Bought the analog version on 4s. Very nice quad and well finished like all Diatones products. Just finished making a 4s li-ion 2600mah from molicel p26a cells, so going to see how that fairs. They have made a cracker with this one I think. It's super light weight for a 5" quad. I do like the Rekon 5, well thought out but, the L5 was the one for me. Loved the attention to detail with the l5, I bought the L4 too now! Keep up the good work bud :)
Just got the rekon5. The antenna still mounts next to camera. Makes takeoffs and landings a PITA. Landings cause the quad to flip (especially with air mode) and grind the spinning props in the ground.
If I use naked gopro on rekon 5 there is a problem with satellites, often in flight the number becomes less than 6. Is there a solution to the problem?
I have rekon 5 with these diatone 1700kv motors, it flies quite well with lighter batteries, up to 6s1400, but when i put 4s 21700 li ion pack, it get a lot of jello and mid throttle oscillations, can you suggest where should i move the tune? Also for the antenna mount, now with elrs it is not needed :) just today i flew 10km out on rekon 5 with elrs 2.4 at 150hz and 100mw, zero issues, 99lq all the way, quite possibly i could fly there with 50mw. So I don't think crossfire is ever need on quads anymore ;) and 2.4 antenna is just tiny
I am interested in both of these models. I have read that the Roma L5 will fit the DJI AirUnit (original). Can the Rekon 5 fit the DJI AirUnit? That would likely tip my choice to the Rekon 5 as I have an unused DJI AirUnit (and camera) and don't want to have to buy a DJI Vista. Thanks!
Hey Dave. I'm considering putting all my rekon 5 parts on a diatone frame. I'm getting really bad frame resonance and oscillations with my rekon 5 and have since I got it fresh out of the box. It's fun to fly but it ruins pretty much every long range cinematic video I try to make with it due to the nasty oscillations
Thank you for this video cuz I was looking at the L5 and the Recon, I do wish my image look as good as it does in this video with my air unit,at 50 mbps..dji camera, grass and the trees dont look as sharp as yours.
Not impossible to find without buzzer. I dropped Explorer 4" (no buzzer at all) fell 350 feet into deep weeds about a mile out. I had the GPS coordinates up until the video went out which was about 7 feet above the ground, mapped it, followed the arrow on my phone GPS 1000 feet out from the road in a field with super high weeds everywhere and went right to it. The battery had run dead but did not come off. No buzzer needed.
i have broke all 3 of the bottom plates on the flywoo exporer lr 4in any tips on were to buy more sir pease and thank u my wife wont let me buy another so i have to fix my 3 lol i wanted the rekon 4 great builds and tips thanks dave i really appreciate all u do for us pilots thanks buddy i am from ontario canada
Gps on diatone does not work because of super noisy esc. On a normal stack, you can put grounded emi shield between esc and fc and gps work very well immediately. But it's not possible with this aio 🤦
I was going to just build an ultralight 6" and then bam u came out with a 6" .. now I think I'm order that.. I have ur explorer lr. I built ur Rekon5 (did 40+mins plus on 3000mah li-ion video on page) Now I'm trying to get the 6".
