It's sad that it's disappearing. I've noticed it over the last 10 years. Still have my strong accent, even though I moved a few years ago down to NJ. My Boston accent is very strong and noticeable, and I'm proud of that. I've also noticed that my friends that are still back home, are pronouncing more of their R's, and the younger generations have no trace of the accent we grew up on. Sad.
Nice thought, but that would mean that Matt and Ben and Donnie would only take roles where the character has a Boston accent. And that’s nawt true; no sah!
For the same reason people sound different in New York City and Buffalo.. States are big. I would have to drive like 3 hours to get to Springfield Mass.. state boundaries have nothing to do with dialects, eastern and western mass are two completely different regions
