I was a death metal elitist forever. I saw the A7X live/lbc show on youtube by chance one night.. I had immediate respect for them. A7X led to Killswitch to Trivium to this. I never gave this band a chance for so long... And now it's all new to me. Even the old stuff.
I went through the same path except for Kill Switch. I also listened to Beartooth, Architects, Parkway Drive, Bullet for My Valentine, Sylosis, Any Given Day, etc. (which are all bands I would highly recommend) before listening to this. Now all of this is new to me, and I am going to be kinda sad when I know all of it since I won’t have the same feeling with it again
I was a heavy deathcore listener for like 2 years and now i realized metalcore (melodic metalcore and metallic hardcore) overall is a much better genre, it's more thrashy which means it's less boring, on the the live it's fast and heavy enough to keep the pit going (unlike deathcore, i can't even tell how many times i seen people just standing and being ☠️ at a deathcore pit because simply the music is just awfully boring, it either goes way too fast or way too slow) can be very positive and uplifting, way more melodic and having great solos, can be great for heading to trips and traveling with like your girlfriend having love themed lyrics and beautiful and most important it can turn on the people's interest in metal in general, deathcore is just tough guy shitty chugga chugga to me at this point.

Your handle is particularly great IF you were referencing the hastening downward spiral/death plunge of the now-fully-defunct Machine Head. I personally parted ways with them LONG ago. Ever since SJW-wannabe Rob cast drummer Chris Kontos out of the band, they were never able to recapture the spark for an entire album ... only a few "keeper" songs here ^& there, but nowhere even touching Burn My Eyes. I am GLAD they fell apart at the seams and consider their FAILURE almost as disastrous as the last 24 years of Metallica. Those posers and market niche swindlers have MAYBE one song since their self-titled "black " album: Until It Sleeps. I challenge anyone to name even ONE other song following the black album that rivals their PAST greats; no one can. Eu comecei a ouvir em 2013 na época estava fascinada quando eu vi na internet sobre o White metal q é metal cristão, o AILD foi a primeira banda citada na lista, mas na época eu tinha mais preferência por rock do q por metal, só parei pra curtir mais agora esses tempos, as músicas do AILD são bem trabalhadas e possui vocais e arranjos incríveis.

I listened to their "Awakened" album many times during my stay in a hospital for 4 months, in my past. This song is one of my favorites. Music like this helps me persevere, when all I want to do is end it.

I will not stop listening to As I Lay Dying just because Tim is in jail. I'm not one to criticize anyone, he is a human and makes mistakes must pay his conviction as any other human being for what he did, I hope to resume As I Lay Dying after Tim out of jail.

I fucking hate the fact that these guys are literally one of the most talented metal bands of all time but their vocalist hired a hit man to kill his wife and millions of people came to his defense.

I honestly love the cleans. I judge music on lyrical content so if I relate to it then I love it. This song is epic and the cleans are equally awesome. The screaming is great as well.
I don't care, Tim Lambesis is still my bro. One of my all time favorite vocalists. I choose to ignore what happened because how can I possibly fathom what a famous musician with more net worth than I could ever be capable of, with kids, and a wife that wants to leave him and take his kids away from him, is going through? How can we pass judgement on this scenario when we can never truly understand both sides to the story? Because there's ALWAYS two sides to a story Ya'll. For all we know he married a psychotic metal head bitch with crazy eyes because she was a good lay (sounds like every metal chick I know) and has been trying to suck his soul out of him for the last few years. Maybe if he threatened divorce she threatened to take everything he had plus his kids. Maybe not. But what would drive a man to want to kill his fucking wife? If that's what even happened. There's speculation that this was all setup by the wife since the wife's BROTHER was the one doing the investigation. But to want to kill your wife, she had to have been a pretty fucked up woman to drive a man with so much to lose that far. I can't possibly fathom his situation. Fuck that new shitty band Wovenwar though. He doesn't need his old band back. Fuck those loyalless cunts. I hope he gets out of prison with the blackest heart, with so much hatred, that he goes straight to PYRITHION and unleashes it all in one epic album that brings death core to the forefront of metal. I agree, the saddest part about all this is that we'll probably never again see a new AILD album or see them play live when he gets out of prison. Tim bashed his fellow band members in his latest interview, saying they were just a stepping stone for his metal career and that he hasn't talked to any of them since this whole ordeal started. I'm Glad I got to see them twice before it ended though.
Herbivore 710 Tim doesn't need AILD. He pretty much was the heart of the band, and honestly I disliked the cleans in AILD. Prefer Pyrithion by a mile, just sucks all this happened right before they released a full length. Hope he can pick up where he left off when he gets out.
