the transport controls is absolutely making this a buy-ASAP product for me.
love the way new minilab looks, introduction of new midi ( i hope its % point MIDI , IS IT ?) will be very handy and yes the faders, that can be so useful in live situations. Good work as usual Patrick as there aren't any other videos comparing the two versions precisely. your previous video comparing all the versions of Arturia controllers from Micro to MK2 series is gold as I was confused between essential and MK2 and that video just nailed it.
Great review! Thank you! For me controlling virtual instruments / synths (like Vital, Helm, etc) is the most important, I actually bought midi controllers just for that, not really to control any DAW, so that fact that there is even less knobs in the Minilab3 that in the Minilab MkII I think is a shame. But in the other hand, been able to control hardware synths with this one is a big plus. I will have to think if it worth the upgrade from the Minilab Mkii. Best!
Hey thanks for the review - first time here and now I will start to look around. Great review of the Minilab 3 vs mk2, but still I can't decide which one. BUT if the give-away-arrow stop here I do not need to.....I guess 😁
I'm also having a tough time deciding between them. I'm pretty much entry level into making electronic music. The price for the Mk2 is amazing and it has the inverted color (which I'd choose). Idk anything about the faders so I wouldn't know if I'd want them as someone just coming into music making. Arturia also has a promotion for getting the 3 best-selling Arturia plugins for free if you buy a MkII (or there's at least a web page for it, I'm confirming with them if it's still applicable or not). So maybe it's worth it to get some good plugins? It's not like it'd be worse quality just because it's an older model. I think it does have a shorter warranty than the minilab 3 though, but I could always sell the 2 and get the 3 later... So conflicted lol
