I combined the two badass clips of Arya Stark killing Walder Frey and all his men in Game of Thrones season 6, ep 10 and season 7, ep 01 opening, simply because I wanted to watch them together. Enjoy! I do not own any copyrights.
@@aryarahayuna7651 Wolves are more likely to hunt sheep, geologically speaking. And it's very accurate with the period. I feel like given the regions lions might be more likely to hunt... Maybe goats? Even then I don't think they're big enough.
Well, yeah. Villians care about their ego, and monologue before actually succeeding because it makes them feel important. Arya Stark cared about her mission and avenging/protecting her family, so she only gave a speech once it would enhance her presentation without risking giving it away.
@Deserve Not Desire If someone tells me not to drink in that way I'll probably think that person hates me for some reason. In this case, irrationaly, for being a woman, . So it's call misogyny
In the books, people feared the northerners because they were the most ruthless and wild. And in the north, Ned was probably the calmest northerner. He was calm, civil, orderly, and honorable. But ned often worried that Arya was possessed by the wildness. And here, we see what he meant. Arya is the north. Unfortunately, Robb was too much a Tully, and Sansa had to learn through pain how to be a northerner. Arya was always like this. Vicious, cunning, savage, and wild.
"wild" in the sense of unable to think calmly and clearly that could jeopardize survival for the group. You can see the wildness in the Wildlings in general. All the northern lords think wisely except they have a bad habit of thinking other people will keep their word which was ultimately Ned's and Robb's downfall.
This is why Arya was my favorite character. So badass. I particularly love how she made sure that the young servant girl did not drink the wine. She saved those girls.
That was his young wife, not servant girl. A servant would not be sitting and/or rising next to him. He was a pig, as explained many times throughout the series.
As much as I would love to think she wanted to save that girl, I'm sure it was to pass along the message. As the old saying goes, "Dead men tell no tales."
@@Jack-fe7rv Surely it was both. Killing an innocent girl (who was being raped regularly as well, I'm sure) would make Arya a proper villian, not anyone to cheer. She could have chosen the servant girl who was passing out the wine (and who we saw at the end of the scene) to tell the tale.
@@asymbolofpurehatred The irony of calling someone cringelord. A stolen comment is a stolen comment. What's pettier than stealing a comment? Calling out the person who called out the thief.
@@magatrone100 Ah, the cringe of calling out someone for stealing comments. As if two people can't think the same exact thing. Also, humankind barely does anything original.
Its Just Sad as f* that people will let pass this fake shit mask and Voice cover up.. wtf dude, It kills the plot for me because you know its made Just to give an easy and fast plot. The show without these miraculous masks and voice matchers would be such nicer, It looks like they had to rush the script and these miraculous mask plots just to get in time for something. This family deserved such a plot of revenge, but instead.. Fucking mask that makes a 4' girl looks and talks like a 80yo Man.. Dude, come on, we deserved such more on this Frey plot..
Arya is the most sadistic person in the show. Does anything because of revenge. While Jon forgvies enemies. Jon knows that there is more important things than revenge now.
Richard Totallynotafakename Lmao right, talkin' bout sum "more important things" this man KILLED her mother and brother with no sympathy. Fuck all that.
It's interesting that before revealing herself, Arya said "My lord" instead of "m'lord", as Tywin had warned her before. Had Walder been a more vigilant man, he'd notice it as Tywin did, and it's also a quick nod to the audience the real identity of the servant.
because she was never meant to kill the night king, it wasn't her true ark ; BUT dumb & dumber are gonna be dumb & dumber , aren't your expectations subeverted ? lmao
@@EmaNarutoIchigo they said it themselves, they chose arya to subevert our expectations, so all the damn forshadowing and the build-up Martin gave us had no purpose.
@@balhaddadinn Don't remember the exact episode but in season 1, one of the blood riders of Daenerys comes back beheaded and his wife cries that now he won't be able to ride in the after life because they didn't burn his body. And in another episode the high sparrow explains that the reason they put stones with eyes painted on them is to symboize that the person closes his eyes in this world and reopens them in in the next one. That proves that they believe in the after life... There's no proof that there is infact an after life as in real life...
@@user-kp2fc7op8p I mean, those are just stories, dogmas and assumptions. There is proof there is NO afterlife in GoT, though - both Jon Snow and Beric Dondarrion have reported that there was nothing on the other side. The way they report it indicates they had memories of whatever the other side was - it was nothing, not even life. This is also a proof of the existence of something akin to a soul in GoT. It's just there's no afterlife, only conscious void.
I was thinking this was a flashback before the Red Wedding, then I thought it was a flashback shortly after it…or maybe just a late celebration. Then when Walder said “brave men. Butchering a pregnant woman and her baby. Slaughtering guests after inviting them into your house…” and the realization set in. A huge grin crept onto my face once I realized what was really going on.
That "yes... yes... cheer" was so chilling, like you just knew something was coming after that level of sarcasm from a man like Walder. She broke character in that moment.
David and Maisie were so amazing in these scenes. His tiny moments and hints that he's not actually Frey, but Arya in disguise. And the look on Arya's face as she's holding his head back, right after slitting his throat...absolutely haunting. One of my all time favorite scenes from this show, and definitely one of the most satisfying.
The details in yhese two scenes are amazing. When she kills Walder she never said "milord" as Tywin pointed out for her, but "my lord" she even says "MY lord" at one point. And when she kills everybody else, she didnt let the new wife drink yhe wine, as she wasnt even married to Walder at the moment of the Red Wedding, and she let every single one of his family members believe they were killed by Walder himself.
@@cerulean5299 Nah. I'm fine with her dying in the hands of her lover. My problem is that it wasn't Jaime that killed her. If she died because Jaime killed her and Jaime holds her in his arms as she bleeds out and dies I'd have been fine.
frey for sure... i almost forgot she killed him, so when he/she said: "butchered a woman pregnant of a baby" i started giggling too... which i normally dont do when i hear a line about killing a pregnant woman. + the joffrey scene immediatly came with my fav character being scrutinized by his own family, which i hated.
Whenever I am feeling let down, I come to see this clip. It always makes me feel relieved. "Tell them the north remembers" is one of the greatest lines in this series.
Arya feeds a man his children, slits his throat, then single handedly murders an entire bloodline in one fell swoop and nobody bats an eye Show 30 seconds of her getting it on with Gendry topless and everyone loses their mind
As powerful as the line by Ramsay Bolton to THeon:” If you think this story will have a happy endng, then you haven’t been paying attention”. What a meta text
I like to say something similar to my enemy after they pay for what they did to me after 15-20 years, "A Sicilian never forget" that's why Arya is my favourite
"the last thing, you´re ever going to see, is a stark smiling down at you, as you die." always loved that line! walder frey belived, he had the backup! but he was to arrogant or dumb, to think out of the box! and how maisie williams delivered this line! amazing!
She killed the night king, killed Little Finger. She probably could have assassinated Cersei. Don’t know why “genius” tactician Sansa didn’t think to use her sisters skill and limit collateral damage
@@ladymire only Sansa knew of Aryas assassin background. But she committed men of the north to go down to Kings landing as well. If she were truly thinking she’d have sent Arya in secretly to start picking apart their leaders and cause chaos
@@omelett9 Since you're apparently unfamiliar with the show, the reason that Arya didn't bother to slaughter any of the Frey women is because none of the Frey women had the loyalty to the Frey name that Catelyn, Sansa, and Arya had to the Stark name. Walder's wives were chosen mostly as political maneuvers, most of them were barely a third of his age, and were to him very expendable (remember the one that Catelyn tries to use as a hostage during the Red Wedding). They had no real love for him or for the Frey name, and would have had no interest in avenging the Freys after Arya slaughtered the male side of the house. None of his daughters (trueborn or bastard) had the mind for the game, as most had been married off or were not interested in politics. Furthermore, none of them were directly involved in the events of the Red Wedding, whereas virtually all of the Frey males gathered in this scene were. And given that Arya found out about the Frey-Lannister plot that let to the massacre of the Starks, she would have known if any Frey women had been involved and probably would have killed them too.
"It wasn't for murder the gods cursed the Rat Cook, or for serving the King's son in a pie... he killed a guest beneath his roof... that's something the gods can't forgive."
We're fully in _Cool TV Moment_ mode now - messed up logistics - one liners - no psychological baggage, just satisfying badassery - no further repercussions in the wider world
This is a great scene, at first we think this is a flashback because we know that Walder Frey is dead. The way the scene plays out is excellent. "When people ask what happened here, tell them the North remembers...tell them that winter came for House Frey." Chills every time. Total badass moment.
2:33 I love the detail of Arya using her right hand the cup here; because in the earlier scene, Walder Frey is holding it in his left hand. It goes to show how unobservant the Freys are since they might not all be dead if they had either noticed Arya at the Red Wedding or that ‘Walder’ is holding the cup in the wrong hand during the feast.
Yeah I hold stuff with my non-dominant hand sometimes, especially if I’m giving a speech and gesturing with one hand? I don’t think it would be that deep even if someone had noticed
David Bradley does a terrific job at portraying Arya portraying his character. The glint in his eyes as he watches them die always gives me chills, he really nailed Arya‘s expression. Brilliant actor, imo his wonderful performance making this scene so utterly satisfying isn’t spoken about enough. Top that with Maisie delivering her badass line and you have one of the best scenes from the show.
Yes! David Bradley deserves a LOT of credit for that scene. He plays Walder, BUT with just a few very subtle differences that make you think something might be amiss, then when Arya reveals herself, it all comes together and makes perfect sense. It was brilliantly done.
As much as I like the first scene of Arya killing Walder Frey, I think the impact of the second scene would have hit harder as a suprise reveal that it's Arya as Walder.
One of the best scenes in the show and totally consistent with her character. The Faceless Men concept devolved from elegantly morphing into people to some crappy rubber mask moment, but the scene is still great. It would have worked a lot better for the reveal if we hadn't already seen her kill Walder the previous season. I think that would have been better as a deleted scene of a flashback.
True. They could have showed the flashback of killing Walder after poisoned his family. Basically how she pulled off stealing his identity. While this scene was still good, it lost its element of surprise by showing his killing beforehand.
No if you read the comics then you would know she turns mentally ill towards the end of her story arc and becomes like phoenix from xmen, too strong and unable to control her powers.
@@AStarInAndromeda lol sorry I replied to the wrong comment. I thought the original comment was referring to Scarlet Witch in xmen. Either way Arya in GOT is an avenger too.
You can really hear Arya's voice in Walder's, especially in the line "cut the throat of a mother of five.." when there's that slight lilt to show the shift in tone, it's really well done, props to the actors
Also, it’s great how she didn’t reveal herself to those that drank the poison, so that the Freys die feeling betrayed and confused just like the Starks did.
ive came here again after many months and still wondering wtf will happen to riverrun and Frey's gate? who will held those fortresses? obviously the writer forget to manage Tully's story lol. but well i do hope freys gate fall to one of the north's houses.i mean it's like it's the gate to north or south right? so lets manned it with north to avoid south influences become huge again on the northerns
I still remember Tyrion talking to Bronn "Whatever they pay you I double it" and Bronn answering ''Your brother owns me a fuckin castle. Where you going to find two empty castles i can rule at the same time" I hope Bronn's going to join Deanerys and get Twins as a reward :D
Walders fate is foreshadowed in the episode after the red wedding. Bran talks about the rat king who is forced to eat his own children after killing guests under his roof (and serving them to their father in the form of pie). After bran finishes the story it cuts to Walders face as well
I just realized, after watching this scene over and over: when Ayra was walking out and looking out over the carnage, _she was checking to make sure she'd killed them all._
Loved the second scene, but what I think was wrong in the writing was showing the first scene where Arya kills Walder Frey, because from that moment the surprise effect was not as present when she kills everyons of the Freys, we were kind of waiting for it. Except that I loved this part and the "tell them that winter came for house frey"
Tbh araya Inbodied the starks in way that not even her father or brothers could, she really represented the more darker and maniacal side of the starks that I feel many people forget at that point
Ned was raised in the Vale for his teenage years and fell in love with the Arryn ideal of chivalry. If you want to see what the Starks acted like before Ned, look up guys like Cregan, the Hungry Wolf, or Ice-Eyes.
"Leave One Wolf alive, and the sheep are never safe." -Arya Stark. "A Lion doesn't concern himself with the opinions of the sheep." -Tywin Lannister. The Starks and The Lannisters have been at each other's throats for centuries, one thing they have in common. they both hate sheep.
Wait did you say for centuries? To my knowledge, they didnt really have any issues with each other until this show started. They never really liked each other, but they werent going to war with each other until Bran peeked into the wrong window
5:02 Cheering for "Walder Frey" (even when you know he's actually Arya) feels so... off. This is a character that nobody likes and is basically a pure capital-V Villain. For "his" last scene to use his obvious disdain and disregard for human life in a *positive* way is just so oddly fulfilling. It's like - oh good, the jerk nobody likes is now punishing my *enemies* instead of me. It's a fantastic scene for David Bradley; you get the sense that he's been looking to this for the entire series, and it must've been so amazing to film. Great scenes

No character in any work of fiction got a better taste of revenge like Arya did in this moment, and what she said to that young girl before she walked off, one of the coldest lines ever... "When people ask you what happened here, tell them the north remembers. Tell them Winter came for House Frey."
