@@Bobby_Uteruswhen the parts were available, you could have a stash of pawls and springs and just replace them every year or two. Axles surprisingly held up and you could fit one from a hoffman generator, demolition or most of stock generic hubs from a joytech factory if you bent/snapped yours. Now that’s every hub is just slightly different you can’t service things anymore and once something starts failing they don’t make the parts for it anymore because v2/3/4 has a slightly different spacing on the axle or differently shaped pawls etc. That renders your slightly faulty hub useless. The only exemption from that is profile, you can buy replacement bits for all their hubs but they do break the bank to begin with and at that price point you shouldn’t even have to think about buying replacement parts. £80 for a rear axle is a bit excessive.
Shad, do you have any influence on this set up? It’s pretty nice to see big gears back. Currently, I’m building a 45-16 set up, as the old days. Hopping to ride it this summer. Happy St Paddy☘️. Cheers!
Please do a frame with the “no school” typical geometry for us old guys. I can’t deal with these short rear ends and steep head tube angles. It’s life riding a flatland frame for everything.
