Order at: www.indiemerch.com/metalblader... As I Lay Dying video "I Never Wanted" from their album "An Ocean Between Us" iTunes: itunes.apple.com/us/album/an-o...
@Bruce Wayne I think the magic word is "my" in this sentence. Maybe shit started bad, down low. Something in life changed all that and you felt the highest high ever. You kinda forgot it was an option to feel so low. Then boooooom, that low is home again.
@@JeffBlazos69 Nah I still don't get it. it doesn't make sense grammatically. I have never heard anyone say that something went back to where it came. That just doesn't make sense lol
I remember back in the day, I had just turned 16 and my dad moved me down to Arizona from Minnesota. It was probably one of the toughest times of my life, leaving somewhere I'd known my whole life. I wouldn't say I was depressed or anything, but upset about the situation to say the least. I remember a friend had put a shit load of music on my iPod before I moved and when I came down I started going through it all. The first band that really captured my attention was these guys. I believe at the time, the song was Within Destruction. I was hooked from that moment on. Nearly 10 years later, I haven't been able to find a band that even comes close to a glimpse of what this band means to me.
As I lay dying was the band that got me and my platoon through three deployments back in 2008-2012 with the 1-325th AIR 82nd Airborne. Being in an Airborne Infantry platoon with a bunch of metal heads was one of the greatest chapters of my life so far!
@@Circasurvive20 Glad to hear you are still doing ok after a decade and 3 years, crazy you were in the ER the day I typed that comment checking in on your status. Why were you in the ER? Either way I’m glad you are ok. You still listening to AILD? If so thoughts on Shaped By Fire? Also, I’m just curious, how old you are?
Thanks man. I'm 34. To be real I thought I had colon cancer or something but turns out I just took a major dookie. It damaged my mucosa. haha. Imma have to listen to Shaped by Fire still. I listen to the old stuff now n then.
"I Never Wanted" I never wanted And I never cared before Now take it all back This is a new day How I long to regress To the days before I took upon myself The obsessions of this world A day of innocence equating beauty For tomorrow may fall And today is already gone Now take it back This is a new day I've grown tired of chasing Convinced I was in need And now the years I've spent Only a slave to this Tomorrow may fall And today is already gone I will no longer adore These things that will never satisfy me I have seen my world change And then go back to where it came In this vicious circle We are all brought back to life Only to die again But without these barren obsessions I am simply free
EARGASM STARTING AT 2:51....FULL BLOWN CLIMAX STARTING AT 3:19! Damn, the outro of this song literally makes me feel adrenaline being injected into the bloodstream.
This will forever and always be my favorite AILD song and among my top 5 favorite songs ever. There are no words that can describe the shear greatness. That ending gives me chills EVERY SINGLE TIME, especially the live version from the This Is Who We Are DVD.
this band is amazing. With the release of an ocean between us it totally blows away all of their old stuff. their new bassist owns. and i cant wait for their new album to come out in 2010!
I remember when I saw this back in 2007 live. My friend was telling me how he thought As I Lay Dying autotuned everything, and after hearing this song live, he tells me he was wrong haha. Wish they'd play this live again..
Listened to this over 1,00 times and still can’t get enough. As I Lay Dying got me through my darkest times in heroin addiction to homelessness. Thank you guys 🙏🏼
Before you guys say anything on Tim, look at your facts. He said himself he wasn't even Christian anymore. He lost his way like we all do. He broke the law and he will pay the price for it. But, your flames are ridiculous. I pray for Tim to find his way. Everyone loses path sometimes and it's not our place to judge. I'm just here to listen to one of my favorite bands I grew up on. You should all do the same instead of your ridicule.
I'm with you Caleb. This band is one of the finest I'm aware of, I really love their music. It's easy to flame Tim for what he's done. I don't support what he's done in the slightest, but has anyone NOT done things they aren't proud of? I'm not justifying his behaviour but flaming him is a reflection of you guys, not him.
chris g I agree w u about almost everything u said. If u believe there is something when u die why not believe in Jesus man. Being a christian isn't a bad. Alot of negative things are said about us and we do deserve some negativity cause alot of people drive it down people's throats. But knowing that when I die I will be in heaven is an incredible feeling
Every song by them is my favorite! Literally cannot pick just ONE! Just brilliant mucisians here! Lyrics are fucking AMAZING & EVERYTHING that comes from them is pure fucking greatness!
despite of Tim's actions! This will be my favorite band right on top with ABR! I was lucky to see them once but i for sure wanted to keep seeing them more! :/ i got hooked on AILD in 2007 and still am! Their music is just amazing!!!
I can't believe I haven't heard them till now they are really good and thanks I just googled it after thinking about it kinda like a7x and adtr they come up with abbreviations
this song is really tough to beat...i think a lot of love went into it, and i can see the struggle...its really awesome when you can get something going good in music, but music it so tough to do...sometimes this looks like some of the songs ive made...sometimes i feel like the audience only deserves to see it [one time]...literally...it could be a priceless masterpiece capable of bringing me to a new better world, and sometimes...i end it...some people dont know thats what its like being a musician...i cant play guitar and sing on the streets anymore, it almost killed me...but some say really crazy weird shit came out of that experience...you know at least in the artful sorta way...whatever
this is probably the only band that i can say i liked all of their albums from songs like forever and 94 hours all the way to this i loved it all AS I LAY DYING FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!
I never wanted and I never cared before I never wanted and I never cared before (Take it back this is a new day) I never wanted and I never cared before (Take it back this is) How I long to regress to the days Before I took upon myself The obsessions of this world (For tomorrow) A day of innocence equating beauty (May fall) For tomorrow may fall (And today) And today is already gone (Is already gone) For tomorrow may fall Today is already gone I never wanted and I never cared before (This is a new day) I never wanted and I never cared before I've grown tired of chasing Convinced I was in need And now the years I've spent Only a slave to this Tomorrow may fall And today is already gone I will no longer adore to These things that will never satisfy me I have seen my world change And then go back to where it came In this vicious circle we are Brought back to life only to die In this vicious circle we are Brought back to life only to die (Die again) In this vicious circle we are Brought back to life only to die In this vicious circle we are (But without these barren obsessions) Brought back to life only to die (I am simply, I am simply free) I have seen my world change And then go back to where it came
Man i was bummed bought tickets to see As I Lay Dying in Syracuse at the F shed, They have always been bucket list band for me they canceled due to his arrest but darkest hour filled their slot and played awesome set will be waiting for him to get out of prison and guaranteed i will be in the crowd first time they play in NY. Fuckin rock on
+GUIDO FROM NY I think what Garrett M's referring to, is "good luck" with seeing Tim at the helm of the As I Lay Dying ship... even if he gets out in a few months! Too much band member hate/lack of future sales to make it happen. Sucks, cuz its Tim's hate that fueled the rock. Onward WovenWar mediocrity!! (sigh)
I will never forget being a kid and borrowing shadows are security from the cool library lol. I put it in and started it and when I heard meaning in tragedy this became my favorite band and they will always hold a place in my heart. This is also the band that inspired me to play drums and now 9 years later I can play alot of their songs. Even Christians sin, and I'm not all about any religion, but I don't give a fuck what Tim did. Anyone that does must be perfect! I forgave Tim right after I heard of his mistake, because he has been a part of something that has given me so much inspiration and helped me through some of the hardest times of my life. I also know what drugs do to people. Influence people to do things they would never do otherwise. I fucking love you As I Lay Dying you've been one of my favorite bands since I was a kid and that isn't going to change because of a sin. I love the teaser and I hope you guys make more albums so my son can grow up with you too and so I can jam them on drums. Jordan you are a big inspiration to me you rock man!
Ok enough with insulting Tim, obviously he got caught trying to hire an undercover cop to kill his wife Megghan after their nasty divorce but As I Lay Dying's still a good Christian Metal Band and I'm still looking forward to possibly touring with them once my band Heart Of Flesh is official and signed. I've told them that they need to replace Tim if their band wants to stay out there.
pritchettm1 wait what?.... LOL Explain how a Christian metal band has a cover and music video of Electric Eye by Judas Priest lmao NOT EVEN CLOSE TO CHRISTIAN
jsmeezy121679 Easy - its a COVER song. Stryper did a full album of covers as well and covered - Sweet, UFO, Ozzy, Deep Purple, Kiss, Van Halen, Led Zepplin, etc and Stryper is considered a Christian band. Just because a band, that states that they are Christians, doesnt mean they cannot pay tribute to the songs that they love and helped or motivated them to go into music
tims lucky he got caught, beacuse if it went through and she was murdered it would not be hard to figure out a motive considering the divorce(a.k.a he would get life in prison for acting on termporary rage and there would be a dead ex wife on his concense) a classic case of a dude pumped up on roids and a selfish, maniuplative ex wife trying to take half of his shit. he will be out of prison on parrole and and starting a new band before you know it( with some good deep lyrical content from his time in the slammer) tim if you read this and need a lead guitar player i got your back.
Tim never wrote anything about Christianity in his lyrics. It was all philosophical on human behaviour and life as a whole. I know he has said on interviews they are a Christian band. I guess they were pressurized by their promoters as a Christian band
They all had Christian backgrounds and believe, but even Tim said at the time that they weren't preaching. Lyrically, everything was from a christian perspective. That's all.
This song has ment more to me then... Well you know how it is. As I lay dying always comes out with songs that have great lyrics and meaning to them. They are amazing!
I love this song so very much. METALCORE IS MORE ALIVE THAN EVER!!! Hell yeah Hope whoever is reading this has a wonderful day, cheers. If you have a little time on your hand an want to support a young upcoming band, my band just released our first music video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BHUS5Tit0P4.html You would do me such a huge favor.
