@@hyliadreamer multipersonalities but ?? He did dress mostly in women’s clothing. Do you think there might be something to that. This is just a taunt a ha ha moment so don’t anybody get your ruffles riled up
I used to laugh like I'd never laughed every time I watched the Carol Burnett Show. And now eons later when I watch it I'm still laughing. Everyone on that show was so ultra talented and her guests were perfect fits every time.
I want to hit a magic button so I could go back in time to these days. Both parents were still, alive, playing outside after dark and all I had to worry about was going to school in my 75 year-old school. No cell phones and the only people that had pagers were doctors and lawyers. The police were your friends, they knew your name and if you got out of line they paid a visit to your parents. And you were held accountable.
@@rayking9781 Humor can and if done well, lift us all up. It like music does our hearts good, like medicine- from God. Google Randy Rainbow's YT Trump parodies; also may I not commend to you Founders Singing, another very funny and may I say inspiring YT series?
Sounds like my childhood 😊 was the best time ever! ❤️ .. As well as, l remember my whole family sitting in the living room waiting for The Carol Burnett show to come on .. We lived in Ontario, Canada on the border so we received American TV shows ( stations ) ..
Her pornography photos are about to get leaked, her son had a sex change, and there is a man in drag. The show is a hilarious classic but it’s not Touched by an Angel……
I remember men in drag during the family TV hours was no problem then like Mother Marcus or Geraldine, etc. And now 50 years later I'm still not damaged by it lol
@Saleem Frazer They're actually parodies of soap operas, along with "Soap". I rather watch a soap opera parody than an actual soap opera. I hate soap operas. Soap operas suck.
I watched this show new, as a child and teen. This soap opera parody was one of my fave skits, and also parodies of tv ads, but they were all hilarious. Alot of the eps, I still recall.
"Old Uncle; Waldo (at age 94) is pretty athletic, isn't he! Tim Conway has to be one of the funniest, most talented comics in the world! Everything he does is just hilarious! It hurts to think that now he is old and doesn't recognize anyone due to senile dementia or Alzheimers or whatever it is. I just hope he doesn't hurt or feel bad. We miss him, he was so funny, his action, voice, facial expressions, everything about him was so funny, which shows just how brilliant he was on that show. And Harvey, well, all of them, SO good!
This is such a classic: I was so young but still vividly recall As the Stomach Turns: it's funny how even when you're a kid, you know parody and sarcasm instinctively.
@@bobbywimsy6741 Gracie Allen was funny as heck, plus when she was on dang, Joey or something show? Good stuff… funny as heck man, did Gracie Allen ever appear on the carol show?
One of my favorite outfits!!! I remember as a kid from the eighties how I wanted to wear a 2 colored dress with matching black and white accessories. Love you Mr. Mackie!!!!!!
Mother Markus was one of my fav characters of my father because it was a homage to his grandmother He captured the essence of his family member who was loving and nurturing and playful as a young boy.
Hey Trey thanks for those very nice words about my dad.My dad never put much value to his artistry but if he knew he made people forget their troubles then he would be proud and humbled by your kind words.
He was the very best playing this part: completely unashamed to be over the top in Jewish drag; it's like he was channeling another person entirely. My biological father actually sat next to your dad on a flight back in the 80s or 90s, from Chicago to L.A. He told me he was laughing throughout the whole flight and enjoyed the trip immensely.
Makes you wish there were variety shows like this again! Good clean fun with clean fabulous jokes subtle innuendos. My how times have changed! It’s timeless humor and we ❤️ this show!! Thanks for revitalizing the Carol Burnett show to reach younger audiences that more than likely never heard of her or her compadres in the comedy world😅😂🤣!!
Its Funny Ellie that you mentioned Arte Johnson who was a distant cousin of my fathers.Arte and my dad actually won a Emmy the same year.Arte is one of the funniest men around.
Dear Ellie R from the bronx ironically Arte Johnson is a distant cousin from my dads side.Arte and My father Harvey Korman won a emmy the same year 1968.This is C.Korman
@@ellierfromthebronx4531 Anybody who loved Harvey is a friend of mine! I am a man, ec Nyer, the photo is my late wife. Remember Charlotte Rae as Sylvia Schnauzer in Car 54, Where Are You? I'd marry such a person in a heart beat . Sigh
😅👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Mother Marcus character was something for Real, guys. I would like her so much as a dear neighbor if only she was real. lol Harvey Corman did a great job doing her besides all of the characters he’s done. He was awesome and I’m afraid it was him leaving the show that killed it but.. well, they were loyal to us for years as we were to them and still are! Rest in peace, Harvey 🍃💐
I wish they would have had Mother Marcus Meeting Mother Harper of Mama's family, he could have played Eds mother or Aunt I think it would have been Hilarious And think that Carol And Vicki would have loved it And Harvey too.
Am I the only person who, when he saw Carol's half-white, half-black dress, immediately thought of that self-parodying "Star Trek" episode -- Gene Roddenberry's contribution to the civil rights movement -- with the two aliens (one of whom was played by Frank Gorshin) who were each half-white and half-black (on opposite sides)? At least "As the Stomach Turns" was INTENDED as parody.
And now, in the pandemic era, July 8, 2020, we have a government program called, Operation Warp Speed, to get a vaccine. What can now be revealed is that it is headed up by Captain Quirk, or perhaps Captain Queeg.
*Sings* Spider Tim Spider Tim Ain't no one funnier than him Hangs off a tv set like a pro Makes Harvey crack up, doncha know Look out, it's Spider TIm! I'll be here all week.
@@heidifedor I know! What if she wore bipolar stockings, too? Or a half-black, half- white veil on her head? That would've been interesting! At least her hair stayed the same. Otherwise she would've looked like Cruella De Vil!
helixjc Showing my age, but for me, it was Lou Costello, Gracie Allen, and Groucho, one of the greatest counter depressive wits. Humor, for me, is agony in solution. It bonds us in common. humanity, and that all will be well.
